These adapters work perfectly. When paired with the wiring adapters needed for your specific vehicle (Toyota/lexus in this case) installation is a breeze. I was surprised that there was no foam to prevent rattling, but the sound quality is great nonetheless. The hardware from the speakers I used fit the adapter nicely and tightened up well. These adapters are very affordable and definitely beat fooling with drilling holes into your car door to mount aftermarket speakers. The plastic seems robust and good surface finish.

The Metra 82-8146 Speaker Adapters worked exactly as expected. They fit securely, lined up cleanly with the factory mounting points, and made the installation quick and hassle-free. The material feels sturdy, and everything stayed rattle-free once the speakers were in. A simple, reliable accessory that makes upgrading much easier.

We are using this on the front doors of a Lexus GX470. The D18 6x9 speakers fit perfectly in these, but there are a couple of things to note. First, the holes don't exactly match up on the bracket mount so we used short self tapping lath screws to make the connection between the speaker and the mount. Once we made the connection we mounted the whole assembly onto the door. The wires on this mount get sandwiched between the mount and the door. The wire assembly got taped together to prevent vibrations and so far it's worked out excellently. The OEM bracket had a special connection built into it which made it look smooth and purpose built. Overall this is a great mount to fit the 6x9 speakers. The plastic is sturdy and robust and easy to put into use.

The mounts directly fit the front doors of a 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser. The pre-molded screw holes for the speakers are a bit out-of-place for the 6x9 Infinity Kappa speakers I put in them. I had to drill a couple of holes in the mounts to get the speakers secure.

Installed in a 2014 Subaru Forester for the front door speakers. I cut the wires and spliced the provided wires from the Pioneer speakers, which sound amazing. The two wires Blue = White and Pink = White/Black stripe. The Metra adapter is really the only method unless you want to drill holes in your door. Fit perfectly and the provided hole for the speaker wires (orient to the top) made the job super easy.

Used it for a 2012 toyota tundra front speakers 6x9. No cutting needed, just screw it up and go. I used used thin foam to Secure it to the door panel and to the speaker. Worked exactly as described, very easy to use, compatible with the 6x9 speaker and door.

Adapted the speakers for my car perfectly. They worked great. Speakers sound awesome, with no distortion.

Works as expected. Fits perfect in 2011 tacoma front doors. Though only 3 screws fit into the pre drilled speaker mounting holes, i had to drill the 4th myself but that will depend on the speakers you use.

This adapter allowed me to replace my Toyota FJ Cruiser factory front door speakers with Pioneer 6x9 speakers. Very happy thanks.
