They are my favourite and tasty!
I love this product, it's delicate and sweet in the taste and very much like mochi texture and taste. I would've bought more but due to the cost, It is rather expensive item. ๐ But I do love it and I recommend it :)

Nice mochi sweets
The YAMASAN KYOTO UJI Japanese Mochi Candy, specifically the Habutae mochi variety, has been a curious addition to my snack drawer. Priced at ยฃ13.99 for a 300g pack, it's positioned on the premium end of the confectionery spectrum, which set my expectations quite high. True to its promise, the mochi candy delivers an experience that's both novel and delightful, akin to biting into a cloud if one could. The texture is indeed a cross between a marshmallow and a fruit pastel chewy sweet, offering a unique mouthfeel that's both soft and satisfying. Each mochi piece is like a tiny pillow of sweetness, enveloping your taste buds in a subtle sugary embrace that's not overwhelming but rather gentle. The candies come in two colours, though I struggled to discern any significant difference in flavour between them; the variation seems purely aesthetic. Despite their uniform taste, the simplicity of the flavour - which centres primarily on sweetness - is its own kind of allure, especially if you prefer treats that aren't too rich or overpowering. However, the individual wrapping of each mochi piece, while convenient for on-the-go snacking, does seem a tad excessive from an environmental standpoint. I also found myself wishing for a bit more variety or intensity in the flavour profile, to elevate the experience beyond just the intriguing texture and the novelty of the product. Pros: ๐ก Exceptionally soft, unique texture that's a pleasure to eat. ๐ก Not overly sweet, making them easy to enjoy without palate fatigue. ๐ก Individually wrapped for convenience and hygiene. Cons: ๐ธ On the pricier side for the quantity offered. ๐ Potentially excessive packaging. ๐ฌ Limited flavour variety, with little to no discernible difference between the two colours. In conclusion, the YAMASAN KYOTO UJI Japanese Mochi Candy offers a fascinating glimpse into artisanal Japanese confectionery, with its standout texture and delicate sweetness. While the price and packaging may give some pause, and the flavour could benefit from greater depth, it's a commendable choice for those looking to explore the softer, subtler side of sweets.

really tasty and affordable
This product comes inside a plastic package; inside the package, you'll find 20 individually wrapped mochi cubes. These mochi cubes are different colours, but I can't taste a difference in flavour, so I believe these are all the same. As of review, this product costs ยฃ12.90, making each Mochi worth about 64p. This price is expensive but worth it, considering Japanese candies can get on the more unaffordable (instead of just expensive) side. I have never tried Mochi before; it does taste quite nice (a bit bland, but it is excellent); it was a lovely tasting experience. It had a similar texture to marshmallow - just a bit more squishy, but it was very pillow-like, fluffy and aerated. From the ingredients list, this product does seem vegetarian. There isn't any wine or something like this in the product, but I would make sure yourself if you have any dietary requirements. The products are sweet while still being a bit bland - they are very friendly and go well with some lovely tea; I recommend this product thoroughly.

Bland and expensive. ๐ฌ
I think that these Japanese Mochi Candies are a little bland. I'd prefer them if they had some flavour. They are nice and chewy though and feel nice in my mouth. I think that they are too pricey for what they are too. I wouldn't get them again but I'd try other flavours. ๐ฌ

Natural and nice
These Mochi Candy are very nice. They have a light flavour and consistency. They are easy for me to just snip the top off each little bag and squidge my treat up and out. Just to test another way of opening, the little individual sachet is also very simple to tear, to get my next Mochi candy out easily. Although they are squeezy they are light and easy to eat with a consistency a bit like undusted turkish delight but lighter to bite and with a much gentler slight sweet rice taste. They are great for throwing a few in my bag for a quick snack, a bit moreish, Iโve just eaten 6 writing this review. No artificial colours flavours or additives plus fat free, Salt free and cholesterol free. Yum.

Beautiful texture, but not a lot of flavour
These proved to be super popular in my household - especially with my eldest son, who even messaged me at work to ask if he could have another one! I thought they were a lovely texture, very soft jelly with a super smooth sugary coating (imagine a turkish delight but without the icing sugar which gets everywhere, the stickiness or the perfume flavour!) You could tell these were not your standard jelly sweets, they just had a lovely feel to them, both in your mouth and in your hand. The only disappointment for me is that the flavour was so delicate that I couldn't really say if they were actually meant to have a flavour at all. That aside, and strangely enough, that wasn't a big deal for any of us - we just liked them! A little pricey at almost ยฃ14, but worth it for a special treat.
