Thought the start of the book with looks into the Quran in great detail pointing out the passages in the Quran that are violent and subjugate every one who is either of another religion or a women. And while there are many passages in the start of the Quran that are peaceful they are all abrogated by the end of the book . Which all the Islamic scholars say that what is at the end of the book is the truth in the Quran and cant be changed . As much as the media/political/religious and academic elites why keep going on the media that it has nothing to do with Islam . Even though the terrorist and most Muslim have sympathy with the terrorist . If they did not surely they could came out in large numbers and march to say not in there religions name! While the end of the book covers the different answers to apologizes of Islam and especially Islamic sharia ideology . Some of which are very good . Thought the fact that violence and coercion not to say that is some European countries now saying any thing negative about Islam can get you in a lot of trouble .While its fine to question every other religion or believe system . But people need to ask questions especially about Islam and its ties to violence every were as the author says it’s the countries that live next to major Islamic countries are constantly either at war or getting ready for it. And Europe is heading in the same way. Review: An illuminating, if troubling, read - This book is an important read for anyone worried about the escalation of Islamic terror attacks and seeking to understand their cause. Peter Townsend sets out, clearly and according to themes, the quotations from the Qur'an and Hadiths (commentaries on the life and sayings of Muhammad) which incite violence and destruction of the 'unbeliever'. He also covers other topics which might trouble the Western mind, such as child marriage, 'wife-beating', and sex slavery, and cites the references which condone such practices in the faith. As someone who has only ever read fragments of the Qur'an (in translation), I found this book an illuminating, and accessible, introduction. Townsend persuasively argues that the cries of "Islamophobia" are often no more than an attempt to stifle debate and silence those whose concerns about Islamic encroachments on Western liberties and values are real and justified. He makes absolutely clear that he does not condone violence of any sort, and that he is not attacking Muslim people, but encouraging vigorous questioning of what, in many respects, is an alarming and divisive theology.

An illuminating, if troubling, read
This book is an important read for anyone worried about the escalation of Islamic terror attacks and seeking to understand their cause. The governing authorities and reporting media in the west are terrified of tackling this problem as they do not want to break the rules of political correctness and like to portray themselves as “decent
A very disturbing read and a real eye opener that puts the politically correct base standard response to any Islamic terror attack – “Nothing to do with Islam”, or more perversely, “Islam is a religion of peace” – firmly into perspective. The governing authorities and reporting media in the west are terrified of tackling this problem as they do not want to break the rules of political correctness and like to portray themselves as “decent, compassionate human beings”. Wake up western world and educate yourselves, learn all you can about the Islamic faith so you cannot be fooled and blinded by the spin from the cowards that run our countries. This book is a good place to start and remember knowledge is power. This book is so truthful and factual that I’m surprised someone hasn’t tried to have it banned. This book is essential reading in my opinion.

It is good on the text of the Koran itself and well ...
Interesting and informative although the last part of the book allows itself to become overly polemical. It is good on the text of the Koran itself and well worth reading especially for how the text works and is modulated by tradition, commentaries etc. The central tenet is 'question' Islam but the author is taking a very difficult line in our 'PC' world and might be judged by some readers as not showing enough understanding of the genuine attempts by some moderate thinkers to try and effect change from within Islam.

Islam – Today the Land of Islam, Tomorrow the World!
“ Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran is the highest authority in America and Islam is the only accepted religion on earth”. This quotation, which I took the liberty to extract from Peter Townsend's "Nothing To Do With Islam" book, is from Omar Ahmed, founder of the Council of American Islamic Relations. It bluntly unveils what Islam is all about. A totalitarian doctrine that from its bloody onset in the Arabian Peninsula, namely within the Medinan or Second Phase of Muhammad's prophetic ministry, ranging from ,622 A.D. to 632 A.D., is posed to conquer and dominate the “Other” or the non-believer. If you're not that much into religion, the closest logic to this binary approach of the “Land of Islam vs. The Land of The Sword” is the late 20th Century Cold War logic; Two systems, both bent on wiping out the other! Islam's edge? Being the sole contender with such an agenda. To this end, Peter Townsend deconstructs Islam exposing it as an inherently violent religion throughout its existence! Haven't other religions mimicked such behaviour, might you ask? Indeed. Take the Inquisition, for instance, where people where burnt at the stake on the grounds of heresy! However, this was back in the XVI Century! Thus. unlike other faiths, Islam holds a violent stand toward the unbeliever or the “Other”to this day! Peter Townsend unveils it in a clear manner resorting to both Islam's principles, - the Qur'an -, as well as its doctrinal tomes, - the Hadiths or traditions -, that fill in the Qur'an's gaps. Last but not least, bear in mind that all this unveiling takes place within a wishful thinking and a political correct background that seeks to stamp out any criticism. As I picture it, a well researched, well written and well argued book that sheds some light onto an otherwise obscure subject in the West; Islam!

As a result of personal relationships with Muslims, I’ve been on about an eight year journey to understanding Islam. Thanks to Peter Townsend, who is a brilliant writer/researcher and obviously knows his stuff inside and out, I have gained a better grasp on Islam. Although I have all of his books, his novel, “The House Built on Sand”, is by far my favorite. I’m typically a short story type of reader, but that was not the case with the novel. This book grabs your attention pretty much from the start, keeps you engaged, and makes you feel like you’ve joined the characters on their adventures! I have enjoyed every minute spent learning about the history and the present relevance of Islam from Townsend through all of his books, and I hope to see more of his amazing work in the near future. Especially a sequel to the novel for the easily bored, like me (hint hint 😉).

excellent insight on the roots of Islam. It shows that radicals can exploits verses of sacred texts to execute acts of violence. Some repetitions make the reading a bit heavy.

Peter provides a refreshingly honest exploration of the association between Islam and violence, avoiding both the stifling political correctness and the hateful conspiracy theories that too often dominate discussion of this important issue. He describes the problem well, provides useful background, responds effectively to likely objections to his arguments and suggests constructive responses. An excellent read!

A very well researched book, explains the concept of hypocrisy of left society supporting a extremely radical religion. Also the author in the end informs ways and means to fight back/resist the wrongdoings Must read book!
