Masterplug SRGDU41PW2-MP Heavy Duty Four Socket Surge Protected Extension Lead with 2 USB Ports, 2 Metre, White

I’ve owned the Masterplug SRGDU61PB2 6 Gang Surge Protected Extension Lead with 2 USB Ports (1 m, Black) for almost eight years, and it’s still performing flawlessly. That level of reliability speaks volumes about Masterplug’s quality and design. From day one, this extension lead has handled everything from laptops and TVs to chargers and lamps, all without a single issue. The surge protection has done its job on more than one occasion during power fluctuations, keeping my electronics perfectly safe. The power indicator and surge protection lights still work like new, which is impressive considering the years of daily use. The USB ports are genuinely useful, especially for charging phones and tablets without needing extra adapters. They still deliver consistent power output with no noticeable drop in charging speed over time. The compact 1 m length makes it perfect for tidy setups, especially under desks or next to entertainment units, while the black casing blends nicely with most electronics and doesn’t yellow or scuff easily. After nearly a decade, I can confidently say this Masterplug lead has proven itself to be a dependable, safe, and well-built product. It hasn’t developed loose sockets or cable wear, and it continues to feel solidly made. If you want something that lasts and keeps your tech protected year after year, this one is a clear winner.

This 4-way socket extension is the second one I've bought from Masterplug - the 6 way version arrived in December 2017 and has given sterling service supporting many, many gadgets in my kitchen ever since. Knowing what a good product they can make (I have 6 of their 3-way, upright surge protected adapter and 5 of their USB double 13A sockets) I had no hesitation in buying this smaller version, which services me and my wife's charging needs in our lounge. The 2m cable, which is so much better than a 1m one (and reassuringly thick) neatly conveys power from behind our 3 seater sofa to the two Alexa controlled sockets which in turn send power via different chargers to our iPads, iPhones and Macbook Pro. I like that this version also has an on/off switch and two additional USB-A charging ports of its own. You can never have enough power options, I think. Very well made and good value for money, I expect it will give me years of service. Highly recommended.

This is a nicely proportioned and well made extension with six main sockets and two usb sockets which are useful for charging various items from mp3s, phones and cameras etc. The bright blue led that tells you it's on could distract you if you could see it so I agree with other reviewers who mentioned this. I have mine behind a tv unit so it doesn't bother me. The cable is a useful 1 metre long so not a lot of surplus cable to try to hide. There is only one drawback to this otherwise excellent unit and that is that the adaptor I have for my router has the cable at the top. As these sockets are upside down and normally an advantage where plugs are concerned, I have to use the extension on its side as it won't stand upright with this adaptor in. However, that's not the fault of the unit. Maybe adaptors should all be standardised. Overall, I can recommend this compact unit if you don't like seeing a long flat trailing socket or you don't have much room.

Love this surge protected plug, it looks snazzy and works well for a good price. The only downside is all the plugs sockets face the same way, one of my plug wire comes from the top of the plug (not the bottom) therefore it pushes the extension cable up, making it not stand properly and the bottom of the product is not flush with the surface.

I got this because it was more compact than the 'white tower' extension I was using previously. This unit is stylish and fits well with my other media items. It has the benefit of surge protection and LED lights to show it's on. I like the USB charging and these are powerful enough for overnight charging. I only have one reservation. I should have gone for a 2m cable. Entirely my fault for not checking. Otherwise it's an excellent extension lead from an excellent company.

Fantastic product delivered on time. Item is not very bulky and has facility to be mounted on a wall if required. The sockets are well positioned and even large plugs will fit nicely. The two USB ports are fine and charge my S7 no problem. Just a little heads up the isb ports are 2.1A shared, if you plug a device in USB port 1 it will use 2.1A, but if both ports are used they will not be sufficient to charge newer devices at decent speeds. Very happy with build quality and size.

These are excellent value for money; they look as smart as a plug block can; I have both the black version and the white version (chosen for different places) with the black being visually discreet. The USB ports work well and fortunately I have not had need thus far for the surge protection. The units are also well made and should last for many years (my first one is probably two years old) so can be regarded as reliable.

I have now 2 of these this one and knew in black. I really like these plugs because they have an on off button on top, they have surge protection and 2 usb ports too. They are from a very reliable brand and I would recommend them.
