Can i do a 10 star review!
I’ve been using this NEEWER battery grip for my Canon R6 Mark II, and honestly, if I could rate this 10 stars, I absolutely would. It is perfect as is—there are zero complaints and absolutely no room for improvement. As a professional photographer, I need gear that I can rely on during long, high-stakes shoots, and this grip delivers everything I need. The build quality is top-tier, featuring a contoured design and smooth synthetic leather coating that provides an incredibly comfortable and firm grip. It makes capturing clear, sharp images in vertical orientation feel just as natural as shooting horizontally, thanks to the inclusion of all essential function buttons like the shutter, main dial, and autofocus. The double battery life is a total game-changer. Being able to house two LP-E6NH battery packs means I never have to worry about power constraints during extended sessions. It also adds a nice bit of weight that helps balance the camera when I’m using larger, heavier lenses, which is a massive plus for stability. I highly recommend this to any photographer looking for a professional-grade alternative to the OEM version at a fraction of the cost. It’s a necessary tool that has significantly enhanced my workflow and camera handling.

Essential gear for your camera
Absolutely essential piece of kit for my Canon R5 and R6 cameras. I have big hands, so without the battery grip, my camera feels like a toy and actually cramps my hand after long periods of shooting. The dual battery compartment provides long battery life to my camera. I can typically get through a 6-hour wedding without having to replace the batteries, though longer than that, and I find I do. I like that the same grip works for both cameras, so if one dies, I can easily swap the battery holder between cameras to keep going. I've had it on my camera for about 3 years without any issues, and my cameras work hard and get used a lot. One of the grips broke after being dropped, but the batteries kept the camera going for the rest of the event. I didn't hesitate to buy it again to replace the damaged one. The price point is about 1/3 of the cost of the OEM, and it has the same functionality and works great.

Works great, really happy with it. Perfect to pair with heavy lenses.
Wow, third party grips have really come a long way. I haven't had a battery grip on my camera since the 5D Mark II, and back then the quality of third party grips was pretty suspicious. Canon recently had a killer sale on their refurbished RF 28-70 F2 lens, but sadly that lens is extremely unbalanced on the R6mkII if you don't have a grip on it, thus why this one was purchased. This Neewer replica of the BG-R10 really surprised me with how nice it is. It pretty much feels like the R6mkII texture wise, and it fits without a hitch. I have a wrist strapped attached to it for security and have controlled it both normally and vertically and haven't had any issues with either orientation. The battery tray is interesting in that the batteries aren't on the same level, but it looks like that's the design of the BG-R10 in general and not unique to the Neewer. Overall at about 40% the price of the OEM BG-R10 this grip has been an incredible value. It feels like a legitimate OEM copy and hasn't given me any issues yet. The Canon RF 28-70 is a lot easier to handle with this on it.

Can't endorse this
I was very excited to get this unit. Ordered in January and just now getting around to using it. Was easy to put on and worked fine for a week. I went to take the batteries out and charge and the latch will not turn and now I have two new batteries stuck in this unit and no working trigger! Not sure what happened but the latch will not turn and I cannot open to get my batteries out and basically a dead in the water grip! I have contacted customer support. Waiting to see what they say to try and fix this.

Perfect Budget alternative to the $300 Canon
There were mixed reviews on this. From the battery tray design, to the texture different and even jog dial quality. For the price I paid and 3 weeks of hard use, I don’t have any complaints. Yes, there is a texture difference. Very slightly. Yes, the color is slightly off compared to my 1 year old R6ii. Yes, the shutter button and dials feel different. Yes, I saved $250. It does the job. I shoot lots of basketball and needed a bit more ergonomic help when shooting portrait orientation. The ease of swapping between portrait and landscape without contorting my already arthritic wrists, make it comforting. Note: I’m no pro photographer, just an athletic booster club parent volunteer for my sons high school. Pros: Cost Quality compared to cost Cons: And this is a minor con, the battery tray latch, feels a bit too flimsy. Any extra effort to turn the locking dial, could result in having the batteries trapped. Just be careful when turning and you’re fine.

Awesome grip.
Ordered this for the Canon R6 mark ii. The camera no longer feels like a kid’s toy being so small. Works amazing and with two batteries, I don’t think too much about battery life during a shoot. All controls are good, just takes a little to develop muscle memory for them, but laid out well.

Worth it for the price.. so far
I’ve had it a few days. What I can say about it initially: it feels great. Quality of the dials seem 8/10. Buttons press as they should and function. They follow whatever setting you already have for your R6. The color (black) matches which you wouldn’t know it but it does matter. It locks in place via the rotating nob, it does rattle but that’s due to the battery cage , the batteries themselves don’t seem to secure 100 percent. If you can get past that, everything else seems functional. The rubber grip seems like it might start to detach and if that’s the case, I’m sure I will be able to glue it back on. I’m glad I purchased this over the Canon as I save well over $300. I’d recommend it. But only time will tell how long it will last.
