Worked perfectly to fix detached work boot sole
One of the soles on my CAT boots detached at the back after the first few wears (just at work and in town, nothing strenuous). They were a new pair but I had bought them second-hand and didn't wear them until it was too late to ask for a refund. The glue was defective and the sole pretty much peeled off 3/4 of the way to the toe. I got most of the old glue off (manually rubbing, sandpaper and IPA) and then used a tube of this MIRACLE glue in copious amounts. I used a wooden skewer to poke in into the narrow gap where the sole was still attached and to spread it evenly. I decided to be generous and go with a whole tube because I quickly realised it is SUPER STICKY and there was no way I was going to get another go at it if I left gaps. After applying, I lined up the sole as best I could while giving it a good squeeze and wiping off most of the excess. I then wrapped clingfilm round the boot and used a shedload of elastic bands (regular and double length ones) to hold the sole in the right place without any gaps between it and the bottom of the boot. I left it to cure overnight but it was still tacky in the morning so I left it until the next morning (36 hrs total). I did it in the kitchen so probably was around 15 C instead of the recommended 22 C, which increased the curing time. By then it was completely set so I took off the elastic bands and cling film. The sole was really securely stuck on and the repair wasn't visible from a distance (i.e. if you were standing an the shoe was on the ground). I have worn those boots to death, pretty much every other day for 3 years, in winter and summer, in Edinburgh and London, including a couple of weeks at -13 C in South Korea, and they are still going strong. I have since bought 4 more of these tubes for shoe repairs. It is fantastic for reattaching soles, way better than whatever they use at Timpson - I took a pair of boots there to get the resoled and ended up having to re-stick the soles back on with this stuff! I don't know how well it would fare for cracks that bow open or are under significant tension. For that you might need something with an internal structure, like a tape. But for surfaces that are mainly under compression and for sealing (rather than structural holding), it is really good.

Saved my favorite winter boots!
This glue is incredible—it has "super double" strength! I used it to replace the entire sole of my winter boots after several professional shoe repair shops refused to take on the job. It was a great DIY experience, and I basically have a brand-new pair of shoes now. I’ve been wearing them for over 6 months in winter conditions and have had zero issues. Highly recommended for tough repairs!

An Ultra Strong Glue - Avoid a Del Boy & Rodney Trotter Moment Getting Your Hands Stuck Together!
Since this is a long review, it has been structured into five sections to enable the individual reader to immediately access what's most important to them. Paragraph one highlights what I used the glue for. Paragraph two covers safety and a mistake I made; when suddenly I urgently needed to use super glue remover to remove Stormsure glue from my fingers. Paragraphs three & four highlights how long the hardening/curing process takes and the last paragraph five, answers the question does it work? 1). The Type of Repair Made: I Purchased a 15 gram tube of 'Stormsure Flexible Repair Adhesive CLEAR' to repair the soles of a pair of Grub Wellys that had sprung leaks. Before the leaks occurred I thought the soles were solid but discovered they are air cushioned with supporting grid ridges underneath to seal the air in, which explained the unusual comfort of these wellys. 2). Safety & A Big Do: First some advise on using the product wisely, since the instructions are insufficient & lacking in this respect (this is why I have deducted a star from the rating). Do nevertheless read the 'Danger' safety warning in small print on the reverse of the instructions, written in fourteen languages. They are easy to miss or neglect. And avoid Del Boy and Rodney Plonker Moments from 'Only Fools and Horses': When I managed to get the glue on my fingers by accident - something I thought wouldn't happen with the type of repair I was making - I discovered it is impossible to remove with water, soap and alcohol; no matter how hard you scrub and it is incredibly tacky/strong. In this sense, think of it as super glue. Like super glue it contains isocyanates and I literally had to use 'super glue remover' to sucessfully remove it from my skin; nothing else worked. It would be rather embarassing if you had to call the emergency services out because your hands got stuck to the garage door or worse, the toilet seat. There's more than one reason the product is called Stormsure! This is what they don't tell you in the instructions. The box contained a disposable pair of ultra thin gloves wrapped in a flat packet smaller than a match box and no plastic glue spreader. Better quality gloves than supplied are preferable and use ones you don't mind disposing afterwards. The advert on the box - most likely inspired by the marketing department - stated, "FREE GLOVES inc." Wow was my jaw dropping response; I was almost left speechless. They are the kind of thing I used to see in Christmas Crackers when I was a child. 3). The Repair Process: If you look at the repaired soles in the photographs, I had to use a knife to prize open the split edges of the affected treads that were leaking, while squeezing glue into the air gap underneath until it was full; making sure the tread was completely surrounded by more glue (don't use your partner's kitchen knife if you want to live). For this repair I used approximately half the 15 gram tube. Once the glue has been opened it is necessary to make sure no air is left in the tube by squeezing the glue to the top, while immediately screwing the lid on firmly. This is because air and moisure cures and eventually hardens the glue over time. It is necessary to place the remaining glue in a freezer, which keeps it in a liquid state and stops it from solidifying. I made sure I placed the opened tube in a sealed plastic bag to keep it away from frozen foods. 4). How Long Does it Take to Dry/Harden? That's like asking how long is a piece of string? The short answer; it dependents what you are using it for and the room or garage temperature at the time of the repair. The colder the temperature the longer it takes to cure and harden. I made the repair to my boots in the summer when I didn't need them and inserted the legs of the boots behind a cold radiator as a prop; allowing the soles to remain in an upright position. The glue is viscous but it does run nevertheless. If two surfaces are stuck together the chances are only a thin layer of glue will need to be applied, since the instructions state 'Assemble immediately. Press strongly and immobilize for at least 10 - 12 hours.' However, because I used a large quantity the curing and hardening process took much longer. Even after 4 days the glue had not fully hardened. Not needing the boots I left them on a cold radiator for around three to four weeks. After this time I noticed the flexible glue had become very firm while maintaining flexibility. If you wish to speed the curing/hardening process, you can purchase a bottle of 'Stormcure', which when mixed with the glue reduces the cure time by 90% but adds extra expense to the repair. 'Stormcure' is also highly inflammable; something you may wish to further take into consideration. 5) The Million Dollar Question: Does it work? In short, YES! Originally when this review was published I couldn't give a definitive answer because England was experiencing a drought in the summer of 2025, however the winter of 2025/2026 also seemed to be nature's response to climate change; so now to the update 20/02/2026: Due to the exceptionally heavy rain and flooding this winter, I have been using my repaired Grub Wellys and the Stormsure repair of the soles has been 100% successful, saving a good pair of boots from being thrown away and incinerated, and also unecessary investment in another pair of expensive wellys. I now intend to use the glue to repair a leaking pair of walking boots.

