Our cat LOVES the rabbit!!!
Boots is a rescue cat that we literally brought home from the side of the road. We had never had pets before, so everything—from nail caps to pet food—has been a learning experience for us. When we first brought her home, we went to the store and picked up the basics: a litter box, a scooper, and some dry food. As we learned more, we realized how important hydration is for cats. That led us to buy a water fountain and switch to a premium wet food diet. Then we started looking for ways to help Boots live longer and stay healthier, and that’s when we discovered freeze-dried raw food. I had never heard of it before, but after doing some research, Stella & Chewy’s consistently came up as a top recommendation. We were advised to start with chicken, but since two of Boots’ wet food options are already chicken-based, we decided to try rabbit for variety. Now, I’ll admit—this food is expensive. But I did some math to better understand the value. We feed Boots four times a day, typically about 2.5 oz of wet food per meal. When we replace one of those meals with the freeze-dried food, she only needs about 0.5–0.6 oz. That works out to roughly one pellet per ounce (actually a little less). I will let you determine the price per meal based on the price at time of purchase and how much you feed your cat. Right now, we’re using this as her nighttime meal, and an 8 oz bag lasts us about 15 meals. As for Boots’ reaction: she goes absolutely crazy for this food. She loves the rabbit. The moment I take the bag out of the cabinet, she can’t contain herself. Waiting for me to add warm water, crush the pellets, and mix everything together clearly feels like forever to her. And when it’s finally ready, she devours it—there’s never anything left in the bowl. Would I recommend this? Absolutely. Yes, it’s expensive, but even if you don’t feed it every day, it’s a fantastic option as an occasional meal. Your cat will love it—even if it’s just once a week or less. Finally, while others have likely covered the detailed nutritional benefits, my perspective is simple: the closer we can get to a natural, prey-based diet without fillers, the better it is for our feline friends.

Purrfect cat food solution!
Fabulous! It’s a great multi-functional food! The morsels are semi-crunchy for cats who want that, but easy to crush and partially crush with your fingers if you want. It rehydrates wonderfully with water or broth. It helped my sick cat eat! My cat has triaditis but had been on additional hunger strikes unless I fed him his normal food that he can’t have anymore, until I tried this. I also like that I can leave it out for him without wasting money if he doesn’t eat it right away.

Best Cat Food
This cat food is very highly rated, so I bought it to try on my three fussy cats. They love it! It's very expensive, so I subscribe to have one bag delivered each month. Every night before going to bed we play a game where I flick individual pellets of this food and they chase it. It's the high point of their day and they remind me every night not to forget. I can't imagine feeding this as their main food because of the cost, but it's certainly a quality treat.

Best chopped up as a wet food topper
Very very dry and gets fibrous if soaked in water none of my 3 cats will eat it that way. 3 stars for texture. They like it dry as a treat —. But you have to cut the large morsel into smaller bites. My one cat has dietary issues and I have switched over to a rabbit based wet food. The absolutely rabbit actually works perfect as a topper. I put it in a mini food processor and make a finer product. I sprinkle it on top of their wet rabbit based food. One of my cat loves it the other two like it. Adds extra protein and incentive.

No more leaky diarrhea
This might be a premature review since it's only been six days. My 12 yr old, small female calico has been battling chronic, pernicious diarrhea for 4 years. The last few weeks have been so bad I covered all the furniture with blankets and towels. I've gone the vet route, Fortiflora, grain free, limited ingredients, Wellness, et al. Last week I thought I was looking at the end game. I tried the internet once more looking for a solution and read about some good outcomes using rabbit. Looking for rabbit, I came across Stella and Chewy reviews. God bless the internet. I got my order on Thursday, figuring either she wouldn't eat it or it wouldn't help. Instead, she gobbled it down. I fed her three times and sometime that night she threw it all up. Not surprising since I didn't introduce it slowly. I fed it to her again the next day, it stayed down. She's thrown it up once in the last 4 days. On day 4 she turned up her nose at the wet food. I crushed up some dry, she ate it. Now I alternate wet and dry. Her diarrhea stopped within 24 hrs after switching to this. Her stools have form. And she is absolutely glowing. Looks like using this is going to cost about $3 a day. Yikes. I have five pets. So now I'm going to research how to feed her, my other cat and three dogs raw without going broke. But what a difference a week makes. Update: it's now been over two weeks, still doing great. I switched to turkey, cheaper, no problems. So then I ordered the 18 oz bag of turkey, $37, since I knew that she would eat it. When it arrived, at least a third of it was the consistency of sawdust. All of it just makes a mushy pate. It's not nearly as firm as the previous 8 oz bag. She's not happy with it. I've been adding some cooked hamburger or ground turkey trying to get her to eat it. Not going to change the rating since her health is so much better but disappointed in the variation of quality. I'm now trying something from Petsmart in store because I can't afford to get a bad batch every third order.
