Ronseal Wet Rot Wood Hardener 250ml

I used Ronseal Wet Rot Wood Hardener on a damp window frame and was impressed. It soaked in well, solidifying the soft, rotten wood and giving me something strong to rebuild from. The 250ml size was easy to handle and applied smoothly with a brush. It’s a handy product if you want to rescue wood rather than replace it — simple and effective.

It worked very well on my outdoor bench which was in poor condition. So far it seems to have kept the wood okay. I painted over it and the bench is still looking fine. However, it is quite a small amount for the money and didn’t cover the whole of the wood I needed it too. I probably should have realised that when I ordered it! But I didn’t!

I have been using this for years, it's brilliant for hardening old rotten wood.

This stuff is magic. Used it on a garage door frame: pulled off the really soft rotten bits then put this on, just one coat, and it's hard as rock. How does it do that??

Used this on my garden gate which had a couple of soft spots where rot is setting in. Wow! The areas I applied were spongy and are now rock hard!! No doubt I'll need to address the issue properly when the weather is better but this will hopefully stop the rot and get me though winter. Brilliant! Edit - A week later and the area was spongy again. No real fault of the product as it does state to remove any loose or crumbling wood. I was hoping for a quick fix but I have now removed the rotting wood and reapplied. I will report back. Edit: So I would definitely recommend following the instructions! After removing the soft wood I applied this which now gives me a solid base to add somewood filler. Don't do what I did and try and cut corners as you will only waste the solution and need to reapply.

It’s Ronseal. It does what it says on the tin. It did tell me to wipe away any excess but since it was transparent I didn’t bother. It dried white!! Oh dear.

profonda delusione per questo prodotto, non fa nulla di più che potrebbe fare una soluzione di colla vinilica in acqua. Oltre a non riempire il legno deteriorato rimane fragile come in partenza.

Per una svista l'ho acquistato ad un prezzo esagerato....... Evitate questo venditore
