Dancing electronic violinist Lindsey Stirling shares her unconventional journey in an inspiring New York Times bestselling memoir filled with the energy, persistence, and humor that have helped her successfully pursue a passion outside the box. A classically trained musician gone rogue, Lindsey Stirling is the epitome of independent, millennial-defined success: after being voted off the set of America's Got Talent, she went on to amass more than ten million social media fans, record two full-length albums, release multiple hits with billions of YouTube views, and to tour sold-out venues across the world. Lindsey is not afraid to be herself. In fact, it's her confidence and individuality that have propelled her into the spotlight. But the road hasn't been easy. After being rejected by talent scouts, music reps, and eventually on national television, Lindsey forged her own path, step by step. Detailing every trial and triumph she has experienced until now, Lindsey shares stories of her humble yet charmed childhood, humorous adolescence, life as a struggling musician, personal struggles with anorexia, and finally, success as a world-class entertainer. Lindsey's magnetizing story--at once remarkable and universal--is a testimony that there is no singular recipe for success, and despite what people may say, sometimes it's okay to be The Only Pirate at the Party. Review: A Must Buy For Lindsey Stirling Fans - I got this book and got to reading it one evening - I had got through it by the morning after the next day. I was basically reading it in all of my free time, because it was just that interesting. I used to be a great reader, but have fallen out of it for several years, and nothing seems to hook me anymore, but this certainly did. One of the things I loved about it was that it was pretty much exactly what I was expecting in a lot of ways - I thought I was going to be able to feel the wonderful, sweet, quirky personality of Lindsey throughout the book, and I was absolutely right. It also confirmed what I had already assumed and hoped was true about Lindsey - that she was very grounded and human; in a lot of her experiences she has to go through things that everyone can relate to. She is not a typical celebrity with her head in the clouds, she's down here with us. Something I just loved was how clear she makes it that her friends, her crew, her family (which are obviously pretty much one and the same to her) mean more to her than anything and she appreciates them more than the words she expresses in the book can say. A wonderfully entertaining emotional rollercoaster - you will find yourself laughing and crying throughout the book, and after reading this I feel like I understand and can relate to her a lot more. I swear the emotional impact of all her music increased significantly too after reading this. If anyone has any doubts about buying this, let me just say that even to people who aren't big fans of Lindsey, I would recommend this book, so if you ARE a big fan...it's a must buy. Review: As an unknown poet myself it is wonderful to feel the warmth and honesty in this book ... - I only found Lindsey a few months ago. What a breath of fresh air. As an unknown poet myself it is wonderful to feel the warmth and honesty in this book which I read in a day and will now buy for my 13 year old daughter. As a Christian and former pastor her videos and now her words have proved to be a bringer of hope in such dark days. Would love to work with this young lady in a creative capacity someday and hope she gets to the UK again soon and not be put off by London. You are the kindness, mischief, honesty and sheer glory of God in action. The book will delight you.

Absolutely glorious!!!
Loved it loads!!! She ain’t very big. She ain’t the world’s greatest violinist. But she has a gargantuan effervescent personality and has led a privileged life that is worth telling. Her insight, “young” wisdom and inspiration are simply brilliantly told in short snapshots that make an awful lot of sense to your life and mine. I totally loved this book for its exuberant simplicity and “can do”a ttitude. Read it - I guarantee you’ll be inspired. I certainly was.

Funny at times and moving at times - a beautifully written memoir.
A lovely story of someone been dismissed from the X factor by the big music deal makers, took her destiny in her own hands and had made amazing violin music and brilliant videos on YouTube. Lindsey's truly an inspiration to many people!

Really good
Mostly a gorgeous Bio. Only 4 stars for the 3 or 4 chapters she did put inside as fillers. Completely unnecessary. Aside is a really nice bio and a an inspiring person.

Inspirational story from an inspirational life of a genuine individual
Such an inspirational story from a truly inspirational person. This is not a tell all, behind the scenes dish the dirt fest, that is simply not what Lindsey Stirling is all about. It is a reflection of the key events in Lindsey's life which have shaped her to be the person she is today. The voice of the book is very definitely Lindsey Stirling, Brooke Passey has done a marvellous job of capturing that aspect of Lindsey. I wanted to cry, I did laugh. Also, worth pointing out once I had read it, I passed it to my daughter (she is 10). She thoroughly loved the book as well, there is nothing in there that a 10 year old shouldn't know about. After reading this, I simply admire Lindsey more and with so much bad news in the world this is one way of brightening up your day. Highly recommend if you want to see what it takes to be an individual within an industry where being an individual is usually the way to disappear and be forgotten about.

This book is a lovely read. Obviously only fans of Lindsey Stirling are going to buy it but I would recommend it to any of her followers. The stories and anecdotes that Lindsey has included really give an insight into the early life and career of this brilliant performer. If you like Lindsey this book is a must have item. Go on - treat yourself. It is worth every penny.....

Signed Treasure!
Signed Tresure! 🎻📘♥️ Today (01-08-2025), I received the signed edition from Amazon.com! I originally ordered it in 2023, but it wasn’t a signed copy. So this time, I decided to get the signed edition! I can’t even explain how much I love Lindsey Stirling. She’s the one who truly changed my heart and mind. I’ve never been a fan of anyone like this before — she’s such a sweet and kind-hearted human being. ♥️🎻

Talent, work ethic, family values to live by and grit. The stuff of heros and heroines.
Captivating, I didn't stop this audiobook version until it was finished. The authors are sisters and it shows throughout the pages of heartfelt dialog that take the reader deep into understanding the very soul of Lindsey Stirling. There is so much love between the two of them, and her family, and it's rooted in her strong faith as a Christian. Right away, you become aware of the emotional mindset of a child that becomes an adult with gifts of insight beyond the chronological capabilities of an ordinary human "bean" of that age. The challenges of overcoming an addictive eating disorder, and how she overcomes it to survive in the way she does, proves Lindsey is no ordinary girl. Kudos to Lindsey's parents for bringing their children up in a well grounded childhood with the values we all should live by. The confessional renderings of her life are both honest and sincere, often humorous. I listened to the audio version and knowing that Lindsey had commenced recording it after the passing of Gavi last November, I detected her voice cracking with emotion when it came to describing him. Later, there was a chapter devoted to his passing at the end and it was impossible for me to not feel her heartbreak of losing her best friend. I pray she heals her broken heart to continue to be an example, a loving sister in Christ, and a leader in all things that are right in this world. For those of you that attend her shows and follow her on social media you will find yourself not wanting this book to end. !'m 64 years old and never found myself out of place at the two concerts I've attended where I was not only surrounded by folks my age or older, but the majority were made up of young people which gives me hope that many of them grow up to aspire to be like Lindsey Stirling. Thank you for letting us into your charmed world Lindsey, thank you for showing us what is important in life and thank you for the wonderful music that lowers my blood pressure during traffic jams. Great Read
A truly inspiring story of never giving up on your dreams even when no one else believes in you and overcoming difficult personal challenges and obstacles to get there. It makes you look at yourself differently and gives great motivation and the message that it is OK and possible to love yourself even if you are less than perfect.
