Fits Silverline 1/2" Router 124799
Pulled out my router (Silverline 1/2" Router 2050W 124799) and thought the included guide would be the one I needed for using with a Silverline kitchen routing template, unfortunately it wasn't the 30mm needed and then I was surprised when I couldn't get a 30mm guide for the router. Fortunately I came across a post where someone had used this universal base. There is a guide on the box to which routers it fits (looking at another review there is a list online as well, I hadn't checked there), mine isn't listed on the box but fortunately it does fit. It only aligns with the two fitting holes closest to the centre, but it is solid enough, would be better if it aligned with the holes further out as well, but they are outside the diameter of the unit. It's held on with two threaded screws and captive nuts which are secured well in the router base so you simply put the supplied nuts in the router base, fit and tighten the screws once you aligned with the supplied alignment pins and bush. As others have mentioned when you install a guide bush they are only secured with 2 brass inserts in the plastic so be careful not to over tighten. They are only there to hold the guide in place the neat fit will proved the support needed to do the job, so no need to tighten too much, don't see this as a problem as long as you are careful.

Works but slightly disappointed
Had issues finding a decent pair of holes to connect to my Triton router and also it was a lot smaller than the original base. Having said that it did work ok but not quite as stable as the original base

Purchased a second hand erbauer plunge router, didn't come with any guide bushes and needed for kitchen worktop. This fitted perfectly, allowing trend guide bushes to be attached. Definitely recommend this sub base

Well made and once properly mounted works extremely well.
You MUST use the nuts and bolts supplied with the sub-base. It is possible to pull the inserts out of the plastic if you try and use the screws supplied with the template guide bush as they are a different size (despite both being provided by Trend in my case). Remove the existing sub-base from the router. Remove the plastic shield by gently pinching/prising with a flat screwdriver (Bosch POF1400) Mount the guide rod onto the router collet. Mount the Dummy guide bush to the new sub-base and slide onto the guide rod. Adjust until the new sub-base just touches the mounting points. Rotate until the router mounting holes align with corresponding holes in the sub-base. Bolt into place using nuts, washers and bolts provided (the box has a table showing which bolts go with which router). Remove guide rod and guide bush; replace with the real thing and away you go. In use you must make good attention to holding the base flat to the work piece otherwise there is a slight tendency for the many holes to snag.

It isn't that universal. It didn't fit my Triton.

Great bit of kit.
Needed this base so I could use standard Trend jig guides. Bought this in the hopes it would fit to my Triton 1/2" router - which wasn't on the list - and as expected it didn't fit 'out of the box'. This baseplate is good and solid, so with a little bit of 'tweaking' I soon had it fitted lovely and central. Being able to use a standard type guide bush is a major improvement - well worth the money and the effort.

Bosch POF 1400 ACE and Trend UniBase
My project was to make simple boxes as planters for my garden. I previously purchased Trend CDJ300 dovetail jig to make the joints. The Trend CDJ 300 jig comes complete with a bush for dovetail joints but said bush wouldnt fit my Bosch POF 1400 ACE router base. I had to make a further purchase of the Trend UniBase to attach to my Bosch POF 1400 ACE Router. This is to tell about how things worked out for my situation, I looked for hours for any info from internet and videos but found little to none of any help. That is what prompted me to post what I found to work for me. I've posted a few photos of the UniBase, I've hilited with some white paint, for my own future reference the holes I will be using. Turning the unibase bit by bit, I spent a fair few hours trying to marry the two up using the same screw holes used to secure the Bosch base plate, that did not work for me. The easiest way i found of doing it is to take off the base plate of the Bosch ACE 1400 and use the large screws complete with nuts and washers supplied by Trend and mount the UniBase to the router using three larger holes on the router base. Using a small flat blade screwdriver I carefully detached the clear plastic chip guard from the router as it is right over the hole I wanted to use, this will clip back into place at a later time. I put the washers on the top side of the base so less damage when securing the nut. Before final tightening I fixed the plastic centering bush to the UniBase, made sure all was centred properly then finally screw all 3 screws so plate is secure. The UniBase will sit on top of the Bosch base plate but I'm not sure if it will operate like that, I haven't tried it that way. With the Unibase now secure, all good to go.

Hitachi M12EV
Bought this for a 2nd hand Hitachi M12EV that I bought 2nd hand without the 30mm guide bush. Once I'd tracked down the Hitachi guide bush and special crews needed there was very little difference the price compared to the Unibase + the trend GB30, particularly as all the screws are provided. I've fitted several kitchens in my time and always borrowed or hired a router, but the concept of the centring pins to align the base and guide bush was something I've never some across. This was the clincher and reason I decided to go for this combination over the Hitachi bush, etc. I also have the Katsu 1/4 inch and realised its compatible with that as well so even better. A question I had but couldn't get answered before purchase was that the very small screws required to fit the GB30 do come with the Unibase rather than the GB30 bush.
