๐ Plug in. Power up. Stay connected at gigabit speed.
The UbiQuiti UACC-CM-RJ45-1G is a reliable 1G SFP to RJ45 copper transceiver module designed for seamless integration with SFP ports on switches and routers. It delivers stable gigabit Ethernet speeds over CAT5e/CAT6 cables up to 100 meters, features hot-pluggable convenience, and operates efficiently with low power consumption (~1.2W). Ideal for home labs and small networks, it offers a cost-effective alternative to fiber without compromising performance, though it is limited to 1 Gbps speeds and depends on cable quality for optimal stability.

Smart Module, Good Performance, With Some Trade-Offs
Why I Bought It I needed to link up some copper Ethernet connections to switches that only have SFP ports, particularly in my home/homelab setup. The UACC-CM-RJ45-1G lets me use standard RJ-45 cables with those SFP ports, which seemed ideal for flexibility and cost savings. Setup / First Impressions The module arrived cleanly, with a solid build typical of Ubiquiti accessories. It slots into the SFP cage firmly. Specifications are exactly what I expected: 1 Gbps over copper, compatible with CAT5e/CAT6 up to ~100 meters. The connector feels well machined, and once hooked up, the link comes up reliably โ no flickers or errors in basic tests. Performance / Quality In daily use itโs very dependable. Transfers at gigabit speed are stable; I havenโt experienced dropouts when streaming data or transferring large files. Power draw is minimal (~1.2 W) so it doesnโt significantly heat up or stress the system. Where itโs less perfect: if the copper cable or patch setup is low quality, thereโs some signal degradation (though nothing catastrophic). Also, longer runs near 100m or less-than-ideal cable standards start to show reduced stability or slight performance lag. Pros โ๏ธ Reliable gigabit connection via standard RJ-45 using an SFP port โ๏ธ Hot-pluggable and works immediately โ very plug-and-play โ๏ธ Efficient power consumption, behaves well thermally โ๏ธ Compatible with many Ubiquiti and other networking products that support SFP modules โ๏ธ Solves a practical problem: avoiding needing fiber or swapping switches Cons โ Performance depends heavily on quality of the RJ-45 copper cable and terminations โ At the extremes (near full 100 m, inferior cable) there can be slight signal loss or reduced stability โ Not future-proof for higher speeds (10G etc.) โ if you plan to upgrade beyond 1Gbps, you will need a more expensive module Final Verdict If youโve got switches or routers with SFP ports and want to use copper Ethernet instead of fiber or buying more gear, this module is an excellent bargain. It gives you solid gigabit performance with minimal fuss. Itโs not โ10G capableโ, so for high-speed future upgrades you might want to invest in a higher spec, but for everyday home/network or small lab use, it gets the job done well.

Excellent
Unifi Part not a knock off, does what it says it will, for Unifi network switches and routers

Good quality and speed.
Connects to any free sfp port in a unifi switch and works first time, every time. Used when I'm on a site and the switch is full, apart from the sfp ports... Perfect. Speed test shows just under 1gbps speed, great quality and price. Plug and play on unifi switches, can be used in other manufacturers, but not compatible with every one. Would recommend.

Works perfectly with Edge Router 10X
Needed one for my Edge Router 10X, and it works perfectly, no issues or reboots required.

Easily convert SFP+ Sockets to RJ45 CAT5/6/7/8
If you're running short of sockets on your Ubiquiti UDM-Pro or SE pop one of these into oner of your SFP+ ports (if they're free) and you get another (or two). I use on SFP+ port (with this module) as my default WAN Port.

Hot swapped on my EdgeRouter 6P. No reboot needed
I ran out of ports on my Ubiquiti EdgeRouter 6P and bought this to connect a PoE injector for my UniFi AP U6+ WiFi access point. It worked flawlessly. Zero downtime and plug-and-play. Up and running immediately. For the best stability, avoid third-party and stick with Ubiquiti, you pay for what you get.
