I've bought this brand before. The quality and cost are reasonable so i've bought again. You should replace the uv bulb each year to maximise the algae/bacteria clearing performance. After that they really degrade quickly and become a bit pointless. I've tried leaving it for 2 years before and found that the pea soup was creeping in fast. A new bulb fitted and we were back to crystal clear water within a couple weeks. All the uv clarifyers seem to use the same fitment and this one slots in easily. Just check the W rating and as long is it matches the bulb should fit fine.

I do not think these work , have since purchased a branded lamp and pond water now clear and algae gone within a day or two

This was the right wattage and fit for my pond filter, and much cheaper than the branded item listed in the filter spares It fitted perfectly - both for length and terminal pins. It was a replacement for the previous lamp of the same make. It arrived promptly on the day promised, and was very well packaged in a sturdy cardboard tube.
