Mothership

After a couple of years of wanting this I finally got it, original release price was just to rich for me, however it's was recently reissued and not at an eye watering asking price either, and new and sealed...not sure what version I have as you tube videos show the vinyl speperate from the covers and sitting in PVc sleeves. My box has anti static lined paper sleeves already in the covers.however the sound is awesome, did a cd to vinyl comparison and I'm very pleased so I'm assuming the reissue is from digital masters rather than analogue.bass is full and in yer face Bonham's drums are spectacular plants vocals are ethereal and of course Paige's guitar is front and center.its by no means a complete greatest hits but I have the remasters hits release from the 90's on cd so gaps are filled lol...the package itself is brilliant simple but brilliant lightly embossed cover and can finally read the booklet without a magnifying glass(I'm at that age)...if like me your a passing zep fan this is a great package and twined with celebration day cd and dvd pretty much I reckon covers everything zed I could want. Only one jump in side 2 though it sounds like c.d skip but it doesn't detracked from listening

This is a superb double CD set of Led Zeppelin's greatest hits. John Davis at Metropolis did a great job with the remastering, the sound quality is as good as any vinyl pressing I've heard! Buyers will not be disappointed as long as you have a half decent CD player and LOUD speakers to play it on :-)

Superb album

Jimmy Page's remastering of Led Zep's work has paid dividends with a clear, rich, round and vibrant sound on all the tracks. The well-known tracks never sounded better, other than if you were watching the world's greatest rock & roll band live - sadly no longer an option. My issue with Jimmy is really his choice of material. CD 1 virtually picks itself, but CD2, for reasons best known to the man himself, includes some very average songs. Do we really need to hear the cod-reggae of D'Yer Mak'er any more? Is the very average 10+ minutes of Achilles Last Stand really up there with the best of Zep's work? How come The Battle Of Evermore got ditched? Why no songs chosen from the live album and movie The Song Remains The Same? I never understood why Gallows Pole, In The Light, Moby Dick or some of Page's other thunderous riffs never made it to these albums. However, maybe we should be grateful for what we have. Everyone will have their favourites (which for most will include Kashmir, Stairway To Heaven, Whole Lotta Love etc.), but I'm happy to listen to Zep's rendition of a folk song, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You and the sublime rendition of a blues classic, When The Levee Breaks.

Best of Zeppelin! Happy to have 2 cd's with all the greatest hits. Very pleased with this purchase.

Une merveille! Le son est magnifique et le coffret de qualité. Par contre, grosse déception lors du déballage du premier disque! Une énorme rayure (voir photo)! J'ai fait jouer le SAV Amazon et tout est rentré dans l'ordre.
