I have used these for a few years now and they work extremely well. Price is great compared to in store prices, easy to use and lasts (depending on your climate and indoor humidity levels) a good 6 to 8 months. Size is great as well and fits into my violin case without issue.

Works just like they say

I have been using Boveda 49% humidity packs in my guitars for years and have never had a negative experience. I live in New England and the humidity levels fluctuate with the seasons. All of my guitars are kept in hard cases with a hygrometer in each case. For my acoustics, I use two Boveda double sleeves, 2 packets in each, one hanging from the strings into the sound hole, and a second double sleeve at the headstock. I know, you’re probably saying that’s overkill but the humidity level in each case reads between 48% to 53% which to me is ideal. For my electrics, I use one double sleeve (two humidity packs) in each case. The humidity level in the case usually reads between 43% and 55%. To me this is fine since I am trying to prevent fret sprout more than anything else. Using the humidity packs the way I do, after the case is initially acclimated, I usually only have to change the packs about every 12 months. As mentioned earlier, I have never had a bad experience with any Boveda pack I have received. No leakages, no dry packs, etc. As far as storage, when I get a new order I put all of the new packs in a good quality gallon zip lock bag and keep them in a lidded clear plastic box until I need them. This has worked well for me. As far as cost, yeah they can be pricey but I would rather pay the cost of the packs than deal with shrinkage, cracks and fret sprout.

I own a few violins. Each lives in its own case. I don't trust the humidity gages in the cases. I have seen high humidity destroy these instruments. So a 5$ product to make sure they are properly humidified (each packet averages to about 5$ at time of writing.) is cheap peace of mind. Now - I bought a couple govee temp/humidity sensors - again cheap. Performance - starting at a relative humidity of 40% it took ~2 hours to reach 52% inside of a largeish oblong violin case. All these numbers are +/-3% because the measuring device is +/-3%. The past 12 hours the humidity has not moved - at all. Though the case is being stored in a room with a dehumidifier that reports 55-58% in the past 12 hours. So, in reality, given the range of error on the measuring device it could very well be 49%. So, the packet is pretty accurate, they fit inside all my cases, and they are also easy to open and toss in a case. All in all a very cheap and easy peace of mind for your fiddle (collection). The packets measure within their rated range as far as my instruments can measure. (As an aside, I use the large 49%, I never tried the small ones rated for violins. But the price difference between small and large isn't worth a suspected more frequent replacement. And I bought my first set from my local strings shop.)

I play classical guitar and the Boveda packs are much better than the Daddario ones. Definitely recommend.

I've purchased many times before and these used to come individually wrapped/sealed. This time it arrived with all of the packs just in a plastic packaging. They are losing humidity while sitting at the warehouse and won't last as long. Pretty expensive for this.
