So I decided to delve more into the game and It was not disappointing. This handbook contains ten chapters. 1. Introduction (Introduction, example of play, and What you need to play Call of Cthulhu) 2. The Dunwich Horror 3. Creating Investigators (This covers steps of creation, what the numbers mean, examples of creation, period names, number reference charts, lots of examples and help) 4. List of Occupations (descriptions and information on jobs for your characters) 5. Skills (List of skills, living standards, becoming a believer, and optional rules) 6. Investigator Organizations (Lists of example organizations your investigator can join or be a part of) 7. Life as an investigator ( Monster size charts, and how to play as an investigator with great information on role playing) 8. The Roaring Twenties (As a history buff this is a great chapter. It contains information on events and people of the 20's) 9. Advice for Players (Setting the scene and rules advice) 10. Reference (Equipment list, travel, modern day, maps of Arkham and the surrounding country) Overall this is a great book. I do recommend this to anyone playing. Its a great resource and the company does a good job of laying it all out. The pictures are fun and nice. Its a solid purchase.

As any Call of Cthulhu vet will tell you, this edition's Investigator's Handbook isn't strictly necessary to play the game. The only thing a group really needs is the Keeper's book as all this adds is more Occupation options for players and a lot of 1920's setting information. Great system
This system is a ton of fun. It's quick and easy to build characters and understand skills. I also enjoyed they included background information on the mythos the game is centered around as well as information about the main era the game takes place in (the 1920s). This system works in any timeline and they have information and character sheets set for modern times as well, however the bulk of the supplemental materials and the initial stories are set in the 20's.

Well done, worth the upgrade from 6E...
I don't tend to buy the newest edition of anything, but this one is worth it. The cleanup of the rules has been so worth it. Better explanations, faster game play, and good consolidation of skills. This really is one of the few times paying the extra money for the next edition was worth it.

A well done book, but it doesn't add much.
Honestly, my favorite parts of this book are the history of the pulps intro, and life in the 20's section. It has plenty of information, but it would be just as easy to put together a character without it. Good quality though, and as long as you get it for about half of retail, it's worth a buy.

An invaluable books a player!
The investigator's handbook is invaluable as a player. Numerous occupations, background information and everything a player would need for a call of Cthulhu 7th edition game. Although this book is NOT required to play the game, it really adds benefits for player's. If you're going to be a player of call of Cthulhu 7th edition, and wish to invest, this book is well worth the price. A must buy to a great game.

One stop character creation
This book does not disappoint. Everything needed for a player is right here. I can throw this out on the table for easy access during play without having to give up my Keeper's book to the players. The best part is that this book is pulled directly from the Keeper's Rulebook. You don't have to purchase this book to have the complete game (unlike a certain popular fantasy rpg). But for me and my group it was worth purchasing both.

Amazon sucesso e ótimo rpg de horror
Entrega muito mais rápida que o esperado, Amazon.com.br está com tudo. Sobre o livro, referência boa para o "investigador" (jogador) do RPG de mesa "call of cthulhu" em sua sétima edição montar seus personagens e conhecer as mecânicas do jogo. Note que o livro com as referências para se mestrar o jogo (ser o "keeper") se chama "keeper rulebook", e é complementar a este livro. Não há problema apenas o "keeper" ter uma cópia de cada livro e os investigadores compartilharem o investigators handbook para criação de personagens, visto que este quase não é usado como referência pelos investigadores durante a partida em si, visto que o foco é na história e não mecânica. Nota nº2: livro em inglês.
