Great Value Hypoallergenic Food
Great Value Hypoallergenic Food – Brilliant for Skin Allergies! This 15kg bag is fantastic value for money, especially with the convenience of delivery straight to my door. I’ll definitely be subscribing! It isn't just a mid-range food; it’s a high-quality, hypoallergenic option that avoids common irritants, making it perfect for my Spaniel’s skin allergies. Both my Spaniel and Corman Shepherd love the Duck and Rice flavour, and it works perfectly with the soaked chia and salmon oil I add. The packaging is durable and reseals well, keeping the food fresh. Since food trials take months to show results, I’m sticking with this reliable choice. Highly recommend for any pet owner managing sensitivities!

Skinners is best!
This food is very good and is has a good amount of protein in it. I did my research when deciding on a dog food and found this to be the best quality one for the price. The food is in perfectly sized pieces for a small/medium dog. My dog loved the flavour and cant wait for dinner time! The dry food is better for the dogs teeth and my dogs are a perfect example of this. My dogs stomach seems great since moving onto Skinners food - which is the reason I switched. The food is for sensitive stomachs and hypoallergenic. The sack lasts my medium sized dog about three months which is very cost efficient. I also buy the salmon one-they seem to be doing really well for my dog she is very healthy and the fur is well conditioned. For anyone wanting healthy dog food at a reasonable cost this is the one to try! (and the Salmon and Rice skinners too!)

Good value
Our working cocker loves it and it doesn’t upset his stomach like a lot of foods do and doesn’t leave him searching for more food.

The perfect food for my dog.
I regularly buy this Skinner's Duck and Rice dog food on Amazon as it is not available in pet shops in Ireland. I do not often give 5 star but have not hesitation in doing so for this product. My Golden Labrador comes from a rescue and that rescue postponed delivering him to us several times as he suffered from severe diarrhea. Finally 2.5 years ago, we welcomed our dog with a warning that the vet had been unable to cure the dog's digestive problems and also with a (very expensive) bag of Hill's Science sensitive stomach dog food which the rescue gave us as it had been recommended by the vet. For weeks, there was no improvement in our dog's digestion and I search the internet for a miracle solution. This food was the only one that seemed to have none of the cereals and fillers that are the most common cause of allergy (wheat, maize...) and was at a price that allowed us to consider buying it for year to come if it agreed with our dog. Our dog has been eating that food for well over 2 years now (we sometimes buy the salmon and rice version for a change) and has never had any digestive problem since. Of course it could be because his initial stomach problem were due to our dog being stressed and would have settled with time whatever the food he was put on. That is the reason I had never reviewed this product before now. However, last month, I suddenly had to foster the dog (a golden retriever) of a good friend of mine as that friend suffered a stroke. My friend warned me that his dog suffered from diarrhea (in addition to multiple other ailments). As my friend's dog was delivered to me without food, I decided to feed him the same food as my dog. Last week, my friend left the hospital and I gave him his dog back. My friend was delighted by the state of his dog and even more so when I told him that his dog's digestion had been trouble free. So delighted in fact that he asked me to order double the quantity of Skinner's food so that his dog could continue eating it. Added to that the fact that people often comment on my dog's coat and how healthy he is, I definitely have no hesitation in recommending this food. I also like the fact that the Duck and Rice version barely has any smell and because the kibbles are relatively large but also light, it looks like our dog has a lot of food in his bowl. As for the taste, I can't say much: my dog and our guest dog love it but the are not picky tastewise.

Another batch that smells funny
We had a standing order for two bags a month for our dogs. When they arrived this time there was a very strong chemical type odour. Opening one of the bags resulted in the odour being far more noticable. This is not the first time we have had this problem. As this product has no option to be returned, once again we contacted Skinners directly. Skinners were very helpful and commented that they had been dealing with a number of similar issues from Amazon customers. They have again agreed to replace both bags. Having given Skinners the batch numbers we noticed that the bags were very close to the use by date and furthermore in the old style bags which I have been informed were phased out some months ago.. We have now opted to cancel the Amazon order and purchase locally as the cost difference is minimal. We felt that Amazon, in this instant, should be responsible as the “retailer” however with no returns policy or contact information it fell to Skinners once more to resolve the issue. So in conclusion be aware of Amazon retailers when buying this product.

5*
I have 2 rescue dogs, a 5 year old gsd x collie who is prone to putting weight on and more recently we got a whippet x saluki pup who is now 10 months old and a bag of bones and energy. I had fed the gsd cross on cheap supermarket food as I didn't know any better and she seemed fine on it. Since we got the pup though, I suddenly had to wise up to what I was feeding them. Anything too meat rich gave the pup the squits, anything too cheap and full of maize and wheat made his coat start falling out!! Plus the older dog had started to pile on the pounds and just didn't look as healthy as she used to. After hours and hours of research and reviews, I settled on, and forked out for, James Wellbeloved. Both dogs seemed better on it but it worked out expensive for 2 x 18kg dogs. One day I was catching up with a neighbour who has a Springer pup and couldn't believe how bright he was and how shiny and velvety his coat was. She said she fed him on Skinners. Initial Google search and I saw the price of a 15kg bag and nearly gave up on it there and then, assuming it was full of rubbish like wagg etc. However, consulting the trusty "allaboutdogfood" website and I was surprised to see this contained all "green" ingredients and no "red". And all the green ones were exactly the same as the JWB food but Skinners was half the price. I ordered a bag there and then and set it up on subscribe and save so it cost me £23. Both of the dogs went mad when they smelled the bag and cleaned their bowls out when they were offered some. Roll on a little while and both dogs are gleaming. I feed the older dog a little less than suggested to keep her weight down but she is still satisfied after each meal and her coat is lovely and shiny again. The pup gets fed a little extra than suggested because he's still growing and runs like the speed of sound when he's out. He is putting weight on nicely, is full of beans and his coat is no longer falling out. Stools are smaller and firmer, had absolutely no wind from the sensitive gasbag puppy & at an average price of £5.30 a week to feed 2 dogs a food with no nasties, I'm over the moon I found it. I honestly don't think I will ever feed them anything else :)
