To my surprise, all 13 locks and catches have remained securely attached to my cabinets. I haven't tried to see how much force it would take to rip them loose, but I have exerted way more force than any toddler can exert and these locks haven't budged. I installed them on 3/4" solid cherry cabinets and they hold and release perfectly. The magnet opened the lock within about 1/4 " of touching the cabinet. I normally just touch the cabinet with the magnet and have never had a lock not release. You need to align the catch part properly to the frame. I find you want a bout 1/16" to 1/8" gap between the catch and the lock's hook when closed. In other words there should be a slight bit of play so that the door can open just a bit before it hots the catch. This allows the latch to securely engage when the door closes and also prevents the catch from holding the lock arm fro disengaging when using the magnet. If you affix the catch too far back, the lock may not catch - or it may catch tightly so the magnet doesn't have enough power to unlatch it. On my frames and with the snubbers on my doors this means the front edge of the catch sticks out about 1/8" to 3/16" past the frame. You only see this when the door is open. (The back edge of the catch is about flush with the back of the frame.) Review: Adhesive is garbage. Donโt waste your money! - I stupidly purchased 3 sets of these locks. We were foolishly optimistic about this screw-less childproof option to prevent damage to our newly installed, custom wood cabinets. Did not work AT ALL. We had them installed, per the instructions. The adhesive is garbage. Most attachments fell off even before we set the locks. The few that remained failed when engaged. The tension created from trying to open a locked drawer/cabinet was enough to detach the adhesive from either or both sides. The adhesive literally had the resistance equivalent to clear scotch tape. Maybe itโs the summer humidity, but either way these were COMPLETELY USELESS and a waste of time and money!! There is nothing โchildproofโ or safe about these!

Easy install, great for keeping kids out of cabinets!
These child safety locks work great. I was hesitant because of the comparatively low price as compared to the other magnetic locks. The product came with 16 locks and 3 keys, as well as 3 magnetic discs to mount for storing the keys. They were easy to install -- the adhesive installation was SOOOO much better than the latches I have previously installed which required multiple tiny screws for each latch. However, it is a little bit tricky to get them positioned just right on the cabinet -- too high and the cabinet won't close, too low and it won't latch. The adhesive seemed to be somewhat repositionable, when I placed it incorrectly I was able to remove it and re-stick it and the strength of the adhesive did not seem to have diminished. You are able to disengage the locks if you don't want them to latch, which is a very nice feature. We have only been using them for about a week but so far they are doing their job, our 14 month old can no longer unload our kitchen cabinets!

Good for cabinets, not for drawers
These are awesome! We just remodeled our kitchen, so I am soooo glad I don't have to screw into my brand new cabinets to mount these child locks. All worked properly, mounted securely, and installation was a breeze. I love that you can "deactivate" them to have them in the unlocked position for when the littles are away or they are no longer needed. I only wish the magnet was stronger so it would work on my drawers. The drawers are too thick for these (1.5" thick on the face), so I did have to move things around to keep curious little hands out of trouble, but I would still buy these again.

Cheap, effective
I previously bought "Amazon's choice" for magnetic baby locks, Jettech, and they worked quite well. I needed a few more, so took a chance on these cheapies. They are just as good, and I get 4x the product for the same price! I highly recommend Note: They work much better on the side where the pulls are rather than where hinges are. Just test the spot you're thinking before posting down on the tape to ensure your metal pull doesn't interfere with the magnetic mechanism. I learned that the hard way. No worries though, they included extra adhesive tape. I chose magnetic because they are invisible, are easily attached and detached, and are easy to disengage for when babies aren't around. My mother in law broke one when she pulled very hard didn't know how to work it

Adhesive not as reliable as I was hoping.
I hate the idea of having to drill holes in all my cabinets, so this seemed like a great fit. Pretty good reviews, I thought I'd give it a shot. I read the instructions and followed to a T. Unfortunately the adhesive is not a sure thing. It's very frustrating...thinking that the cabinet is locked, but come to find my son in the cabinet and the 3m sticker there, but no locking mechanism. It's fallen somewhere in the cabinet. Ugh. I like that it has "extras" in the box, but I've pretty much used them all just trying to keep the initial ones in place. I love the idea of it. The magnet works well, but it's not as sure as locks actually screwed in. Still unsure if I want to return or now. I was so hopeful...

Not high quality, get latches that have metal and screws
We bought these for our kitchen, bathroom, etc. for our one year old. Overall I find these to be relatively poor quality. The latches are pretty light duty plastic. The tape is 3M but tape is not what you want here. I think I'll be replacing them before he is 1 1/2 if not sooner. For some comparison purposes, my wife bought a different brand of similar latches which were metal - much higher quality. Also, don't bother with these brands that use tape. I know it's a pain in the butt, but you really need to screw the latches to your cabinets so they don't come off and allow your little one access. It's worth the time and money, trust me ***Update*** Tape doesn't work at all, latches coming loose. I'm going to go ahead and replace them now less than 24 hours later
