Bleh, not great, could be worse. But it's only the price that makes it worth buying.
I will start with the positives. The price is one of the best. The brightness is great, caveat, as long as you have a shallower tank. The dimensions are OK, fairly thin and narrow. Now the negatives. The size is extremely misleading. It states for tanks 18 to 24 inches yet the actual lighting part is only 12.5 inches and lopsided in the fixture (see pics). There is about an inch at one end and almost 2.5 inches at the other end of the fixture, which already is only 16" long. So it doesn't have the lighting coverage that you would expect. The light also doesn't have much penetrating depth. So while for shallow tanks it's great as the depth increases the lighting ability falls off fast. So overall the lighting isn't bad but not any better than the fluorescent shoplight I replaced with this light. Which had coverage from end to end and no huge spaces at either end of the fixture, costing way less. The LED display which is used to control the light is subpar. The control readout is extremely hard to see and even in the best of positions is barely acceptable. It is usually unreadable (see Pic). The lighting control program also doesn't seem to be as good as advertised. All my four lights have occasionally lost their settings. They either fail to come on, go off or fail to switch properly from day to night. Which leaves me having to unplug them and plug them back in, then reset the time. The touch sensitive buttons controlling the clock could be the problem as even breathing on them strongly could trigger a change. Be very careful when working on your tank or adding fish, heck, be careful even feeding them as the slightest brush of the control will change the lighting. Lastly, and I am unsure how to judge this yet, is the fixture's resistance to water. It is definitely not water proof. I accidentally knocked one end of the light into the tank. Although I almost immediately picked it back out there was already a lot of water in the fixture. I drained it out and it is currently working fine. Only time will tell if that amount of water was trouble. I also was lucky that I didn't drop the end with the power cord and electronics into the water.OK let's see here. Light not bad but far from the best. Lighting area deceptive and way smaller than expected from description. Control readout is poor at best. Controlling function is a hit or miss, frequently loosing it's setting and needing to be unplugged, plugged back in and reset. Not waterproof. Seems that it's only the price, and the promise of controlling the light like natures lighting that makes this light barely worth getting. I know personally if I was doing this over these wouldn't be the ones I bought.

This tank light is one to have!!!!
I really like this fish tank light so much I bought two and plan on buying another one and even persuaded a friend to buy on and he absolutely love it! One size is for the 10 gallon tank and the tank below in the pics is a 5.5 gallon rimless tank. Keep in mind I had these lights for nearly a year before posting this review to make sure they're good and so far they are. My friend bought one for his 20 long tank and he fricking loves it! The cool features are the timers and how it fades into moonlight when programmed. Buy one you won't regret it!Updated pics since I rearranged and moved the tanks around. The lights are still running great!

Gets very hot but maybe that's good in winter?
I love that I don't need to find the cord to flip a switch on. This is easy to turn on at your aquarium lid. I do hate setting it up whenever I disconnect/lose power; I actually gave up programming it because it is so frustrating and overly complicated the third time around. I just use the default day pattern now. Cycling through all the colors is incredibly annoying just to find white too...I wish that was a button all on its own. The colors are so dim on their own that the tank is dark when you cycle through anything but white (who needs to see a black version of all the rainbow colors when trying to find just white?) It's an overly complicated mess with too few buttons to program and to find ON + WHITE. A few limited buttons do all the on/off, clock, dimming, colors, programming. If you don't find the booklet after a power outage, good luck remembering what to press and long-hold if you need something that is not a default. I did want to mention the benefit (or possibly the detraction?) of this light is that the aquarium water in a small 10G tank heats up quite a bit (several degrees at the top of the water). My betta would love the extra light warmth if I didn't already have a heater and this was his tank. I just hope the fiery heat keeps everything safe and doesn't damage the plastic joint of my glass top lid. I was thinking about a heater in a shrimp tank for the winter, and this light is probably a good substitute for a heater if you just need a couple degrees more up top. My strong filter churns the water to dissipate heat build up, and it is noticeably warmer water (measured with a thermometer).

Bright, weird schedule
First off, the default color temperature is pretty high up on the kelvin scale (aka, pure white, almost saltwater style, not quite blue). I'm not sure how to change that even though the color temperature is listed as a range. I do not like the default schedule, it does a weird overlap with the "moon light", the moon light runs way too long into the night, and the default brightness on the moon light is way too high. If you change the brightness during the moon light period you kill the schedule and must manually turn the light off to go back into normal mode. Weird. What is also weird is the light does not remember the time when unplugged. It does like a full factory reset if it loses power for any reason. I have not tried the custom schedule mode, for fear that it will be hard to customize in the clunky interface and if I screw up it will not remember any settings on a power off reset. If you are willing to live with all that, and use the default schedule, it's a great LED light! I have the 26W version and it fits/lights perfectly an ADA Cube Garden 45-F. I wish the default sunrise and sunset were way more yellow, they seem to just ramp the intensity of a very neutral white constant color temperature the same as the mid day setting.
