Great book with some lovely drawings inside and will give me great ideas and help to do some carvings myself

My husband LOVES this book by Lora Irish. He's been glued to it and I haven't really managed to get much out of him apart from "I should have bought this a long time ago". He's not a beginner, but certainly not advanced and cannot wait to get started. He has also decided to buy a Scroll Saw (not essential), but this book has helped his to realise that such a tool can only help him in his hobby. I had a quick "shiftie" through the book and I think the book would be great for other crafters, too, with the patterns etc. RECOMMENDED by both of us for all crafters especially Woodcarvers, Pyrographers, Cardmakers

Its a useful reference

I think this author has a real dominance in this area, I come across a lot of her designs - perhaps not enough folk are publishing designs. The designs are good but nothing special, just nice line drawings - each one having a shaded version next to it to give an idea of the end result. I'm pleased with this purchase.

There are some good tips in this book as well as templates but I found them more for intermediate or professional carvers/painters rather than for beginners.

great book for a new starter in the hobby.

I had expected a book with more instructions. This book contains a lot of illustrations for burning wood pieces which are then shown in relief. However, there is little instruction on how to tackle the pieces shown if you are a beginner woodcarver which I am - so I was disappointed with this purchase.

As a novice I think it is great, good instructions and advice, plenty of patterns, will be using it for years to come.

Once again, Lora Irish provides a wide variety of patterns, with great instruction, for relief carving. My only problem is that I'm afraid I'm going to run out of wall space! By the way, this book is much superior to the more recently published "Great Patterns" book that simply repeats some of Ms. Irish's patterns, and adds some mediocre patterns obviously produced by less talented people.

Berllissimo libro, come tutti i libri di Lora S.Iris. - adatto sia al principiante che alla persona più esperta. Molto chiari i disegni e i vari passaggi nell'esecuzione dei lavori. Non dovrebbe mancare nella biblioteca dell'appassionato di intaglio. MARIO.

Je suis fan de cette auteur je possède 6 de ces livres tous très intéressent pour moi étant donner que je pratique plusieurs arts. Tout les ouvrages de Lora S. Irish que j'ai acheter jusque aujourd'hui ne mon jamais déçu, pas besoin de connaitre un seul mots d'anglais pour les utiliser. Des livres à prix très intéressent pour la qualité des images et le nombres de modèles proposer. En se qui concerne celui-ci des fruits,des animaux,des paysages et des contours multiples pour travailler bois ou pierre sont de niveau pour tout artistes aiment ces matières. Explication d'un pas à pas écrit mes aussi très bien réaliser en images, qui serviras pour travailler tous les modèles. Que dire de plus a par d'acquérir se livres pour agrandir votre bibliothèque du travail des arts. Sandrine
