Circuit Probe Kit 6-24V Automotive Circuit Tester with Auto Electrical System Testing Functions (Digital Voltage Tester/Multimeter/Short Finder/Battery Tester/Power or Ground Supply)

This tester is exactly what I was looking for without breaking the bank. I must say I was surprised after reading some of the other reviews. Came with all items pictured. The tester itself is straightforward and easy to use. The instructions included are helpful, but could be more detailed in explaining some of the more uncommon functions. I have seen some online videos with the use of tools similar to this. This tester does everything I need it to. It has a lengthy cord to use and you can attach to a 12v battery or a 12v cigarette lighter plug which is useful if using inside the car. It also has a long extension cable to add 20'. Everything seems pretty good quality. I am content with the price. The tip seems solid and pretty sharp to pierce the insulation on some wires. I was worried about the tip not screwing in, but that is not an issue. The included cap goes on first. This does not screw in. The tip then goes into the cap, and screws into the main unit. It screws in securely and didn't have any problems keeping it attached or coming loose. I tested some fuses, grounds and the battery terminals and everything works as expected. The tone on my device is kind of cheap sounding, but does work. The display is intuitive, and displays pretty much the same as in the video for this product. My only wishes were that the included bag was bigger to fit everything it came with. (Everything does fit, but you have to take time to arrange everything to fit correctly. The extension cable takes up the bulk of the room.) The unit itself is lightweight. Everything else has some "heft" to it and feels high quality. The unit itself is plastic and feels hollow. It doesn't weigh much, but doesn't feel cheap either. The rocker switch feels solid and responds with good feedback when pressed. Overall I like this product. I now know it will work for what I need it to. Hopefully this lasts me a long time. For the price compared to similar products, I would choose this model after having tested it out.

Works well, build quality is good, materials used are decent. The wires included are long enough to work on trailer wiring.

Light gets brighter at higher voltage

I do a lot of work in automotive electrical systems and have been using a multimeter and test light for 20+ years. When my coworker introduced me to the power probe it was life changing. He allowed me to borrow and use it as much as I like but I wanted to own one for myself, The powerprobe is a very useful tool but I can't imagine paying $100+ for one especially with how chintzy and cheap it felt (it's no fluke tool). I found the Autool when looking for a cheaper alternative and after using it for a few weeks I can honestly say this is every bit as good as the powerprobe. It still have a somewhat cheap feeling to it but so does the original.

This has been a game changer for me and my business, the bi-directional function keeps me from having to trace wires for hours! Highly recommend this for anyone that works on vehicles!

This tool is so useful it's crazy.. Does everything is claims too.. It whould be nice to have a longer cable, and this unit is not modular like other models I have seen, you can't buy an extension cable for this model..

This thing works great! At one time, I stored it where it got some water inside, or condensation from the AC, but it would come one, and the screen was blank. I messaged the seller and they immediately sent me a replacement screen out(which is basically the entire inside of the probe, all the electronics). Before it got here, the inside had dried up and started working again, and I haven’t had an issue since I changed where it’s stored. I highly recommend this one, and also recommend the seller! Great customer service!

I would buy this style of device with the digital readout on it instead, just my opinion.
