100% Solids Garage Epoxy Floor Kit, Designer Gray, 600 Sq Ft 17pc

First and foremost my product arrived damaged. AmorPoxy quickly got me out a new product and was able to answer my questions via customer support about using the optional “Primer” step as well as the crack filler. Unfortunately my garage floor already had a layer of ‘something’ from the previous owners so I had to rent a Floor Sander from Home Depot. (The main reason I opted to prime in the first place) Followed that up with the acid etch wash to maximize a clean surface and clear out the concrete dust, moisture test and crack filler, then two coats of primer, followed by the epoxy layer with chips and finally top coat with non slip powder added. Some take aways: My garage floor is roughly 422 square feet, two car garage. The 300 foot kit was PLENTY. had enough primer for a second coat and tons of epoxy and top coat left over. Throwing chips is easy to get out of hand, my floor isn’t perfect, some spots are heavier than others but that’s okay, try to even them out as best as you can. I used my food scale and a small mixing bucket for the epoxy ratios. It’s a 2:1 ratio, and with a quick bonding time they recommend doing small batches. I used Saran Wrap on my food scale and just measured 800 grams Part A to 400 grams Part B, it was perfect to knock out a good size portion of the edges on the floor, then dump out and roll. Easy working with wife Take your time, while knocking this project out in three days seems optimal as advertised that just wasn’t for my life schedule. I was able to sand and acid etch one day, gave it three days to dry, primed, and primed again back to back days, but gave it another 4 days to dry. Then epoxy and chipped. Gave it two days to dry, and then top coat. Gave it two days to dry before walking and will probably give it another two days before equipment and even longer before cars go back in. Call me careful, but I was pretty positive and confident it would look amazing when I was done, and it does! Extremely pleased, but I want it to look amazing next year, and the year after that and so on. So take your time, don’t rush and read the instructions a million times, watch the YouTube video a million times. Overall very satisfied. I will try to update this review in a year 😅 and let you know how it looks.

1 year update - This survived perfect over winter in a heated garage. The garage is set to 45, so it is on the cold side. There was absolutely no cracking or flaking. This has held up and still looks like new. One thing to be careful on: avoid putting tires on relatively fresh epoxy or it might stain. ----original---- I debated epoxying the ~40 year old garage for a long time. I was originally going to go with RustOleum, but I am incredibly happy I found this product. It includes nearly everything to complete the job like a pro. I used 3x 600sqft kits in an ~1400sq ft garage. The concrete was very old and worn, so I used more material than needed to help hide spalling/etc. Prep is the most important part. Sweep, hose out, de-grease, acid etch. After the acid etch you will need to extremely thoroughly wash the surface off - if you can't hose the area out, you will want to use a wet/dry vacuum and loads of water. Watch the manufacturers videos to better understand how to apply this. I highly recommend the squeegee to spread the product quickly and then go back and back-roll with the roller. Timing wise, I applied this when it was over 90 outside. I applied roughly 1 gallons at time leaving a 'wet edge'. Realistically, I had plenty of time once the product was down to walk on the surface and apply flakes. A tip for the flakes: practice on a tarp and throw the flakes into the air. Also don't ever grab a full handful. Because we needed the storage, this was applied to one half the garage and then the other. If you need to do the same, don't apply flakes to the edge, don't clear coat the edge, sand the edge prior to the next coat if more than a few days since it was applied. There is more than enough clear coat for multiple coats. If desired, you can pick up more anti-slip additive to add to it (which I did). Once applied, the floor feels like sandpaper. That makes me feel much better about applying this to stairs as well. Overall I am thrilled with the result. The end result look amazing and will hopefully last a long long time. I will update if I run into any problems.

I think this kit is great but could use some additional things to make it better. When you need to mix a 2 to 1 ratio of epoxy and hardener you can see through the hardener and guesstimate the halfway point but its not the same for the epoxy one. Its in a gray bin with no markings on the tub to know where the full line is or to where halfway point is. I guessed about half but ended up being a little less and I had more at the end so not having enough epoxy and more hardener changed the tone of the gray epoxy slightly. So essentially you can see the first half vs the second of work bc the tones ended up being a tad different. The squeegee they gave is small and cheap....it ripped off the first time used and I went to buy a higher quality one. Additionally we bought another 3 lbs of flakes bc the 1 lb they gave wouldnt cover very much. I like how they gave you the brushes, the nap rolls and the mixer tool along with gloves so it saves with tedious things to buy. One thing I needed to do (but wasn't about to rent a sander for $150+) was to sand the concrete...the end result would have been better as its blothcy in some spots bc the oils that were too deep in the concrete. Overall this kit was good but needs some better quality items and a form of measuring the epoxy 2x with 1x hardener so its perfectly even instead of guessing as you pour it from a dark tub with no markings.

