Cat's Cradle (Klutz): A Book of String Figures

I bought this as a gift for an 11 year old and she has had hours of amusement from it. The diagrams are really clear and colourful. I especially liked the fact that the book is spiral bound, so you can open to a page and it will stay there without closing again. This useful when your hands are occupied with the string! The included string is good quality and still going strong after many months - no fraying at all. I would definitely recommend this book; it’s a good, old fashioned pastime.

Had this as a child and loved it so thought I’d buy it for my friends daughters for Christmas, fantastic book with coloured coded string making the directions so easy to follow. Will give hours of fun and such a good price point for a token gift.

I purchase this for my four children who absolulty loved it! I myself used to attempt this as a child with my sister using a piece of string and it brought hours of fun. The book comes with its own colourful string, highly illustrative descriptions that are easy to follow and the quality is great. This has been a trip down memory lane and something that I have been able to share with my children. 5 Stars...

A really good book about the old play favourite Cat's Cradle. I wasn't sure my grandchildren, aged 7 and 5, would find this as interesting as children of my era did, in far simpler times - but they were fascinated, and so pleased when they able to do create the patterns themselves. A really nice book AND with the " string " included - a good bargain.

Nice to buy some of these old school toys sometimes and watch the excitement of children's minds. Although you can just get any piece of yarn and make it yourself, this came with a book which has pictures and 'how to make' other cats cradle shapes with your hands. Kept my little one busy for a while, she is 9 and often gets it out when she is bored so we can play. Bit expensive for what it is, but worth it in terms of the time she has spent playing with it.

I loved cat's cradle when I was young and went on to do macrame' and tapestry weaving - The 'boy next door' introduced me to Cats Cradle and he went on to achieve a Duke of Endinburgh's gold award and was a very good yachtsman (a knowledge of knots helps you with many things) this helps a childs imagination and dexterity too - and makes a friend as it is great to share the games with someone.

Bought this book for my neices birthday. She had been playing cats cradle with a piece of wool that was far too short and as her birthday was around the corner I set out to find a good quality string for her to have some serious fun with :) I found this one almost straight away and at such a bargain price how I could say no!! I had a good go at the exercises myself before wrapping up hehe! It went down a treat on the day and I'm sure it'll be worn out before we know it!! A really ht with all the family, everyone has had a go. Brings back memories of when I was a girl in the playground, although I think mine was elasticated

My 10 year old daughter and her friends have loved this product. The instructions are easy to follow and as they get used to it they manage the creations independent of the book. For an old fashioned toy, both boys and girls have been clamouring for a go at school play times. The string is very durable. Highly recommended.

I bought this as a stocking stuffer for my 12 year old twin daughters. They loved it and were able to learn all of the different games with the instructions in the book.

Bought as Xmas present for my granddaughter whose mum enjoyed the game as a youngster. Hope the GD does too.
