When is the best time to dtd once you have the lh surge?  should you be doing it before or is it best to wait until you see both lines?

You can DTD anytime during that time frame to increase your chances of conception.  Please note sperm can last in the body on average 3-5 days. How long until Lh surge is no longer detected or line gets fainter?

If you see a surge for more than 2-3 days (or even both lines appearing for most of your cycle), you likely have PCOS and need to see your doctor about it. Ovulation test strips will not work for you. And you'll likely have to go to more sensitive tests thay measure estrogen as well, and quite likely medication.

Can you ovulate  more than once month because ive been getting the both dark libes and some light but not too dark as a second line

Thank you for contacting Ashleyann Mabatid. Usually women do not ovulate twice in a month. It could happen if there was a shorter cycle in a longer month, but the possibility would be slim.

Note, if the test read at 3-5 minutes did not show a T line the same or darker than the C line, it is a negative result. Women do have a natural wave of Lh peaks to low ( base lines). It is more likely that the results are showing as fainter or darker based on:

1. when you test
2. sample tested
3. reading the results at proper read time

Meaning, getting good samples are important to detect proper hormone levels. For LH testing, testing at 2pm or after and reducing liquids a couple hours before testing is optimal. Using dilute urine or very concentrated urine ( first morning) is not advised for LH testing. Lastly, make sure to read all results at 3-5 minutes. The tests will look much darker after 5 minutes until it dries several hours later.
