Great salt and pepper mills, good value for money.

Bought this from Amazon (not an Amazon seller), arrived in good time and condition and was fantastic value. Looks very attractive & is practical due to the inverted design, and as others have said, leaves no mess when stored in the cupboard but would not suggest leaving it out for long periods of time in case of dust collection. Having said that it is easy to clean & easy to refill by pulling out the rubber stopper, which fits snugly back in again. I have not experienced any problems so would highly recommend this set. Update 2017: Both mills are still in great working order. Both mechanisms are ceramic, the C&M website advises against submerging them in water to clean and to keep the mechanism dry or air dry before use (use a damp cloth to wipe only). This year I did have difficulty with the pepper mill (stopped grinding) so decided to check here in case there were any tips in the reviews but instead found information elsewhere which helped. The peppercorn mill stopped grinding but it appeared to be due to a build up of residues from grinding peppercorns. I took some advise to use rock salt (another suggestion was uncooked rice) and grind it through to clean the mechanism and this worked great. Back to a perfect set! I wonder if the 'quality' of peppercorn/ salt makes a difference to how long the mills last (after seeing so many reviews recently which say they are not well built - these had great 5* reviews back when I bought them!) such as size of peppercorns & rock salt, and how firm they are or how well they keep.

I bought Inverta flip last week after a lot of research. It arrived on time and was well packaged. The design was contemporary and looked good. Performance of the mill is smooth no jerky movements as if a pepper corn is stuck between the grinders. There is no mess on the counters. Refilling the mill is so easy. Just remove the black stopper under the mill, refill and replace the stopper. I would say it is perfect product at a perfect price.

I bought this set about 2 years ago. One broke about 6 months after, and I replacet it. While its a very good salt and pepper mill, the mechanism breaks after a while. I kept them and forgot to return them back, as they promise a life time garentee . It's over two years I called customer service Cole and Mason. The lady was lovely and asked me to email them with the problem and take photos of them. I didn't even need to send the old ones back. Two weeks latter they sent me two sets !!! I have never had such good service and less hassle regarding a return. I would definitely buy Cole and Mason again.

Bought these to replace worn out mills which had done 20 years grinding. Love these as they don't leave a mess as they grind from top.

Over the last few years we have tried many salt and pepper mills, both battery-operated and manual but they have all had major design faults. The battery ones never seem to be strong enough to grind peppercorns and finding a decent salt mill is always a challenge. Finding a pair that both worked effectively appeared to be impossible. I read through the Amazon reviews on many sets before deciding on these, and awaited them with trepidation - would they be yet another waste of money? I am pleased to say that they are excellent at their job as well as looking handsome and of course there's no mess, either. A very simple, thoughtful and functional design. Well done, Cole and Mason.

Tanto el diseño como la calidad del material y de la molienda, por fin encontré un modelo que funcione! Y es práctico, al no tener la piedra de moler hacia abajo, no ensucia todo cada vez que lo dejas en la mesa.

Endlich haben wir das gefunden, was wir schon lange suchten, kleine, optisch ansprechende Pfeffer- bzw. Salzmuehlen mit Keramikmahlwerk die auch in einer kleinen Kueche Platz finden. Der Artikel kam schnell und ordentlich verpackt hier an und hat all unsere Erwartungen erfuellt. Dies schrieb ich am 13. Mai 2013, zwei Tage vor der Rückgabefrist bei Amazon, da die Ware am 15.April gekauft wurde. Heute, am 21. Mai 2013 muß ich einen Nachtag schreiben. Zwar hatte die o.g Artikel alle unser Erwartungen erfüllt, aber leider nur bis heute, denn heute beim Kochen zerfiel die eine Muehle in zwei Teile. Dabei musste ich feststellen, das die Teile im Prinzip nur lose ineinander gesteckt sind und auf Dauer den "normalen" Belastungen im Haushalt gar nicht standhalten können. Hätte ich diesen Umstand beim auspacken und anschauen bemerkt, so wären diese Muehlen sofort zurück gegangen. So hab ich zu dem Verdruß auch noch den Ärger und muss schauen, ob und wie diese Reklamation abgewickelt wird, da bei Amazon nur binnen 30 Tagen eine einfache Rücksendung akzeptiert wird. Bin mal neigierig wie das gehandhabt wird.

Prodotto inglese di qualità eccelsa. meccanismo di ceramica regolabile, materiali robusti e di qualità, design moderno. molto pulito il sistema poichè si macina da un lato e si ripone il macinino dall'altro: non si sporca nulla!!! ottimo!
