Use with caution
I bought this to mix with a conditioner and use as a toner for brassy blonde hair. It was VERY powerful and I used too much. My hair went purple. But in terms of what it’s meant to do then brilliant, it obviously works! Just be careful if using for toning.

Extremely Disappointing Purple Dye
I previously bought the blue hair dye from this brand, and it worked amazingly well. Because of that great experience, I trusted the brand completely and bought their purple dye with full confidence. Unfortunately, the results were extremely disappointing. My hair’s base color is level 7, almost level 8 — very light — so any decent dye should have no problem showing up. But despite the light base and applying the product thoroughly and evenly, the purple dye still had very weak coverage and poor color payoff. A lot of sections didn’t take the color at all, and the parts that did developed into strange, inconsistent shades: grayish purple, bluish purple, dull gray-blue, and even a muddy greenish tint. Considering how well their blue dye performed, this product was a huge letdown. I definitely wouldn’t recommend the purple dye.

More for corrections but still a nice colour
If you're looking for violet this is not the way to go unless your hair is really bleached and you use 2 jars for long hair. I find it doesn't stain as much as other manic panic colours though it washes a bit quicker too. Nonetheless, if you're looking for a nice blue hair colour and/or to reduce/correct green/teal hair then this is a good alternative if you are willing to experiment ;)

Wrong Colour! But looks and feels nice
My hair is green. GREEN. and I used this dye yesterday. I think part of it may be user error? But it says to apply to clean hair and I don't know if that means just shampooed or if it means shampoo and conditioner or what. I think the colour of the conditioner I may not have rinsed out properly interfered but it shouldn't? I'm mostly just annoyed that even if it looks and feels good my hair is the wrong colour.

After Midnight
After Midnight: This colour is gorgeous over bleached hair, a rich sapphire blue. For me, over dark blonde/light brown roots, it turned a dark green. I ended up mixing this with Raven (black) to make a really dark blue and retouched the green for a better result. But that's just my experience with my wonky hair. One thing I will say is that I underestimated just how much blue dye STAINS! Wear gloves during every stage. Even several days later when washing your hair. Don't wash while in the shower as the you'll end up with blue streaks down your body. Use old towels. Put an old tshirt over your pillow case because it will be covered completely blue by morning. As will your forehead, temples, ears, neck and back. Even after a week of washing. If you can cope/prepare for this, the colour is absolutely worth it!

Brilliant colour
Good product. My hair is silver naturally and it takes well but because its made to go primarily over bleached hair it probably fades quicker than it should. But I LOVE the colour. Recommended

Make sure you bleach - fantastic colour
Works really well, easy to apply, make sure you use a tinting brush and have a comb you're happy to cover in hair dye. I have light brown hair so I bleached the sections I wanted to dye beforehand, got a bit on the brown hair by accident and the colour doesn't show up at all on those sections, only tints it slightly. So, if you want nice and brightly colored hair make sure it's pre-lightened. It's also great because you can use as much or little as you need and able to top it up as required.

I really wanted a temporary purple hair dye and this one works perfectly! I can go from bright neon purple, to lavender, to toned blond hair. I can have a fun break with neon hair and then go back to work two weeks later, and no one knows I had neon hair. Not only does it fade out of my hair perfectly without leaving any green pigment, it also perfectly tones my hair and takes out any brassiness, leaving me with the perfect white-blond shade I've been looking for. I have shoulder length blond hair and used this 3 times before I ran out. Granted, the first two times I used mainly white conditioner with a little bit of purple to get a nice lavender. The third time I used mainly the dye with a little bit of conditioner and left it on for about an hour. The only suggestion I have is to be careful with the dye itself. I would suggest washing your head out under bathtub faucet before taking a shower. The dye is such vibrant and will stain white surfaces if you aren't careful. If you're looking for a permanent neon dye over darker hair- this isn't for you. However, if you're looking for a temporary fun change with lighter hair- 100% would recommend. Definitely will be buying again. I included two pictures of my hair a couple days after I had dyed it and what color it was originally. (Note- it was significantly brighter than what you see in the pictures) The picture with my blond hair was a couple days after I had dyed it lavender- it faded out perfectly and left my hair white-blond. I didn't take any pictures of it while it was lavender, but it worked great! For the neon dye I used about half the container of dye with maybe 1 tablespoon of white conditioner. For lavender, I used about 1/4th of the dye to about 2/3rds cup of white conditioner for my shoulder-length hair. I would recommend leaving it on for at least an hour. USE GLOVES

I had very low expectations for this dye, apart from completing younger-me's dream of being like the emo cool kids with their Manic Panic dye. My hair has some sort of magical resistance to holding dye (I've had home-grade permanent dye wash out in a week, amongst many, many other attempts at coloring my hair) so I bought this on the basis that it was cheap enough I wouldn't be upset if it was a flop. I have quite short hair, and bought a jar of Manic Panic Purple Haze to mix it with, and I estimate I'll get 8-10 dye jobs total out of the two jars. The color of both of the dyes mixed is very pretty. I put it over dark blonde hair (somewhere between a 5 and 7 depending on what chart you use) and got a nice, strong purple. It's darker than I expected, but that's on me. As for longevity- this dye did a great job. I have grown out bleached highlights in my hair, so at the ends there was some bleached areas, but the rest of my hair is untouched. The first time I put this dye in, it lasted about three weeks, with the bleached bits still retaining some color- although definitely faded. I should note that I do use a quite color-unfriendly shampoo, which also didn't help it. The picture is after I dyed it again tonight, which came out even better than the first (the unbleached parts of my hair didn't take to the dye the first time, and turned a sort of grey). The most recent time, I put the dye in before I washed my hair, left it in for about 1h30min, put a lot on, and blow dried it with a makeshift dye cap, which I think greatly improved my results. I think on any normal hair, this dye could easily last a month, maybe longer. Whenever I use up the jars I have now- which I feel may take a while- I'll definitely be trying another Manic Panic colour!

何を使ってもやっぱりマニパニにはかないません! 半年くらい黒髪でいましたが、耐えきれず、グリーンに続きバイオレット、春はピンクで夏はホワイトの予定です。

It was a nice experience with Manic Panic :) but yes it's semi-permanent and is expected to wash away into lighter shades in couple of washes, a pH based colour protecting shampoo is recommended.

I never give one stars but hear me out… I’ve used manic panic for years never spoke a bad word of them till now. My local suppliers didn’t have ultra violet so in purchased it here. My blue and pink I bought locally worked perfectly, the oriole on the other hand isn’t even a slight bit on my hair. It was bleached to pure blonde and nothing. Even from the consistency it doesn’t look right. I feel I’ve been sent an expired product. I am so disappointed and won’t be buying dye from Amazon again. If I was you who ever is reading this just but the hair dye in person as manic panic is a brilliant brand.
