To be honest I was not looking forward to trying this out as I couldn't see how such a blade could cut through steel. The machines I've used before cut using big abrasive type blades & I just did not see how this type of blade would work. I fully expected it to catch on the pipe & chaos would follow...with a fair bit of my blood in that mix. I need not have worried it cut the 33.7mm galv pipe with ease...no drama just nice shiny cuts. It's a basic machine & will only cut 'smaller' pieces (up to about 50mm) but that's all I need & price of just under £100 it's good to have. I doubt I'll use it that often but it's there when I need it.

I brought this based on the reviews and they were right. Great compact piece of kit that is robust and cuts through metal like it isn't even there.

Excellent piece of kit, clamp is reasonably good, eats through 41mm x 41mm u section steel (unistrut) like butter. 10mm threaded bar is also cuts easily. Pretty clean cut, just a quick rub over with file to take of the sharp edge on the u section. threaded bar does not need a lead filed on it, nice clean cuts. I've only cut steel on mine, so I can't comment on aluminium performance (or wood). You need to wear goggles, not glasses when cutting as the 'chips' can fly up easily. No need to force the saw, as it cuts through easily on its own... I have never used a grinding disc type chop saw, but I would think this is much easier to clean up than the grinding 'dust' that gets everywhere when grinding. I would also think this is much quicker at cutting than a grinding disc type saw.

Brought this to chop up pallet wood panels for kindle as i have a wood burner.. cuts wood fast and easy. Deffo recommended.

Great for small diameter steel cuts super fine anything bigger does not do the job so again I would save your money and buy a bigger one. I had to remove all the safety guards and use it without to be able to cut the largest deal. Made my mistake in buying the smaller one it’s not much more money to buy a full size cutter but it is nice to cut without using coolant.

This is a truly versatile piece of workshop equipment for me. Small footprint but sturdy. As claimed by the manufacture I can confirm that it does cut (burr free) all the materials stated. I can also add plastics to the list as I had no issue cutting Acetal bar (20mm) and acrylic tubing (20mm). Just check the material rest (used to clamp the material against) is square as the clamp does tend to push the material upwards slightly, but with care the Rage 4 cuts accurately and cleanly. The only niggle I have with the Rage 4 is that you do not know where the cut line is without bringing the saw blade down and positioning one of the saw teeth near the cutting point. If there was a pointer/gauge/laser on the guard or base to indicate the cut position that would have been just perfect. But as mentioned it is just my niggle. And just to add...earplugs are a must!! Very impressed overall and I feel confident using the Rage4 as often as I can, saving long stints on a bandsaw and especially the self powered hacksaw! A very capable and efficient piece of equipment and is highly recommended

Una maravilla esta maquinita. Hay que apretar un poco los tornillos de la guia, el del eje sobre el que bascula el conjunto del disco y motor, para que no haya ninguna holgura. La manivela de la mordaza (el mangito negro, no la de 3 radios, viene en una bolsita de plástico, junto al colector de virutas y las llaves allen) Una vez hecho, queda perfectamente ajustada. Corta ángulos entre 0 y 45 grados, con subdivisiones de 5 grados entre los 15, 30 y 45. La escala es muy precisa. Viene con un disco tipo Widia con el que corté un tubo de seccion rectangular de aluminio de 40 x 20 x 1 mm. A 45 grados y el resultado no pudo ser mejor (corte super limpio, perfectamente recto, el angulo vertical a 90 grados perfectos y al unir los dos trozos a 45 grados y comprobar con una escuadra calibrada, quedó perfecto, sin mas ajustes que topear la escala a 45 grados) Lo que más me sorprendió, a parte de la precisión, fue la limpieza del corte, que nada tiene que envidiar a las máquinas profesionales de los talleres de carpinteria metálica. Aún no he cortado perfiles de hierro, pero creo que no va a decepcionar. Es robusta y muy manejable y funciona con sobrada fuerza, conectada a una base de enchufe de solo 10 Amperios, así que no hay que preocuparse de que salte wl interruptor automático del domicilio. Viene con 3 llaves allen, un tope de caucho para la mordaza y una pieza de plastico duro, tipo PVC para aquel que desee conectar un aspirador de virutas en la parte trasera del disco. La base es de chapa de acero, pero no se deforma en absoluto. Es perfectamente rígida . En resumen: Es una tronzadora ligera, robusta, precisa, con un buen acabado, embalaje bien protegido e incluso todas las partes articuladas vienen perfectamente lubricadas.

When you fix a piece in place that is smaller than the height of where you clamp it (for example 2.5cm ~ 1 inch tube), the clamp itself rotates the workpiece. This is because the axl that pushes on the piece is above it. That's not a problem with a 90degree cut but it's a BIG problem with 45degree cuts. Also the clamping power isnt that great. So a workpiece at an angle other than 90degrees gets drawn into the sawblade. So in conclusion. Nice saw for 90 degree cuts, absolute nightmare for anything else.
