The packaging was nice. The wire came assembled. The wire cutter seems to be of nice quality. But the controller is all scratched/scuffed up and was not protected or in a bag to protect it. The knife’s wood is very cheap and a little splintered around the hole, but I wasn’t going to use it anyways. It looks like it will work well and everything else was in good condition. The instructions were nice but did have a typo, so it was likely written by a person with english as a second language. The metal was sturdier than I expected and the plastic was lighter in weight than I expected. The knob is firm and turns smoothly, and clicks when off. The stand is surprisingly firm, when the metal is lifted, it snaps into place. It suggests turning off for cool-down after 30 minutes of use and is for low-density foam only. I will update after using.

Go slow. I used it to trim some upholstery foam. The wire is small and it would cool off if trying to go too fast. Patience was a virtue. It got me through the project I ordered it for. Happy I bought it.

Works great for short period of time. If you use any of the attachments for any length of time, they will start to melt and lose their grip of the heating element. Pros: Adjustable temp depending on the attachment. Quick and easy swap of attachments. Cons: Overheats at the base if used for any length of time causing the metal element to 'melt' out or dislodge from the attachment base.

This product is poorly made. I bought it to cut foam for a gauges I was protecting and for carving out the excess foam. The device fell apart and melted where the metal joins the plastic. This was only after using it for 20 minutes and cutting foam less than 12 inches long, so not a lot of use. The foam I was using was not very dense either so the tool should have been able to cut through it. Ended up using a hacksaw blade and using some 3M glue to make it all work. Also don't breathe in the smells while cutting the foam. Overall try a blade or something else. I threw it away and didn't even want to deal with the return or refund.

Love it! Purchased this to Cut 2 inch pink foam insulation for a backdrop for VBS. Came out awesome.

I found the product in good condition but unfortunately I have not yet started using it. But I checked and tasted all the items: 1. AC/DC Adapter (input 110-220V output 9V max) with regulator is working. 2. All the 4 attachments (as shown in the product's photo) are working. 3. I also found one round headed knife, one marker pen, one roll of extra hot (nichrome) wire and one resting stand for the cutting tool inside the box. As of now the product seems to be of good quality and useful for standard or xps foam cutting specially for artists and for those who love perfection in their art work. For diaroma art work it is a must tool kit. Overall the product is sufficient lightweight for fine art work. Finally, it is little expensive for a beginner artist. I shall try my best to submit my follow-on review after some time, when I shall start using it for my diaroma art work.

The Hot Foam Cutter with digital Voltage Controller works really well for cutting high-density packaging and seating foam, 29-200, which is very easy to use, and I am pleased with the product.
