QWIRLY Hermle Wrought Iron Wall Clock, Black, 62 cm x 15 cm x 10 cm

Received a prime delivery in 2 days. The clock was well packed and easy to prepare for use. It hangs from 1 screw/wall plug and needs at least 5ft 6 ins of space below for the weight chain to drop down. The pendulum swing is about 6 ins wide. The tick is very subdued and the hourly ping of the bell is unobtrusive. I think the clock (I chose a black one) is very attractive and seems to be accurate set as received. It is nice that it runs for 8 days or so before needing winding by pulling the weight chain. I recommend it.

Perfect! (But please see further information in the comments section) Lovely and discreet tick-tock, as is the gentle 'ping' of the hourly chime. I've had it for a month and having adjusted it via the knurled nut on the end of the pendulum, it's now accurate to about a minute a week, which is more than can be said for some quartz watches. At risk of sounding a bit Asperger's, I can sit gazing at the thing for hours, admiring the skeleton movement and function; really nice engineering; the pendulum's oscillation is just under one per second: very relaxing and, like the chime, IMO is not in the least intrusive. My wife says I should get out more, although she is to blame for it's presence in the house, what with its existence being due to my thinly-veiled hint just before my birthday and my receiving it as a present. Highly recommended. PS: I've wanted one of these for at least ten years, having seen it in a friend's house, at which time it was £110. PPS: Never fear of damage in transit; the packaging was robust and the clock arrived intact! And one last thing: take care to hang the clock exactly perpendicular so the pendulum swings equi-distant each swing. PS: One year later, please see the comments section! PPS: The old one's hanging on the wall, still beautiful but not ticking! So I've just ordered another. Too good to be without! Just in time for Christmas too :)

I am delighted with this clock. It keeps superb time, adds movement to a room that otherwise sits with nothing happening - and gives such a reassuring tick-tock. The fact that it comes from Germany pleases me because they have such great engineers and care so much about precision. I may not have mounted it quite high enough on the wall - so it may not have room for the weight to keep descending for the full 7 or 8 days for which it is capable. However it's set to be attractive and to balance visually with pictures, mirror etc and if it only goes for 6 days I'm happy. It tells you visually when it's near the end of its downwards journey. What I like is the simplicity of this clock - one of the earliest designs which requires nothing digital, my personal energy, no batteries, no wifi....... and works just as well. It is attractive and traditional.

What a beautiful clock and ,beautiful chime on the hour , ticking sound is not loud so doesn't irritate.. Would of given 5 stars but expected clock to be bigger but I'm still happy lovely addition in my living room .Was easy to set up and is simple to adjust ...Delivery was excellent it came from Germany..

This clock is mounted at the top of our stairs on a plain white background where it looks stunning. After mounting it on the wall it did take a few days to get it to run accurately but after a little trial and error with the pendulum I have managed to get it down to a few second a day. The bell has a nice sound and gives a single ring on the hour which is unobtrusive even at night. It has an eight day movement so providing you mount the clock high enough and it has a clear path to the floor you only have to pull the weight up once a week Overall I think this clock is great value for money it looks and sounds fantastic and is always a talking point for visitors.

Bought this clock as a 60th present,it looks fantastic mounted in their cottage kitchen.Everyone that sees it loves it.Had no problems setting it up and it works and sounds great.A nice clock for the price.

The clock appears to be beautifully made, but closer inspection shows that the face of the clock is loose and wobbles. Also the pendulum was slightly scuffed upon unboxing. Also the clock has never kept time ever in the year I’ve owned it. It runs slow, a couple of days go by and it will lose sometimes up to 10 mins. I keep adjusting the pendulum up every time but it doesn’t seem to ever make a difference, the clock keeps running very inaccurately. So it’s more of a nice ornament than an actual clock that you can use. The chime is very nice but it’s a disappointment hearing it going off when my watch shows 8 minutes past the hour….

I got my first Hermle skeleton clock about 40 years ago, when I got my first house in Apeldoorn NL. I took my mother for a day trip into Germany and she bought for me as a house warming present. Somewhere in the events of the last thirty odd years, with house moves and other things it got mislaid. I have missed hearing the reassuring tick of the clock. Now I have another Hermle skeleton box, which has worked fine, straight from the box. I have not even had to adjust the pendulum. In 24 hours of running I has bee accurate to within a few seconds, and it has the comforting tick and the light single chime strict on the hour. A great buy and the clock is a great talking point. The two visitors I have had since I put the clock up have been fascinated by it.

Veramente bello da vedere! Essendo aperto si possono vedere tutti gli ingranaggi meccanici in funzione, per il prezzo pagato ha superato le mie aspettative. Sembra abbastanza solido, le istruzioni sono in tedesco/inglese. Veramente di buona fattura, dovete però disporre di una parete completamente libera perché pendolo più catena per il contrappeso sono alti 1,80 m circa. Installarlo e avviarlo è semplicissimo, il rintocco ogni ora non è forte, infatti l' ho messo in camera e ho dormito tranquillamente. L' imballo era molto curato, arrivato cinque giorni in anticipo. Consiglio fortemente l' acquisto a chi ama orologi meccanici ed ha pochi soldi da spendere!

I've always wanted a mechanical clock since I was a child. I've looked at grandfather clocks on and off over my adult life but have never wanted to spend the money on one. I stumbled across this clock while I was looking for a new wall clock to put in my man cave and decided that if I was ever going to get a mechanical clock then this will be the one. I really like the look, feel and sound of it. It is very solid and except for the porcelain face is all metal. It did take me about a month of tinkering with it to get the time keeping very close to accurate. I got it to about 15 seconds a week slow which is close enough for me. The tick tock is fairly loud when compared to regular cheap wall clocks. At first the tick tock bothered me when I was watching movies or TV so I would stop the clock while watching TV. After a few months I don't even notice the tick tock anymore while watching TV so I don't stop it anymore. At first it was hard to see where the hands was on the clock from my chair but also after a few months I can now see where they are at. It is a very nice clock. It just takes some time to set and get used to. Update: After 5 years I have the clock so perfect on time that I only have to correct it about twice a year. It usually occurs in the start and end of winter so I wonder if it's due to the temperature affecting the clock. It runs all year long non stop. Definitely recommend.

Peu chère, très précise une fois réglée (balancier, voire la suspension mais je n'en ai pas eu besoin), correctement finie. Horloge de la forêt noire basique mais efficace, design moderne et antique en même temps. Le timbre des heures est léger et en aucun cas gênant. Seule la finition du poids est bof bof..
