Well made and worked perfectly
Was in a rush to get a replacement, fortunately an exact match for a 20 year old toilet inlet mechanism, good seal, so worked perfectly.

Easy to fit.
Item arrived early and was easy to install, however it did not appear to resolve my particular issue- but that is not the items fault, please also be aware the this item is available in Screwfix under the description of an armitage shanks diaphragm.

Fitted perfectly
Good instructions for checking whether this is the right part

my fault read carefully!
These do not work with the newer type of floating valve as the outer seal edge profile does not allow it to sit into the top cap of the flush valve so you don't get a tight seal and water just dribbles down from the top of the valve when the toilet has filled. This is for the older flush valve that has a nut to tighten it

Red-pin and white-pin versions sold as the same but the wrong one for your valve won't work
Doesn't work. The photo on the webpage was an exact match for what I was replacing, with a red pin. What I got had a white pin. I assumed it was just a cosmetic difference and fitted it, but it just doesn't stop the water. Looking at the very helpful webpage "Repairing A Toilet Silent Fill Valve" by "Helpful Colin" he has photos showing that the two versions have differences in vital thicknesses measured in millimeters. He says that sometimes they can be swopped over, but obviously not always.

Easy solution for faulty inlet
After 10 years our toilet cistern inlet would not shut off and overflowed continuously. A bit of internet research revealed that Armitage Shanks have two designs for silent inlet you have to make sure you get the right one and this is for the earlier model. In my case the inlet valve was very hard to undo and the old diaphragm had welded itself to the housing so replacing it was not as striaghtforward as I'd imagined. its worth cleaning out the filter at the same time because there are some tiny holes which stop the valve from working if they get blocked. The valve works by water pressure and so it has to bleed air out before it wil work. Mine took a couple of minutes to do this so if it doesn't appear to be working give it some time! Its a lot cheapoerand easier than fitting a whole new inlet valve which is the only alternative.

time will tell !
The fitting does not seem as substantial as the original but seems to do the job, time will tell how good a buy it has been