KSB's on the road again
Really is quite good. Used stormsure to refit my vibram sole to my old KSB's. Still to test out on the hills and off the beaten track.

Fairly robust product. Used mine on wellies but did have a tendency to come away and re-let water back in.

My hunter boots are repaired!
Very very happy ! I had just completed the water proof tests in my bathroom after 48 h waiting time. It is very easy to use it . The big slits on my soles of my hunter boots are properly glued and waterproof now ( shown in the photos) ! They used to make my feet wet but no longer ! The gel is transparent and not ugly at all. I didn’t even used any sandpapers before application. Just simply put the gel with my finger with gloves ( included) . Leave them over 48h. Done 👍 I am so delighted and I would use this for any shoes ! I used to dispose very expensive shoes after few times use and eventually gave up wearing high brand shoes. Uk roads are not good for shoes or shoes are not robust enough. I think this works to save any of my shoes and I am excited to try further! I can wear nice shoes again possibly in future. I can confirm that my hunter boots are rescued ! My walking area is heavily flooded by a river to unimaginable depths. I was heartbroken. I have no ways of purchasing another pairs. This gel hugged my heart ! Absolutely beautiful.

I have a 20year old Barbour jacket with some serious tears. I used stormsure in combination with fabric patches to fix. The seal is strong and leak proof. And quite flexible so the coat will move relatively normally. I bought some more to keep up with any upcoming repairs.

But after 1 week , the airtrack of pvc was leaking again. Maybe this glue is not designed for PVC plastic...

This is interesting repair material. First let me say after you open the tube, you must store the tube in the freezer. When you use it from the freezer, it has to be completely thawed out to work. StormSure is a clear look material that is almost liquid when it comes out of the tube. It does have a little firmness and sticks to the surface you are repairing. Get Silicone sealant out of your mind. Once Stormsure has had time to cure, and providing you have applied it to a clean dry surface, It really holds on tight. I repaired a pair of shoes where the seam came undone. Stormsure held well where other glues wouldn't hold. The repair is waterproof also. Now this is totally out of its job discription but, my VW Cabrio AM/FM antenna antenna is mounted to the body with a rubber mount. For some reason, the rubber had deteriorated and was coming apart. I used Storm Sure to glue the peices that broke apart back together and for added strength I glued a rubber sheet over the exterior surface of that mount. The end result is a repaired mount that looks almost like it did before the damage. The Storm Sure people make a lot of claims for what can be repaired but after I used this and saw the results, I would pretty much say read the claims and give it a try because I have not had this material let go or fail since I used it. They claim this material will repair a vinyl seat tear so that is next on the list to repair. On the good results I have had, I recommend StormSure flexible repair adhesive.
