I got this 12VDC battery charger along with five other different 12VDC battery chargers to compare them in everyday real situations. They all had similar specs & were all w/in the same price range. They were used on an almost daily basis to charge the six deep cycle PbSO4 batteries for my house electrical backup system as well as the six deep cycle PbSO4 batteries in my NEV/LSV. At the end of a year, this charger (along with the other five chargers) was still functioning nominally, which makes it a great purchase at a nominal price. And so, I recommend this 12VDC PbSO4 battery charger

Very good...works for all types of 12V batteries including P04 Lithium... I've used for refurbishing older batteries on the 16 hour setting then once completed that stage set it on car battery and charged...put back in the van..starts right up..

*****UPDATE*****UPDATE*****UPDATE*****UPDATE***** Can I charge my battery with my battery CONNECTED to vehicle, or do I need to disconnect it before charging? I have been charging the CONNECTED TO VEHICLE battery for 12+ hours now & it's beet sitting on level 3 for a majority of that time. That normal? I'm wondering if I disconnected the battery, will it charge faster? It's a brand new battery that died due to lights being on. ...as my battery was no good. It's been sitting too long. I WILL re-rate item as soon as I am able to actually use it. It was packaged & arrived in the promised time. It's a cool looking thing & seems sturdy enough. I did notice some mention that the wires (pos/neg) were...flimsy, but, IMO, I don't think so. They attached to my battery properly. The clamps were tight. Secure. In MY case however, it failed to charge my battery. It simply emitted a constant horrendously loud, alarm like BEEP, an indication of an error...again though, NOT DUE TO PRODUCT, I'm sure. I will be able to leave proper feedback in the future.

Sometimes you get a fault if your battery has run down too far, so the charger won’t charge. Get a set of jumper cables and hook another battery to it. This will raise it to a minimum voltage so the charger won’t see it as defective and will charge it normally. Second, just as with electric vehicles, rechargeable batteries no matter what type, will charge the first 80% quickly and take a long time to get the last 20% to charge. Most 12 type auto battery chargers don’t charge with a constant amp, so as the battery gets more charged the less amps the charger puts out. The last 5% may be at 2 amps. There is nothing wrong with the charger, this is how the charger conditions the battery when charging; So it may take 2 hours to get to 80% but 5 or 6 hours to get the last 20%. Notice most vehicle advertisements for electric vehicles will tell you the time to 80%. So if you leave home with a full charge with a battery with a 200 mile range, you stop to eat at 20% (160 miles)and charge for 80% (90 min), the next range will be 160 miles till dead…..but you want to charge at 20%, your range is then 120 miles to the next stop. So during your trip, once you leave home and after your first stop your range will always be 120 miles, until you can fully charge your batteries and then your back to 160 miles for one leg of the trip.

The other reviews complained about short cables. Safety is a concern to consider. Plugging power plug into wall plug first allowed mode changes to be made on the charger. Letting it sit for ten minutes while battery leads are connected to battery is required for it’s computer to analyze the battery condition. After the wait time found both Deep Cycle batteries to be fully charged. My first AGM batteries of two required charging overnight and the charger is working on the second AGM battery. That second AGM battery will be fully charge in the next hour. Being concern with cable length for providing power to the charger a good quality extension cord will work. Battery charging cable being to short I found pointing the fan away from battery lets me connect to the battery terminals. And if the spread of the positive and negative clips are too narrow carefully spread the cables apart. My plan is to purchase the same charger a second time as ten amps is a good reasonable charge rate to use on a battery.

I've had this charger less than two years. It did work for a while, but no longer attempts to charge any battery at all. Biggest complaint besides it being useless is the touch button. It's horrible, works maybe half the time.... Like the charger. Now let's talk about that wire crimp.... Come on! That's HORRIBLE

Efficace. Batterie quasi à 0. En un peu plus de deux heures 100%. L’appareil gère tout seul les paramètres ( voltage, ampérage, température etc). Je suis très content de cet achat, d’autant que nous ne roulons plus beaucoup et que la voiture de mon épouse étant une hybride, plus de batterie de mise en marche, égal plus rien. Sans parler d’un système pour verrouiller les portières. Vraiment top.
