It's practical and looks good! Perfect for serving Japanese tea for two.
I have now bought this in two different sizes but this size (450ml) is perfect for two and the one I use the most. I highly recommend it, especially for Japanese sencha tea or flowering teas. The capacity is enough for two decent (M) sized cups or 3 small Japanese style cups. Being made out of glass, not only makes it visually more appealing when you're serving the tea but it gives the benefit of being able to see the tea as it is brewing - so instead of timing each infusion (which is essential for serving sencha) you can judge how long to brew the tea based on how dark the colour of the tea is. The glass is good quality and strong and the spout is excellent for pouring. The small spout makes the teapot less prone to getting knocked or damaged and much easier to clean. What is unique about this teapot is the shield around the lid which makes it much easier to stay on while pouring. The teapot is well made with no ugly joins, it's comfortable to hold and also looks very elegant with its simple shape. The design is closer to the traditional ceramic Japanese teapots than most other glass teapots on the market (which are more western and fragile). The strainer looks quite good quality but I never use it because I prefer to give my tea leaves more space to expand and then pour with a strainer. The only gripe I have is that the brand name (Hario) and the words "made in Japan" has been printed on the right side of the teapot. It's very subtle but it would look better on the base.

Highly Recommended
Perfect little glass teapot, holds about 2 1/2 cups of tea. I use mine for loose leaf herbal tea and it functions as it should, easy to clean and looks beautiful. The lid will need holding when pouring otherwise it will fall as there is no lip to keep in place, the spout does not drip and it is weighted nicely. It is a light weight teapot and the handle is big enough to grip with a hand rather than a finger. The metal insert just pulls out so you can use for the unfurling flower teas, which by the way really set the teapot off. Arrived before due date and packaged in a small cardboard box and bubble wrap and a tape saying 'fragile' around it. I highly recommend.

Fantastic teapot - but be aware it is fragile!
I was very happy with this teapot. It was particularly good for Japanese green teas. I liked to use it when I didn't want to use a gaiwan. Sadly, it broke after several months of use. I dropped the lid onto the main body from about 5 to 10 cm away. That was enough to crack the top rim. Once cracked the heat change from water will soon make it worse. So it had to be thrown away. I'd loved to buy another as it really is a superb teapot. It's hard to find an alternate kyusu style teapot with fine filter at this price. Sadly, I have a hand tremor so I'd almost certainly break the new one too! So, 5 stars for the teapot, but loses a star for being very fragile. If you can take care of it you'll be very happy with it. But I certainly wouldn't recommend putting it in a dishwasher, etc. It needs careful, deliberate use.

Finally - A Perfect Teapot!
So elegant and delicate! More importantly, it makes a delicious cup of tea with no stray bits of tea getting into the cup - as the lid is very cleverly covers the whole of the infuser, which traps the tea grains when you pour. I have to say I also love the thought & care that went into the packaging - I had worried that coming all the way from Japan, there might be an accident on the way. I also found a tiny little gift tucked into the top of the box - a lovely touch. Was so impressed i have ordered another as a gift. I feel a tea ceremony coming on ...

Japanese excellence
First things first - this is a 450ml product, not 500ml as in the Amazon headline. (It says so on the box.) It is well crafted and pours better than any other teapot I have owned. The metal basket is large, so the leaves can move freely after you add the water, and is well made: a little delicate, but better than I expected. It should survive careful hand washing. Safest to hold the lid in place when pouring, as it can fall off at 'maximum pour' angle. Very satisfying to use, and relaxing to watch as the leaves infuse. That's Japan for you - practicality with art.

Nice but small
Smaller than imagined when ordering but good quality. Only of use for one or so cups

A Study In Funcion Is Beautiful Too
I have used the larger version of this teapot at a local tea room and found the design both beautiful and functional. Everything about it is so well designed. It doesn't drip when pouring, you can see when your tea is brewed to your liking, the lid fits back on even without the strainer in place (you'd be surprised how many pots with built in strainers don't) and the mesh is so fine you don't get any tea escaping. It's also easy to clean up with no awkward nooks and crannies. Being a fan of tea in general and oolong in particular, I had to have one for home use. This is the 450 ml size and is just the right size for either two small traditional tea cups or if you've no restraint like me, one whopping mug. I also can't fault the seller as the item arrived from Japan in 11 days and was well packaged. Price wise, it's a bargain. There is one UK specialist coffee seller charging an eye watering £35 for this very item - not even the larger size either!

Beautiful and Elegant
It's very elegant and you can enjoy the diffusion from the tea bag to the water. It's very light and great for 2 cups of green tea. The downside is that I need to be very careful with the cover when I pour the team into my cup.

Beautiful little teapot, just wish it was slightly bigger
I broke the one the missus had, so I bought this as a replacement. Came on time and for a decent price. It’s small, light, and the clear glass looks great — slim, sleek, and really minimal. The only thing worth mentioning is the size: it’s on the smaller side, so you do end up refilling it fairly often. Most of the time I don’t mind because I don’t love my tea steeping for too long and getting overly strong — the smaller volume actually gives me more control and keeps each pour tasting fresh. That said, every now and then I do wish it was just a little bigger. Even 100ml more would make it pretty much perfect. Overall I’m still really happy with it and would recommend.

Tetera hermosa

So cute!
Loved it! I wanted a cute teapot since a really long time and its japanese brand! Amazing quality and beautiful minimalistic design! Comes with a stainless steel stainer and can be used for loose green tea, matcha leaves etc. The size is ideal for 2 cups. Value for money and easy to use!
