A joy to use, and very good value for the money
I was initially after a crimper for bootlace end ferrules, and after adding this Preciva model to my Amazon basket, I saw a different Preciva crimper for spade terminals which I also added. Both had a large number of positive reviews, and at the time I write this, this bootlace ferrule crimper has an overall rating 4.8 out of 242 reviews, and 88% of them are 5-star reviews. Based on these positive reviews, I ordered them both. The following day I was reminded by a newspaper article that a website called Fakespot checks the reviews of any Amazon item you want, and gives a grading from A to F, based on how authentic the reviews appears to be. I was alarmed when I checked both crimpers, and the website graded both sets of reviews with an F (the lowest grading) indicating that it thought most of the reviews were fake! These are often where the seller has offered an incentive for giving a positive review, perhaps asking for a product photo or video upload. It also said "Our engine has profiled the reviewer patterns and has determined that there is high deception involved." Although a bit worried about these dire warnings, I was looking forward to checking out both tools to see what they were *really* like! This is therefore a review for the "Preciva Crimper Plier Set, 0.25-10mm²/AWG23-10 Self-adjustable Ratchet Wire Crimping Tool with 1200 Wire Terminal Crimp Connectors and Wire End Ferrule". The crimper was accompanied by a selection box of ferrules, a nicely-presented instruction booklet, and a zip-up case. The case isn't mentioned in the item description, but I note that some other reviewers have received one in the package too. Other reviewers have supplied photos of what they got, and examples of the crimping, so I won't add my own to this review as I have nothing new to add on that score. Also included was a card which suggested I might like to join the "Preciva Tester community", where I would "get products at a heavily-discounted price or free". I have not visited the relevant Facebook page, nor have I contacted or been approached by the seller or manufacturer. Despite my worries, I am actually very pleased with my purchase. The tool I received makes a very good job of crimping, and the good selection of differently-sized ferrules looks as though it'll last me for some time. The ferrules don't come off the wire when pulled, and the final result is very neat. Because the supplied ferrules have an insulated plastic sleeve at one end, they won't be suitable for all applications. The non-insulated variety are better-suited in small spaces, like UK 13A plugs. I tried to remove some of the plastic sleeves, but they were very well attached to the metal ferrule tube, and I just ended up damaging the ferrule. I have now purchased a collection of non-insulated ferrules to supplement the insulated ones which were included with the crimper. Note that this crimper has four jaws/anvils, and the end result is a ferrule with a squarish cross-section, unlike some other crimpers which have six jaws/anvils, but that's no problem for me. Preciva offer a more expensive six-jaw crimper kit on Amazon, but the crimp range is reduced to 0.25-6mm². The crimper has comfortable plastic handles which don't slip off, and it feels very good to hold and use. It is very similar to other sub-£25 end ferrule crimpers on Amazon (they probably come from the same Chinese factory), and it is likely that they take their design from the expensive Knipex 975304 (also available on Amazon) which is from a very well respected German company, but costs about five to eight times as much! All in all, I am very happy to award 5 stars to this crimper kit, as it is a joy to use. The tool works exactly as I had hoped, there's a good selection of ferrules, and the kit is very good value. Unfortunately the other Preciva crimper didn't work quite so well, but that's for another review!

Good tool for the job
This is a great little set, well worth the money. I was surprised how well the crimping tool worked. The crimp tool makes an extraordinarily strong and secure connection to the cable with truly little effort. You can adjust the crimping force. However, once I tried them out, I found I was happy with the current adjustment. This kit comes with about 1200 ferrules in a range of colours and sizes within a plastic box. The tool and the box of ferules are placed in a zip case keeping everything together. Not sure how useful all the ferrule sizes are, but I found I need to buy more of the common sizes I used. The coloured plastic bits around the ferrules are easily removed if not required. Chose the correct sizes ferrule and you will find you can get the ferrule to cover the wire all the way to the insulation creating a good connection. Overall an exceptionally good tool for the job.

Fantastic Toolbox Addition
I've been wanting to buy a ferrule tool for ages and never needed it enough to warrant it! I am currently adding some additional electrics to my campervan so the time is now Overall excellent quality and the design is good, so even when clamping down, the comfort is retained crimping the ferrule - Give a really good durable connection. I have only knocked a star (more on the condition that the ferrule tool itself). I bought a Like New, but unfortunately, it was missing quite a few of the grey ferrules as you will see. I had ordered needing to use it the day after, so I had to keep the despite this but disappointing on this point Great sized kit and well priced

Good value for money, works well.
Bought this after a bit of research on Amazon, I’m the guy that will read 10 reviews for a screw, so I tend to be careful with what I purchase. I have a few go to brands for tools, but I had never tried Preciva. The first surprise when turning up was that it came in a case, I had picked the cheapest option “just in case it was bad” and expected only to get the tool and crimps, so getting the case was a bonus and it’s nice quality. The tool I cannot fault at all. Many years ago these crimps were the bane of my life, the tool I used was nowhere near as sophisticated as this one and after a few cycles I would find that they would fail, often with dramatic effect since it often meant that suddenly a load more amps were being pushed over less cables and smoke often ensued. I’m really impressed with the actual crimps, and I’ve become a convert since this tool entered my life! The tool is great, the crimps are great and the end result is great as well. No hesitation in recommending this and I will certainly add preciva to my list of tool vendors worth considering!

