The ALPAKA HUB Magnetic Keychain is a smart, well-executed idea with a ton of potential. The HUB system itself is excellent—strong magnets, sleek modularity, and a satisfying, secure snap when attaching to compatible mounts. I have a lot of confidence in the HUB core design. However, the keychain attachment itself is the weak link. The metal feels a little underbuilt for heavy or long-term use, and the way it secures into the clip doesn’t quite inspire the same confidence as the magnet connection above it. It’s fine for lighter keys or minimal setups, but if you're carrying a few more keys or anything substantial, it starts to feel a bit dicey. Given the Orbitkey imitation that followed this product, it’s clear ALPAKA is onto something—flattering, really. But ALPAKA has the opportunity to own this category if they lean into what they already do well: build hard-use, overbuilt gear for serious EDC users. A more rugged version of the HUB keychain—thicker metal, reinforced attachment point, maybe even some shock resistance—would be a home run. As-is, this is still a solid product that I enjoy using daily. But I’d love to see a “Pro” or “Heavy-Duty” version that matches the rest of ALPAKA’s premium gear philosophy.

The key feature of thsi keychain hub is the fidlock magetic latch. The only way to take it off is to pull the tab. Otherwise, it just won't come off no matter how you pull or shake the thing. Because of the strong magnet, it's so easy to put it back on and secure it. Comparing this with the 8Timber version, I think it mostly boils down to usage. If you need to hook , then the carabiner (8Timber) version would work better. But if you are like me and one to clip it to a pocket (i.e. an interiod pocket of a backpack or sling bag), then this Alpaka Hub (clip version) would work better. Also, this is so much lighter than the 8Timber carabiner version. I don't mind it being plastic since I will be using it inside a bag most of the time. An interesting fact is that you can interchange the keyring portion between Alpaka and 8Timber , which is a good thing if you have both. There are two things I wish it could be improved: 1. The clip is quick thick. It would be nice if it can be slimmed down a bit. 2. The pull tab is a bit too thin. 8Timber's silicone pull tab feels more substantial and easily to "find" (when reaching inside a bag without looking). Overall, this is still a great 5 star product.

It’s a handy system.. the clip clips on to just about any strap I have, I then get the option to magnetically clip on items such as keys, AirPods, IDs, etc to it using the clip. My AirPods, keys and wallet all have a male end clip so when I’m out and about and need to free up a hand to get back to something, I attach to the clip. It’s versatile since the clip is removable. So when I’m traveling overseas, I use the clip to hold my passport pouch. It’s a nifty system indeed. I wish they’d sell clips in bulk or even the hub in a bulk package that was more affordable.

This is the best set up for my work badge. Now it doesn't matter if I wear a belt or have loops. And it's shorter than any other standard badge holder with a carabiner.

No lo eh usado tanto como creí pero funciona exactamente como dicen y es muy conveniente , ojalá güera más varado para utilizar todo,ese sistema en mi trabajo en mi casa y en mi carro. Así de tanto me gusto y esq lo uní otro sistema de imanes con Quick conect q lo hace aun más eficiente, así de lo co soy , no me juzguen.
