Iconic British toaster.
This Dualit toaster is still made in the UK. It is somewhat iconic and let's face it, expensive. So I was pleased to get one in mint condition for £90+ less than retail in Amazon resale. It is the standard four slot version with one rocker switch to select two or four pieces of toast. It works well but like iconic things has its foibles: The powerful elements heat up very quickly, so the toast is crisp yet still moist inside. The slots could be a tad wider for sourdough miche but the sandwich cages help. The mechanical timer is quaint in this digital age but Dualit recommend you disconnect it after use; no mains isolation here. The toast lifter is vigorous, while the crumb tray is minimalist. It's a lovely thing to own, it makes excellent toast but I am glad I got the large discount. Hence five stars.

Nice quality item.
Very nice slick looking toaster. Sturdy build. Timer works really well. Toasts nice and evenly. Expensive but worth the money.

Best toaster ever!
Read the instructions inside the box before unpacking as it has vital information re the first time use, i.e. there may be slight smoke and crackling noises - be aware. This is such a sturdy, well grounded toaster and looks fab alongside my matching Dualit polished steel kettle - which I was amazed to find I'd had since October 2021 (I thought I'd had it about 18 months and it still looks new!) Be aware it may remain hot for longer than other toasters you may have used, and the sides can be very hot if you intent moving it away from a permanent location (I kept my previous toaster in the utility room and carried it to the kitchen to use, but this is so lovely I may just leave it on display permanently). My decision to purchase a Dualit toaster was the ability to replace parts and not to purchase another cheaper model ever (I've gone through >7 cheaper toasters over the decades, but no more!) I always wanted a Dualit toaster ever since I worked in the health service in the days where we made patients toast for supper!! Finally, I'd remind and recommend anyone to register your product, it's a seamless and easy step and instructions are provided.

Easy to misunderstand the defrost function
Firstly if you want to use the defrost function it’s really only if you want to then toast the bread. Turn to defrost first, then after that’s finished toast as normal. In that case it works really well but if you just want to defrost a slice of bread to use for a sandwiches you’ll find it’s still slightly frozen. It also doesn’t toast completely evenly, though personally that’s not an issue Other than that, it’s a lovely toaster. The operation is simple and it looks fantastic. The fit and finish are great but you may miss not being able to leave it at a set time / browning as you just turn the dial and go. I would say it’s great but expensive for what you get

A design classic that works perfectly.
Dualit toasters are the best. They are the only toasters that fits sliced bread and thick shelf-cut chunks. Bread never gets stuck. Crumpets come out perfectly. The timer means that burnt toast is rare. But be careful if doing a second batch of toast as the residual heat means it the bread browns faster than the first batch I purchased this from Amazon resale and everything is working perfectly. It was only the box that was damaged.

Toast for every taste.
This is an excellent toaster. It is very easy to use and produces toast speedily and evenly. A moden and sturdy design, which looks good in the kitchen. Overall, a nice piece of kit.

Excellent but way overpriced
Toasts evenly and very fast, like 3x times faster than cheap toasters. Build quality is outstanding and it looks fantastic, gives 60s vibes. It has a mechanical timer which makes a bit of noise but I like it that way, you want to hear it working so you don’t forget it’s on. It heats up in seconds, don’t leave it unattended. Best toasts I ever ate, seriously. Not worth the price though but if you want efficient toast making than this is it.

Just the best toaster
You can buy toasters that do everything for you or you can buy a Dualit, it's back to the old days. Don't get me wrong, this is a fantastic toaster. A lever to pop your toast up or down, a switch for 2 slices or 4 slices and a clockwork timer for 3 minutes or less of toast cooking, what else do you need, apart from startling good looks. The timer thingy gets a bit of getting used to, to find your correct level of toastiness for your toast, I reckon about 2.5 mins, which is just dark enough for me. I also like the pull out tray for the crumbs, very easy to clean. Also, there aren't many toasters where you can buy spare parts for, most are throw away. I don't think I'll need a different toaster ever. I also bought the sandwich cage which means I can do cheese toasties in it too, and the cheese doesn't fall out all over the inside of the toaster, simplisity at its best. (British engineering done well) And I noticed in our local Waitrose cafe, they've got one as well.... and they do a lot of toast.

Oggettivamente la solidità, la possibilità di riparazione, e il design sono fattori determinanti. Per quanto riguarda la cottura è oggettivamente un altro pianeta, uniforme e mai eccessiva. consigliato!
