Behringer ULTRAVOICE XM1800S 3 Dynamic Cardioid Vocal and Instrument Microphones (Set of 3)

I bought a set of three for miking up drums and guitar amps and general donkey work in my studio, proving themselves as very capable bits of gear. I then tried one as a back up vocal mike at a gig. They were going up against Shures both times and proved themselves equal or better than the far more expensive and "sacred" Shure boys. The harmony vocals were much clearer and louder than the Shure being used by the lead vocalist at comparable P.A. settings. I now use these exclusively both live and in the studio. I haven't done in depth comparisons with complex analytical gear but my ears tell me what I want to know. They sound great. The build is excellent; even the case is sturdy and practical. Only time will tell as to the longevity of these mikes but so far I can thoroughly recommend them. Don't think you're just getting a cheap and cheerful back-up here. These are seriously good mikes and at an unbelievable price! I have even supplied two to local pubs where I sometimes run quiz nights and they work brilliantly and take some knocking about. I now have two sets for my own use. At this price

The microphones arrived pretty promptly & I was impressed by the quality of their finish. The outer aluminium casing is nice & solid as is the grille; which has wind & breath reduction fabric on the inside to help get rid of those plosives,ect. I tried a vocal test first & I was very happy with the clarity of the tone. If you bring the microphone closer to you it increases the bass response which sounded nice. I then tried recording percussion which was fine, but not quite as good as my MXL mike, but clean & clear none the less. It did very well when I miked up a practice amp that I use for recording & produced a lovely tone for my guitar. I even tried recording in stereo with a pair of the mikes & that was good as well. I notice that several reviewers have compared them to Shure SM58's & 57's. I own a Shure pg56 for drum recording & percussion & personally feel the Shure is a little better, but not by much. I think other manufacturers are starting to catch up. You really can't go wrong with these for the money; especially if put through a mixer. Ideal for any home recording studio or band type use. I would recommend these to other people.

For the price, I can’t really complain. They work well, come with a case and 3x mic clips! The mics themselves have quite a lot of handling noise however so if the user changes the position of the mic in their hand, it gets amplified through the speakers quite loudly. I bought them half expecting this to be the case, so I was able to combat it with some creative EQ and Gates. Vocally they’re not bad- I’ve definitely heard worse. One of the little plastic surrounds for the switches popped off, I just glued it back on. They’re not overly heavy but are weighty enough to feel of quality. They’re all metal construction and feel nice to hold. Standard XLR on the bottom locks nicely with cable too. If you aren’t using a digital mixer where you can use gates etc, these mics would be ideal if they were being used in microphone stands, or with loud background music

This review is written for a two year-old's brain. Any problems with the language or grammar used can be directed to the North Pole. Prepare for rant against idiots. :) These mics are utterly amazing for the price. I was looking at getting a mic or two for my DJ setup when I came across these and took my chances. Unlike some people on here, I had noticed that they are NOT WIRELESS. I'm reading people's reviews saying: "Thought these were wireless, disappointed, 1 star" Don't rate them down because of your idiocy! They are really good quality. Obviously they are not wireless, Behringer aren't Citronic!!!! No company ever would sell 3 wireless mics with no visible receiver for £30!! If you cannot see a receiver (A BIG BLACK BOX WITH A STICK IN IT) then it's not wireless. These mics are not made as a toy, nor made for wireless capability and YOU DO NEED XLR (THE 3 PIN CONNECTOR ON THE BOTTOM OF EVERY MIC EVER THAT ISN'T MADE FOR A TWO YEAR OLD OR AN ADULT WHO THINKS LIKE ONE) CABLES AS THERE AREN'T ANY IN THE PACKING DESCRIPTION, THE DESCRIPTION OR THE PRODUCT IMAGE. Rant over. These mics are perfect for live work, but wouldn't use them for studio work. The sound is a bit metallic but nothing that an EQ can't fix!

Having used a lot of behringer products i had high expectations for these microphones, even at such a low price. I was not disappointed. If youre after a live mic these are perfect, at least as good as if not better sounding than an sm58. Build quality is also good with a nice heavy cast alloy body and a wire basket. The clips are a bit of a tight fit but they are cheap enough to replace if they get broken, and not realy a consern when you consider that a lot of budget stands come with clips anyway. The plastic case they come in is sturdy enough to be rattling around in the back of a van and still keep the mics undamaged, although I'd refrain from jumping up and down on it. Overall I'd say if you are in a small band and decide to buy a more expencive mic for live work you'll just be throwing money away.

I bought these for use with prayers and sermons. I have been well impressed with the quality of the mics. I originally bought these at around £37 from elsewhere. We have recently moved premises and also do more live performances so we needed more mics for mobility. I saw these on amazon and bought them without hesitence, and at the current price of £25 it is the best you will get. Vocals are clear and defined, there are some limitations to this mic regarding the bass frequencies. They do the job excellemtly for vocals. I would recommend them to any one wanting a quality microphone. The only gripe I have it the mic holders supplied in the box have a plastic mounting threaded to fit your stands, this is easily damaged. It would be nice to have the usual brass fitting, which are more durable.
