Orbit 58322 Traveling Sprinkler ,Green

This is certainly much slower than you will see in videos from America (they clearly have way better water pressure than the UK - plus the pressure on our garden tap is really low/bad for the UK too!) - however, for me it has been working really well. Please see my video for the speed we’re getting - this is nothing like US YouTube videos where it spins so fast it’s a blur! As another UK review suggested, I only have this on the high setting (low is pointless) and while it does take ages to get around, our lawn is getting a decent soak and it has been flawless so far - only getting stuck when I didn’t allow enough room (near a trampoline). I always leave one arm set flat (to make it spin as fast as possible) and either have the other the same or pointing a little higher (for wider coverage) - this does mean you have different coverage (more water closer to sprinkler), but this has worked great for me. I’ve been surprised how well it turns, after hearing others had issues here (I try to make sure the turns gradual, but it seems to always navigate theSr perfectly). I’ve also never had an issue with it not stopping after going over the ramp. I may be having more luck as I’m using a fairly thin hose (12.5mm) and it seems to be happy dragging many metres of this too (over 60m so far) This has been a great buy, so much better than manually hosing the lawn or having to move a sprinkler every 30 minutes (or longer due to our rubbish water pressure!).

Great bit of kit does exactly what it says easy to set up saves a lot of time you only have to turn on and turns itself off I have now ordered a second one mainly because I have 2 large lawns and flower beds

I've been using this for a few weeks now and I think it's great. It does the watering and is fun to watch. My only issue is getting the flow set up nicely to start off is a bit trial and error with the spray arm angle and the water pressure.

Really good sprinkler and gives the lawn a good soaking, its just too slow with the low water pressure that we have in the UK. you need to find the correct hose attachment because this uses the American thread. The only annoying problem I have had with this sprinkler so far is that it sometimes fails to properly drive up the ramp and cut off the water when it reaches the end of the track, instead it will wanders off in a random direction until it gets stuck and ends up creating a mini swamp if I don't spot it in good time

Genuinely impressed. For once a gadget that actually works really well. Super quick to setup and basically just worked. It’s quite a heavy solid metal piece of kit. It is quite mesmerising to watch but it really does work well and I have been able to water my entire 300m2 garden without me doing anything other than lay the hose and set it running. Impressed. You do need to buy the 3/4’ hose lock adapter to convert the female fitting to a male fitting so that you can attach your hose.

AVOID!!! Faulty unit with a loose brass connector which causes it to leak between the main unit and connector. I exchanged it only to find the exact problem!

takes a bit of trial an error to get the right amount of soaking but it is a fairly gentle soak so you don't get capping and minimal to no run off. Have used it on pumped pond water (crude filter) with no issues save for need of booster pump half way along delivery route and it seems to be able to pull 50+m of hose in a straight line with no problems. Only issue is with using a pump as opposed to mains, when it gets to the shut off ramp which works fine it causes back pressure in the inlet suction hose and can split it. Have had it go walk about a few times due to sticks in the way or very uneven ground but this is more in line of operator inattention however have managed to set it going at 6:30 am - check at tweak hose around 8 hours later and finish around 11 pm without issue. Makes my life so much simpler. A version with a greater discharge rate would be a boon! However I would then be into the realm of commercial irrigation. Would I buy again - I don't think I will need to but if I did - I would like a shot.

It’s okay.. The device works, but as other people have pointed out, the connection, which is part of the manufacturers item. is very leaky and takes away a fair bit of water pressure..

I had one of these 20 yrs ago. It travels along the hose watering as it goes. My yard was flat then, now my yard has tree roots, holes and has a definite slope. The tractor handled it all. The one thing it can’t do it turn a corner but if you can make it a gentle curve of less than 45* then it just goes. I highly recommend this for someone who has plants to water but no sprinkler system put in
