Great product,..Consider this camera before purchasing a pan/ tilt!
Great camera very happy with it so far, I had previously installed a pan and tilt which I was very happy with however it missed a lot of events or should I say to start of events because the camera was tracking over to catch a car or a person and that takes time sometimes I'd miss event altogether because it can't track that fast,.. This camera can see a full 180° which is all I needed in this location and it doesn't need to track it sees everything all at once so you don't miss an event it's also got almost double the storage capacity with 256 SD card capability it's got full motion detection the picture quality awesome, I bought this on sale so value for money you can't beat it even at full price it's great value, the sound quality is much better than my previous camera which used to come through all broken if you were on your phone trying to communicate communicate with someone near the camera,... this camera has much better sound quality..... There is only one gripe I have with Rio Link and that is the wires Black and white for the AC connection are too short it makes it very tricky to connect,. electrical code requires 6 inches of prepped cable sticking out from any junction box this product should match that and the installer can choose whether he wants to shorten it or not,... any electrician will tell you,.. you need 6" length... I like the versatility of the product you can connect it with a 5 V DC power block you can connect it to 110 AC ,...you can have it connected to Wi-Fi or it will connect to a network cable I think that versatility is brilliant I haven't seen it on many cameras I have it connected to network cable and there's no issues whatsoever very fast there's no video lag-time, also versatility of being able to connect it to a junction box or straight to a wall both templates are provided this camera has been thought through from start to finish apart from the AC wires,.. If you only need to cover 180° I would highly recommend this camera over a pan/ tilt. I include a picture which shows a full 180° and unfortunately it was very cloudy that day so it doesn't quite show the clarity this camera provides. The camera is also very well-made mostly metal construction easy to adjust view angle.

A Good Idea Executed Horribly
The hardwired AC version of this camera will not initialize with DC power as you’re directed to in the instructions. According to some googling, it will only initialize while hooked up to AC power. One problem: it also needs to be connected to a router using an Ethernet cable at the same time. This makes it basically impossible to set up the camera safely unless you feel comfortable manually wiring it to a power plug and plugging it into the wall with everything just hanging out there and not enclosed. Not safe at all. Also, the AC version of the camera appears to not actually receive active support from Reolink. When I ran into this issue, I discovered it’s not listed for sale on their website—and while you can find install instructions for it in their support section, the instructions incorrectly tell you to use DC power to initialize it. Also, while I didn’t get this far due to the initialization issue, my research also turned up that despite the fact that this camera is technically two cameras in one, it only has two “joined” feeds—a super wide and high-quality one that doesn’t work with HomeKit through Scrypted, and a super wide and *low* quality one that does (effectively 720p). I’m almost glad I didn’t get far enough to encounter that.

Inexpensive, Fast, and Private but with a little more complicated initial setup
I saw this product when I was looking for a floodlight/ security camera that didn't connect to a proprietary cloud or store video on a 3rd party server. This only connects to the intranet or via remote access, the latter I haven't mastered yet. After installing it, I have been extremely satisfied with the image quality, easily customized app, and SPEED. I have a doorbell camera from the home security service we use. It's garbage. In large part because of how incredibly slow it is. And the footage is definitely going through or ending up on one of their servers, for sale or free to cops. This is the opposite. Effort: This is an outdoor floodlight, so it probably will require being comfortable using a ladder, maybe cutting a piece of wood and painting it to make sure the camera is installed flush to the wall, and making a hole in your house. Its speed comes from the direct connection to your router or a wifi repeater with LAN ports. That's Cable A. It can't be hardwired to your house, even if you know how to do that, which I do not, but if you do you can definitely put this thing together. ANYWAY, because it can't be hardwired, it has to be plugged (Cable B) into an outlet. Even if you have outdoor outlets, this is not the kind of thing you want getting wet all the time or being easily unplugged. So you will almost certainly need to make some kind of a hole in your walls. Not renter-friendly, this model. It's not a small amount of work, but I am 100% satisfied with the product and the app so far. Remember, too, it records to a microSD card. If you want to record in 4K I would recommend at least 128gb or larger (check their website for compatibility) because when it's full you'll probably want to it to just start over and it's been up about 24h at max resolution and gone through 30gb. I'm sure you don't have to have it do that, tho but less convenient.

Perfect product for front of the house security.

The item arrived before committed date. Happy with night vision and picture quality. But motion detection seems to be a bit lagging, particularly at night. Not sure if settings need to be tuned.