Works just how I wanted
I got this to put decent ends on wires for wiring things up. There is a good range of ferrules in the set, though I have found for my purposes that the three smaller sizes are being used exclusively so far. I'm wondering just what those huge fat ferrules could be used for. The ratchet crimper is easy to use and I found it's default pressure is about right. The ferrules crimp nicely. Though I have found a twist to the inner wires helps a lot. If your first thought ferrule doesn't fit on the wire because of the insulation, then try the next size up, kinda obvious. I try and make sure the ferrule is a good fit on the insulation as this will minimise any movement of the wires in the ferrule when in use. So far I've used these a lot on connections I need to make/break a lot and they've lasted better than any other solution I tried. I have to admit, I'm looking for a supply of just the smallest ferrules now as it looks like I'll use them up in no time. These things start as possibly a bit of a solution looking for a problem but quickly end up being so very useful you'll wonder how you coped without. So far I've found the Preciva brand of things to be slightly better quality to toher brands as I have gone through other tools and replaced them with this brand.

It works and it's reasonably priced
This is a crimping tool for bootlace ferrules, the metal sleeves you can put over stranded wire for better connection when screwing said wire into terminals. It comes with a wide variety of insulated bootlace ferrules - these have a collar of plastic around one end, to cover any wire that shows between the crimped ferrule and the insulation of the wire itself - to be used if the wiring can be exposed in normal use / you're tinkering around with a prototype. It *doesn't* come with any uninsulated ones, which is what you'd want for inside a plug - this is why I knocked a star off "Value for money" as some of these in the selection would have been perfect. The concern whenever screwing stranded wire into a terminal is that you can break some of the strands while tightening up, which can cause excess heat / arcing / both. This tool provides a solution, and the crimped ferrules pass the tug test (so long as you use the right size for the wire!) If you're doing hundreds of crimps a day then I would spend more and get a powered one, but otherwise this is fine. There's a lot of similarly-named and badged products in this category, and the English translation of the instructions isn't perfect, but it does the job.

Fantastic quality
I've bought various cheap crimping tools in the past with varying success. I use some premium crimping tools at work and I generally notice the deficiencies pretty quickly when a tool doesn't perform. I bought this pack as it seems unbelievable value, yet it gets very good reviews. It arrived last week and I am still waiting for the opportunity to use it on a cabling installation this week, however, I got the opportunity to use the crimping tool last night, to crimp the ferrules onto the end of a bike brake cable. I've never seen a bike with these crimped correctly and generally, they fall off the first time you touch them (as happened last night!). I replaced the ferrule and crimped with the Preciva tool and it worked a treat - thoroughly attached and I was unable to pull it off. The tool itself seems very well made. It crimps evenly on all four sides. The teeth in the jaws make the ferrule grip the cable correctly from all four sides. The handles on this tool are also better quality than equivalently priced crimping tools - generous, rounded plastic moulds on the metal handle make the crimping process comfortable and give me more confidence in the build quality of the tool in general. The ratchet release also works well - a little pressure on the handles allows you to release the ratchet an back the tool off in the event of a problem. This tool, coupled with a box of crimps that I couldn't buy elsewhere for the same money - a no brainer!

Fantastic addition to your tool kit.
Have you have ever seen the cable ends inside various things that have the little brass or tin bootlace ferrules fitted to the cables? I always thought how much neater and safer that looks because it practically eliminates the chance of strands of fine cable that you can hardly see, shorting out connections. This tool allows you to fit those ferrules yourself. Be aware that is ONLY designed for bootlace ferrules so don't buy it for any other type of connectors. The tool itself works perfectly and it makes a very strong and secure connection to the cable with very little effort. The ferrules have a bell type entry so they really help to guide the cable in nice and straight all the way to the insulation so no conductor is visible. If the ferrule is a really tight fight a little twist and it will glide right in. I can't pull the crimped ferrule off the cable no matter how hard I try. The cable will always break before the ferrule comes off. You can adjust the crimping force by removing the locking screw and rotating the adjustment dial. Just for clarity when I say crimping force I mean how tightly the ferrule it attached to the cable and not how much pressure you need to apply to close the crimpers. Obviously if it takes a lot of strength to close the crimpers they must be crimping on the cable very tightly. While the screw makes it a little fiddly, it should mean that once set to your liking it most probably won't ever need adjusting again. The tool I received, tightened the strength of the crimp on the cable the opposite way to the arrows stamped on it. So I had to rotate the dial to the - to increase the strength of the connection and to the + to decrease it. So just be aware that that could be the reason why some people don't get a strong crimp and the ferrules can be pulled off. This kit comes with 1200 ferrules to get you going. I would have liked some twin entry ferrules in a couple of sizes instead of some of the tiny ones, but is represents great value for money as it is so I'm not complaining. It would be great if I could get the ferrules with different coloured insulation in each ferrule size for live, neutral and earth etc. but so far I haven't found anywhere that sells them that way so I apply insulating tape of the correct colour instead. If you know of somewhere that sells them, please let me know. A little tip I recommend is that when buying extra ferrules yourself in whatever size you use a lot of get 10mm length or more and cut them down with your side cutters rather than having to buy different lengths. Then you can get the ferrule in all the way to the insulation creating a really nice looking connection.

Nice crimper
It works awesome , I used it to crimp proprietary ferrules on a din rail distribution block on my stereo 14g or 16g in the same size ferrule they worked fine , 12g crimped with no adjustment , comes with plenty of different size ferrules , nice case , crimped all tight ,I'm very happy with the performance , one hand no problem . I'm happy , Tim T
