Question 1

Where can i find a grind size guide that compares declicks on the slim mill to coarseness?

Accepted Answer

I do not know of an official grind size guide. There is a range of ideal settings for any brewing method, since light and dark roasts tend to fragment differently. For French press (coarse grind), I have had good results with 9-13 clicks from the finest setting (9=light roast; 13=French roast). For Melitta manual drip pour-over (fine grind), I get good results with 5-8 clicks, depending upon the bean. I used 7 clicks for a medium roasted Ethiopian bean the other day and brewed some of the best coffee I've ever had. Hope this helps.

Question 2

Can you dispense the coffee directly into an Aeropress coffee maker?

Accepted Answer

It fits perfectly inside the Aeropress, and then you can use the Aeropress stirrer as a little mallet to tap the bottom of the grinder chamber to release all of the grounds. It’s like they were made for each other.

Question 3

I like this mill but the handle is so difficult to remove ! sometimes I can't do it in less than 5 minutes ....is there a trick to know ?

Accepted Answer

I had the *exact* same issue. I learned by tapping the unit on the side until the handle jiggles up and down makes it much easier to then simply lift the handle off the top.**UPDATE Fe b 20th** Nevermind, it has now become almost impossible to remove the handle. I now loathe trying to remove the top since it could take anywhere from 3 minutes - 10 minutes... along with a bruised palm of my hand.

Question 4

how long does it take to grind?

Accepted Answer

If you do fine powder for Turkish coffee - about 20-40 minutes. The grinder just doesn't bite into the beans and spins without any effect. For general purpose (ground coffee) into Turkish - about 5 minutes. In outher words unusabe for fine grind.
