Why did it almost double in price? also, ilfosol s no longer exists, it's called ilfosol 3.

It has been called Ilfosol 3 for years but even though we asked Amazon to update the title, it is a case of 'the computer says no'. I shall try again, you never know. As for the pricing, I am afraid I do not know how much you paid and where you bought it before (online? in a shop?) so I cannot comment.

Is it ilfosol s or ilfosol 3? they're very different while title and pictures are not the same.

It used to be known as Ilfosol S and quite a few years back the product (mark 3) was renamed Ilfosol 3. The tech sheets are a bit different (you can find them on Ilford Photo website). You will not find Ilfosol S on the market unless it is way out of date.

Can I use this with HP5?

Yes. I haven’t, because I use Delta 100, but I know other people who do, and Massive Dev gives instructions for it.
