Exact replacement part I needed. It took me less than 5 minutes to install. I saved a ton of money fixing this myself. It works perfectly and worth every penny compared to the hundreds I might have paid to call someone out to fix it.

Ytpoools - 242044020, 242044008 Refrigerator Defrost Heater kit, Compatible With Frigidaire
This unit fit my Frigidaire top freezer just fine as far as length and height goes. Plugs ends snapped right into place also. Installed it about 4 days ago on 8/25/25 and seems to be holding up so far. I'm not going to give 5 stars yet until I see how it holds up after a few more weeks. The heater kit tubing is a little on the skinny side compared to my original heater tubing so that concerns me a little and I'll wait and see how long this thing actually holds up. My freezer was freezing up about 3 days after a full defrost and it kept freezing up the cold air vents from cooling down the fridge before I installed the new Heater Kit. So far now after 4 days I see no ice build-up yet and both the fridge and freezer are good now so its doing its job so far.

It works
Every time we get a power surge and outage, the defrost element goes out. But I have never tried this brand. The original and 1 cheaper replacement have gone out. But this is a pretty simple fix after watching it on YouTube.

A better choice than the OEM heater
The defrost heater, after fit with an adapter, fit in my Hipoint refrigerator nicely. This item costs only $25 instead of $100 or more of the OEM parts. I am happy with the purchase.

Worked as it should, fixed my fridge, basically it acts to defrost ice off your cooling coil in your freezer. If your freezer part of your fridge is ice cold, and your fridge section is warm, check to see if ice is blocking the airways from the freezer section to your fridge section. If you defrost your freezer, your fridge works fine for 2-3 days, then gets warm again, this could solve the problem.
