Yes that's exactly what I've done. It comes with a small funnel which allows the water to go through the aperture. It's up to you how much you put in we use about 3-4 inches which you can gauge easily enough.

They are a pretty flexible design, so it’s possible. That said, they’re also a bit rubbish, so I can’t recommend them if I’m to be honest.
