Had mine for 6 years, and it’s been still working great! I use it only to store current work I’m intending to edit, then move it to a bigger hard drive storage. But it stores a nice amount of data, and the perfect size to take with you anywhere!

I did a lot of research on this drive and read a lot of reviews so I had my doubts. But I got it on time, the product is what I ordered and the set up/use is flawless.I even checked if it was a refurbished or not and it wasn’t.In the end it’s user error that most of the time this drive breaks. If your using this as a stay at home drive and don’t really travel much I don’t see this ever breaking (just don’t have it hanging from your desk when using it).If your traveling a lot and your careless with your stuff then I would get a SSD like a T5.That being said it’s worth the money in my opinion and use case!

I have replaced 2 external hard drives and 2 internal hard drives (for laptop) in about 6 years. Frustrating to say the least. This LaCie was recommended by a pro photographer friend of mine who swears by them. So far so good, but again it is only a week old. Right out of the box it was very simple to use - pretty much plug it in to your computer with provided USB and you're ready to go. Up/download speed seems good too. Give it a try. They come in different storage sizes but 1 TB seems like plenty for me.

The drive did not come formatted and would not work. I called their technical support number and held 35 minutes. When a tech finally answered he was EXCELLENT! He knew exactly the manufacturing mistake and guided me slowly and patiently through multiple steps to properly initialize the drive. It is working fine now.This is my second Rugged - I am a believer in spending the extra money for this type of housing after a friend dropped a "standard" external drive - just a small, off-the-counter no-denting drop that ruined all her storage on that external drive.I gave it a "4" only because it would not work out of the box.

I just purchased this about 1 month ago when my macbook air started exploding with issues due to lack of storage. I have been making a lot of videos for online teaching that take up a lot of space. I needed something ASAP to make my computer run its editing software and Zoom effectively. This hard drive saved me! So far it is great! The only weird thing is that the connection cable is really hard to pull out of the USBC port. I guess this is a good thing because it means it won't accidentally slip out and cause an error.

At first, I was hesitant to buy this product because of the bad reviews that I saw here but, I have to be honest, it makes me happy to give it a chance. The external hard drive works well, and I haven’t had any problems with it. It’s fast enough to save important files, and the quality feels good. I recommend it.

This is my second LaCie. The first one I bought two years ago and it’s still going strong storing media files. The new one is attached to an android device for media storage.The do not run hot and are small enough and light enough to be portable.

Lo uso para editar video y foto (Davinci, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc) desde el disco externo y se siente como si fueran archivos locales. Lo uso en una Macbook Pro 14 con M1 Pro. Tengo amigos que lo usan en Mac de escritorio y también funciona super bien.Los materiales y la calidad del disco son bastante buenos. Se siente super bien trabajar con el; ademas que es compatible con thunderbolt e incluye cables USB-C / USB-C y tambien USB / USB-C.Con la goma naranja el disco se vuelve grande pero el hecho de poder quitarle el protector le suma muchísimo. Aún así el tamaño del disco es bueno, un tanto mas grande que un mouse y una memoria USB.PLUS: Tienes 2 años de protección y te regalan 1 mes de Creative Cloud jajaja
