Works perfectly in my "old" 8 core Mac Pro 3,1 early 2008. No 2.4ghz BT (bluetooth) interference, fully operates my 2015 USB 3.0 7-port hub, seamless with OS 10.10.4 (Yosemite), no drivers necessary, great speeds, competitive price. Had a nightmare with two other makes (obvious which) so if you have a similar set up, avoid those at all cost. Very happy with this purchase and level of support given. (Extra advice; fix card in one of the 16x slots if you have one free)

perfect plug and play for mac pro 3,1 2008 model. Flip off the side, stick card in slot 2 put the side back on. plug in. easy and works perfectly. no drivers needed, no fuss. took 2 minutes to do and no problems whatsoever. definitely worth the money and a child could fit it by themselves.

Very well made, easy to install - just opened up the Mac (2008 Mac Pro 3.1), popped it into a spare slot, closed it up again - 5 minutes tops. Works straight away, proper 3.0 speed. Very glad I bought it. Happy to recommend it.

Already had one of these in my vintage Mac Pro 3.1 and bought this to put in a friend's 5.1 version. As expected it was up and away in no time. Good to have USB 3 facilities on veteran machines.

Plugged into my 2009 Mac pro 5.1 running mojave and recognised without any problems on powering up. Only niggle was that I had to edit the fan profiles, as they were all running at 100% after installing the card. Not too much of a problem and now getting write speeds on flash stick of about 40 MB/sec and read speeds 145 MB/sec. Testing speeds on USB 3.0 SSD plugged in gives read speed 350.5 MB/sec and write 270 MB/sec. Very happy with this and only took about 5 minutes to fit. 100% Mac Pro compatible :)

Overpriced but worth it - using with 2019 mac pro

I bought this for a Mac Pro. Works perfectly and it’s not expensive for a branded card - this is the model with four ports on the same buss, there is a more expensive model where each port has its own buss, if you are a power user you might want to go for that one.

I alrady have my x 16 pci slot taken up with a video card so the only place left is my 4 x slot in my early 2008 mac pro. Question: I timed a 11gb file transfer with a wd external drive and it only shaved 1 minute off the time v from the from of the macs usb slot. Is this only because the cable is a USB 2.0 cable or is it because its in the 4 x pci slot and not the 16 x slot? If I bought a usb 3.0 cable would I see a greater difference in transfer speed?

Antes tenía una de esas tarjetas usb 3.0 más baratas y solo daban problemas: discos que no aparecían, velocidades inestables. Todo esto desaparece con esta tarjeta. Es más cara pero merece la pena porque es instalarla, es reconocida por el sistema y funciona perfecta. Recomendable. Equipo: Mac pro 5.1, mac os sierra

Sonnet Technologies USB3-4PM-E - Scheda PCIe "Allegro", a 4 porte USB 3.0 Montata su MAcPro versione 10.8.5 / 10.9.5 / 10.10 ( 3 partizioni,un solo hd ) tutto va bene , viene riconosciuta immediatamente , senza driver aggiuntivi , quindi darebbe bene anche per un hackintosh . ma sconsiglio in quel caso ,perché immotivato il costo , per motivi tecnici questa scheda non richiede alimentazioni aggiuntive ,cosa fondamentale in un mac pro " MacPro5,1 / meta 2010 " cosa invece molto fattibile in un hackintosh ,che permetterebbe un acquisto diverso/economico in quanto sarebbe assai seccante dover dare alimentazioni aggiuntive con attacchi che il mac non ha , si entra in un giro di cavi convertitori ,spinotti, che c'e' da impazzire per trovarli e spendere ,spesso tanto , a conti fatti , questa scheda che è di ottima qualità sia nel progetto che nei materiali , basta guardarla un secondo per capire che è fatta bene , nessuno potrebbe dire il contrario , ho visto schede che i componenti sembrano disegnati..per risparmiare sul prodotto , qui tutto è di qualità e si sa , la qualità si paga .. se motivata . qui penso sia uno di quei pochi casi ,che il marchio non vale più del prodotto.. ;) la consiglio vivacemente :D poi nei test ,è una bomba ! finalmente gli hd 3.0 esterni , sono vivi...

Llego antes de lo previsto, bien empacada y solo es necesario conectarlo en una entrada pci y ya...... ningún problema en Mac
