Square Egg Ring SS 4X4"
This square egg fryer does exactly what it is supposed to do: fry 2 eggs, whether scrambled, sunny side up or over easy or hard, in a perfect square for making an egg sandwich. A few reviewers mention egg leakage from the corners. I find this to be a minimal problem if you heat the flat bottom pan with the egg ring flat in place for a minute. Then spray non-stick oil or apply butter lightly in the pan & inside the square. Add seasoning before or after pouring in the eggs. In the pre-heated pan and ring, the egg in contact with metal immediately solidifies and continues to cook (low-medium heat). When nearly cooked, run a table knife around the inside rim of the ring to loosen, if needed. Take a spatula, lift ring by its handle with pot holder or multi-folded paper towel and serve sunny side up or flip eggs to cook both sides. It's possible to cook 3 eggs at once in this manner. I've used this egg ring 5-6 times since I received it a month or so ago. It is unsuitable for a frying pan with curved, textured, ridged or ringed bottom. I love it and wish I'd known about it years ago. Enjoy.

One SQUARE Egg "form"... Works Nicely.
The product's title description accurately indicates what this product is. However, the product details leave a lot to the imagination. Thankfully, there were several (good unemotional) reviews to help me make my decision. This product does what it it's supposed to do... make square, bread (toast) sized eggs. I also had to bend it a little to ensure a flat, mostly square fit. Mine had a piece of spot-weld overflow so I just cleaned that up with a small file. Like the video review shows, apply some no-stick spray to the form and pan then preheat. After a minute or so, add the egg slowly into the form. The first one I made I used one egg, directly from the shell, then used a fork to scramble it some. When it was about 3/4 done, I used the fork to gently separate the cooking egg from the sides of the form then removed the form. There was no sticking of the egg to the form. Surprisingly, the form's handle was fairly cool to the touch. I'd expected it to be really hot. I flipped the egg and by the time I got the toast out of the toaster oven, it was done and ready for my wife's sandwich. The next sandwich (which I made for myself), I experimented using two eggs directly from the shell. Although the form has enough room for probably at least four, I recommend using only one at a time. In my case, the egg turned out too scrambled (fluffy) for me and I was afraid it would over-cook before it was ready to be flipped. I had to keep folding it to get most of the un-cooked liquid down to the pan's hot surface before removing the form... but it was still edible and not over-cooked. I'm happy with my square egg form and I believe you will be too.

Works, but could be better...
These things work as designed, and are great for making fried egg sandwiches that fit the size and shape of the bread/toast! The only real problem I've found with them is that need a completely flat surface to sit on; otherwise, the egg runs out under the edges. I supposed an electric griddle might be flatter than a frying pan, so I'm gonna try that next. But I have to say that I don't regret buying these.

Old school Egg Ring
Sturdy, not made of plastic and easy to clean. Worth the money

Works ok with two issues
This egg cooker is made rather substantially, and it does feel like a quality product when you first pick it up. The price isn’t too bad and so an initial glance you would think I would recommend it, but I find myself on the fence. The two issues I have are one the handle comes straight up as opposed to up and out, and so when the item is cleaned and put in a drawer, the drawer won’t shut. You may store your item in a different location where that is not a problem but I think most people have a drawer they keep knives and other appliances like this. The other issue is when you crack an egg the white will tend to run out the edges and so you don’t get that nice little square egg patty for a sandwich that you were hoping to get by purchasing this Item . There are ways around that by adding butter or some other cooking. Grease like lard. Around the edge of the metal egg cooker to slow down the spread of the egg, white until the egg begins to cook and solidifies, but I found this to work about half the time. The unfortunate reality is I’m outside the return window, and if I had to do all over again, I would not purchase this item.

only 4 inches in diameter but they made it right. Great customer service
This 5 inch ring is exactly 4 inches in diameter. Total waste of money. (see below, I was wrong) Update: I contacted customer service. They got back to me immediately and a few days later my 5 inch ring came. I don't judge a company by whether or not things go wrong because unless you are God inc. things will happen. It is what a company does to remedy the situation that makes the difference. Winco stepped up to the plate and hit it out of the park.

Just keep looking
Check my stats, I RARELY review but this was frustrating... and such a disappointment. I looked and looked for an egg mold and thought that this one would work. I really wanted to love it, but I was wrong. Although it is sturdy and aesthetically pleasing, this product simply does not work. Cons: pans are curved and this mold is straight on the bottom which means that the egg WILL and DOES leak through the gap immediately. I tried some tips like heating the mold in the pan (also tried oven) and pushing it down with my free hand as I poured the egg in. Nope, didn’t work. (I’ll add that I was using liquid egg whites, which has a looser consistency than “real” eggs, but I don’t believe that the difference is so great that this product would actually work with real eggs.) I also tried putting spinach, onion, and/or yellow squash in the mold before adding egg to help “take up space and seal rim” but that didn’t work either :( Basically, with a mold that is 4x4, you end up with a verrrryyyy thiiiinnnnnnn (less than .5 inch - which is okay, but not what I bought the mold for!) 4x4 egg that would have come out the same or better without the mold. It was just a waste, and while there are some other molds out there, they’re pretty expensive and have about the same reviews. Aside from spending a good $11-16 (even $10 is too much!) on another mold, I’d say just take your eggs as they are or mold them in the pan with a spatula. (Or do what I’m doing and keep looking! Lol) Pros: Sturdy! So much potential! If it was curved, I believe that it would be heavy enough to weigh itself down. Yes, it cleans very easily! I don’t know if it was the pam or olive oil that I use with my eggs, but the portion that did stay in the mold did not stick. Cleans with a simple wipe down (make sure that you dry it completely or it WILL rust). I’m not going to return the product, but I will be taking a hammer to it to see if I can round the bottom out. It’s a little extra work but I just want to be clear that the product is not with it! Just keep looking.

Practical and fun
Everything I had guessed and hoped for in using these rings came true. Great product. Used the square "rings" earlier this week to make several scrambled egg sandwiches. When cooked the egg fit the bread perfectly. I used two in one skillet and when the skillet was hot, dropped just a dab of butter in each ring in hopes of making sure the ring "was sealed" to the skillet. I beat the eggs to scramble them before putting them into the skillet and ring. I poured just a little of the egg into the ring and and seepage was almost non-existent. Once it set I poured the rest of the egg in, there was no more seepage. I did rub butter on the inside of the ring before to make sure the egg wouldn't stick and when the ring was lifted, the egg stayed in the skillet without a bit of the egg sticking. No sticking, easy clean up and very "neat" sandwiches. Highly recommend. By Don....Dorris' husband.
