Top Gear - The Perfect Road Trip

Bought this for my son for xmas 2013....We are both top gear fans and have all the series and the extra special dvd's. This did not disappoint as to the high standards and funny factor!!! Wicked dvd and a really good price. All fun to watch it again and again on a rainy day!!!

Seven days, more than 1,000 miles, 20 cars, two boats, a motorbike and one dream...The Perfect Road Trip. The aim: to select the ideal mode of transport for each leg of a pilgrimage from Venice, Italy to Pau in France – home to a legendary street circuit and the origins of Grand Prix racing. On the way we prepare by taking to the track at Monza – the home of Italian Formula One. We try to get noticed on the road course in Monaco in a Bugatti, a Lamborghini and a Model T Ford. After cruising the canals in Venice we take to the tarmac and things look good - thanks to the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and Mercedes SLS Black. Throw in a Pagani Huayra, Porsche Cayman S and a GT3 as well as the Aston Martin Vanquish centenary edition, Bentley V8 convertible, Rolls Royce Phantom coupe and the face-bending BAC Mono all seems pretty perfect to us. There’s culture too. An all-out effort to get the Birmingham burger-boy to savour the culinary delights of Italy and France – including octopus and an old balcony. Then it’s time to turn up the heat even more with a Top Gear race... and the worst forfeit in television history Finally we head to the historic road course in Pau. The top gear perfect road trip DVD came the next day in brand new condition. Love Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson and James May and Richard Hammond. Even though James May wasn't starring in Top Gear perfect road trip he was there in spirit. Loved Top Gear since I moved back to the UK from Germany back in 2002. Shame the BBC fired Jeremy Clarkson. Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond were the ones that made Top Gear Fantastic to watch.

This DVD has all the usual jokes, challenges, thrills and spills, but I felt it was lacking that special something that makes regular 1-hour TV episodes of Top Gear so brilliant. James May's absence probably doesn't help (I really feel that if you're going to make a Top Gear DVD then you need all 3 of the presenters), but even with that aside it still doesn't quite do the show justice. Worth a watch, but it won't be my most treasured DVD by far.

I really loved this. It's just typical Top Gear (indeed, better than the TV show really) - with more emphasis on the cars themselves. Lots of great camera-work and some good laughs along the way. If you like Top Gear you'll love this. The Blu Ray is stunning as well. Great picture.

I really enjoyed watching this Top Gear the perfect road trip. A must for any fans of Top Gear.

To start with i ordered it with next day delivery and it didnt turn up so had to contact amazon for another copy to be sent but they were very helpful and the item arrived within 2 days. item arrived and its good condition and will be a perfect christmas present. Slightly annoyed that i brought it when it was £12.99 and went to write this review 3 days later and its gone down to £9.99 though!

What better place to start a road trip than on a boat? If your name is Clarkson or Hammond then of course it makes good sense to do so. Leaving the boat they don their usual Top Gear persona and have a great time driving some pretty impressive cars across Europe while challenging each other to greater and greater excess. That it's a film for petrolheads there is no denying, but those who simply want to watch two middle-aged men acting like teenagers can also derive quite a bit of amusement and escapism from this dvd. My biggest laugh was at what happened to them at the film's end. In Hammond's final comment, "You idiot, Clarkson!", there was a very apt full stop.

Wer das Trio mag kommt hier wie immer auf seine kosten. Auch wenn James May nicht dabei ist.

Typiquement Top Gear avec Jeremy Clarkson et Philip (the hamster) Hammond. Un peu dessous par la façon que le voyage se termine.

Im sure the program itself is wonderful had I been able to watch it. I ordered from this company because although it said import, I couldn't find anything about being a regional specific Bluray. After contacting the company after waiting three weeks for it to arrive, they cooly told me that they only sold regional specific blurays and it said so in their comments section. I wouldn't have ordered it had I found that information prior to ordering.

This dvd came from the UK. Being from the states you cannot watch it even with an open coded blu ray player. Keeping it as a keep sake regardless as a collectible. Huge fan of the show and after finally being able to see the episode, this one is well worth it.