I highly recommend buying double of what you actually need and doing a 2nd coat before putting the flake. I prepped my concrete (it was brand new so I know there were no previous contaminants), but there are several areas that visually are not to my liking. In the past I have done my garages with a different brand and have always done two or more coats. I read the reviews on this product and decided to try just one coat. I should have gone with my gut. Lucky for me the places that I have issues with I plan to put pallet racks over so you should not see it after I get might be longings moved into the garage. Prep and application we're both very easy, the kit comes with everything you need. And the epoxy was really easy to work with. I live in a very humid climate and the clear coat was applied 5 days ago, and is still a bit tacky. But it looks like it's going to be a nice four when everything is moved in. ***UPDATE*** I haven't even parked on the floor yet, I've only been walking and remodeling the room and it's already coming up. I did all the prep work and, it was new concrete so I know that's not the issue. But don't waste your money, buy the Rust-Oleum brand. I used it in my garage at my old house and it held up great for 6 years. I just wanted to try something new and I wish I hadn't. ***Another update*** Finally moved into my new house and the first time I blow my garage out with a leaf blower it peels up! DO NOT BUY THIS!!! STICK WITH RUST-OLEUM ITS BETTER

I used the ArmorPoxy Garage Floor Epoxy Kit for the garage in our Charleston home with excellent results. I had previously used an epoxy kit from one of the two big box stores on our garage in Houston and it was not successful. The etching did not work and the finish did not adhere consistently and flaked off in many places very soon after applying it. The ArmorPoxy kit contained everything I needed to try again with our 21'x24' garage in Charlestion included well written instructions with very helpful hints. The results were even better than I expected and the floor looks just as good as the one's friends of our have had professionally installed at 3- 4 times the cost. I have already placed a heavy refrigerator, storage cabinets, and vehicles on the finished floor without a single scratch or flake. So I am encouraged by its initial toughness and only time will tell if it will hold up over extended use. But, right now it looks great and I would highly recommend it for tjose that want a professional result with a DIY kit from ArmorPoxy.

Fantastic kit and highly recommend. This kit saved me so much time of piecing together all the equipment I would need. You need to buy this stuff anyway, why not do it in one shot? I have seen the kits from big box stores, this is the next level. A great way to get a professional look from a DIY project. Garage is roughly 550SF, new, poured 7 months prior with zero car traffic. Prep Day: Powerwashed then used the Etching solution worked great on my floors. Powerwashed off again and let the floor dry. Used two 10oz tubes of Sikaflex self leveling joint sealer on the cracks around the perimeter. Base Coat was delayed 1 day due to heavy rain, high temps and 100% humidity. Don’t force it if the weather doesn’t fit your frame. You work on the material’s schedule, not your own. The 600sf kit contained plenty of material for my garage, the sides and even a couple of steps. Clear coat went on just fine after allowing base to fully cure and dry for 36 hours. Things I learned during the process applying: 1) Thorough reading the instructions and watch the videos provided at least once. 2) Base coat, make it a two-man job. The constant rushing of 20 minutes to mix/squeegee/roll/ flakes can get messy. And the base coat sticks to everything. One person to mix and pour, one to spread, roll and flake. 3) Don’t freak out if it looks thin when squeegeeing. It evens out on the rolling. 4) Commit to whether you are doing side walls before the rest of the floor. 5) Pre-measure the Part A, Part B and flakes based on how you will be applying. I did this in 3 parts for each bay to maximize my timing. This way you don’t go too heavy flaking on one bay over the others. 6) I wanted a heavier flake and bought my own 12lb bag of black/white/grey to address the nearly 600SF. Kit comes with 6lbs. 7) I used vinegar and paper towels to get the resin off my hands and arms, but NOT for applying directly to surrounding concrete; it will stain.

Unfortunately, the product failed to adequately cover the advertised area despite the advertized amount even after over estimating the sq. Footage by approximately 15%.

This is the 4th garage that I’ve done. I used the Home Depot rust oleum brand. I had issues with tire marks with them so I decided to try epoxy shield. What a difference. It wax’s Easier to apply, the epoxy is a much thicker coating than the others, and it’s much more durable. I just pulled my car in two days ago and not even a mark where the. Tires are. It feels great to walk on, and looks fantastic. The best job I’ve done. Hopefully the last. lol. The worst part is moving all my stuff out of the garage and the prep work on the floor. (Very important). I spent 3 days prepping the floor. Applying the epoxy is the easy part. I just poured it on and rolled it out. I didn’t need to use the squeegee. I still haven’t perfected spreading the chips. I have a few spots where I was heavy handed! but it not terrible looking. I. Did the floor in four sections and mixed half the epoxy at a time. I waited 7 days before I pulled the car in. I live in the desert so the epoxy dried rather quickly so I had to work at a brisk pace. . I did had to call customer service once and they were very helpful. I highly recommend this product, and would not hesitate to buy it again. My neighbors can’t believe how good 8t looks. They thought I had it done professionally. Now they want me to do theirs. . No thanks.

This kit was good and im very happy with the finished floor. Cost was more than the kits you buy from big box stores but was worth every penny.

The product was as advertised with all the parts needed to complete the job. The instructions were good. The product installed easy. The coverage was more than advertised. I had 184 square feet to cover and wanted to put two coats of the epoxy down so ended up ordering two 300 square feet kits. I was able to do the two coats of epoxy with the one kit and do four coats of top coat with one kit. I used one package of flakes for a heavy coverage which hit any imperfections. I think it turned out good and looks really nice.
