Great linear rails for a great price
I recently bought a stereo microscope head and needed a stand for it. The best stands are double arm boom stands, which use two linear rails. I have a 3D printer, so I figured, why not just build one? Looking at McMaster-Carr, linear rails and pillow blocks are EXPENSIVE. I looked elsewhere online, and they still weren't anywhere near what I wanted to pay. So then, of course, I checked Amazon and found these. I probably could have gotten away with the 16mm rails for my application, but I decided on the 20mm x 1m. First of all, they're super heavy. I guess that should be expected. They have a nice coating of oil on them, which seems to get on everything like anti-seize does - nothing a little brake cleaner can't take care of. The rails are straight and have a nice polish, and they measure 20mm +0.1/-0.2. The ends aren't chamfered, which would have been preferable, but that's an easy fix. The pillow blocks seem well made, with recirculating ball type bearings in them. Putting the two together, the blocks slide nicely on the rails, though they're a bit loud. The dust seals on the blocks seem to be well-fitted and there's no discernible play in the bearings. I need to cut these rails down, and I did so using an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel. I then polished and chamfered the ends with a 120 grit flap disc. Cutting took a couple of minutes per cut. You could probably do it with a hacksaw but it'll take you all afternoon. Out of curiosity, I tried drilling into a piece of the rail and I was able to drill without too much problem, so the rails aren't too terribly hard. Overall, these are a great choice if you need a set of linear rails, pillow blocks, and mounting blocks. I'll be posting my build to Hackaday and thingivese, and I'll be recommending these rails to anyone looking to build their own microscope stand.

Where's the 6th star!
I cannot say enough good things about the product quality and the value. For $28, I cannot understand how the company isn't losing money. The product weighs a ton and shipped UPS. The machining on the rails is sick. I was thinking I was going to cut them down but I have no idea how I'd get through these things now. They are incredibly dense and strong. Great company and product. Thank you for making this affordable!

High quality materials
Very happy with the quality of the material and workmanship of the rails and bearing blocks. I will reorder these if I need more.

The things slide on the shaft real good.
Honestly quite happy with them for the price. Wish they had a bit more preload, buts thats cause I wish they actually had a bit more friction. I used them to replace the door slides on my CNC lathe. Its frankly to easy to open now! Ive already got plans to get some more for another project.

Good deal for the money, bearings a little loose...
These are not to bad for the money, however the bearings have more slop than they should. I would think you should not be able to feel any slop but there is some and there is no way to adjust. For my purposes this is not a problem but be aware of the looseness. And the mounting threads are not tapped very deeply - plan on chasing the threads (M6) and deepening them if you want to use decent-length screws. I like long screws in aluminum. The hole is the right diameter for tapping deeper, no drilling needed. Like I said - they work fine in my app and might in yours too.

A great set of linear rails
A superior set of linear guide rails. Exceptional build quality. Smooth and quiet. Precise accuracy. I used these with the SpeTool router sled. All the screws included with the tool exactly fit into the rail bearing blocks. I now have a very professional router sled for a very affordable price. This is my current favorite jig in my home shop. Exceptional value with high build quality, and durability. Highly recommended!

It took two buy and returns ( Amazon makes the process pretty easy ) to get two perfectly straight rails but you have to keep in mind how much you've paid. That's not to say they are all bowed but one of my first order was so maybe some QC issues. Once I had it sorted out, I was able to " dial " them in for perfect movement on the rails. I also got a shorter pair for the cross rails on this router slab sled that I'm assembling. I add slightly undersized rubber washers to each exposed ends of the slide blocks to prevent any dust build-up or contaminating the bearings. I haven't noticed any deflection in the 20mm rods. They are plenty stout for the length of the rails in my router sled application. It's been almost a year of 2-3 times a week usage with zero issues.
