Brabantia 109843 Sort & Go Recycling Bin, Plastic, 16 L - Mint Green

I have been looking for a bin which would fit into a quiet narrow space with a lift-up lid to use for recycling. The 16 L one is absolutely perfect, currently it just sits on a small one (which I don't use daily), but I'm planning to fix it up on the side of kitchen cabinet soon. Very happy with the colour, the material is sturdy and easy to clean. Although I wish they did it in a slightly bigger size, it does fit in a fair amount and usually needs taking down a few times a week. I really like the design and the top holds the bin bag nicely in place. It came with some Brabantia sample bin bags, which were great, but expensive, so decided to go with basic supermarket ones which are just as fine. Most of our recycling is dry anyway, so leakage or ripping isn't really an issue.

We got this as it took us too long to fill a large bin and we just ended up having flies everywhere. So we decided to change for a smaller bin (16 litres). We looked at many high tech sort of bins, with sensory opening etc, but they were too expensive so we went for this Brabantia one and, honestly, I’m much happier with this little bin. It’s sturdy, looks nice, feels good quality, easy to change the bag, hangs nicely from a little cabinet door that opens, making it easy and accessible rather than just on the floor. Also good to just remove it, carry it closer to the sink whilst washing and then placing back in the cabinet. Only issue is that we couldn’t get the screws from the hanging piece to fit properly, so the piece swings a bit, but once we perch the bin on it it stays well put so not a huge issue.

I use this to put the contents of my cats’ litter boxes in so that they don’t stink out the house. I live in an area where the council will only accept your household waste in black bags and not in a dustbin. (I know — how un environmentally friendly is that!) so the bags are kept in flip top bins that do nothing to keep any strong smells contained. This bin is the perfect size to keep two weeks worth of used litter and cat poo for two cats and due to the great design of the lid, there is no gap caused by the bin liner and the closed lid so no smell escapes. The bin is very sturdy and although expensive (compared to other plastic bins), it is well worth the money.

This has proven a great bin for my household. I would have given a five star only if it had a pedal, other than that no complaints whatsoever. This can hold wastes of a three members family easily for 5 days. Easy to remove the top to clean. At first, I thought this is a bit expensive but it’s worth the money. Happy with the purchase. Hoping to buy the square one next!

Very well made, great design - simple lines. Easy to clean. Has the option to attach to the wall. Bought for putting the recycling rubbish in. Handle makes it easy to carry to the outside bin. Bought the larger 16l which is a perfect size for placing straight onto the floor. The smaller size would have been too low to bend down to, and would better suit screwing onto the inside of a cupboard or on a wall. Came with free bin bags too!

Well made with handle and the lid attached to a frame which fits over the rim of the bin trapping the bin bag if used. If not used the bin is easily cleanable. Mine is 16 litre which is smallish but perfect for me and there are bigger sizes with more capacity if wanted. Colours could be better than black, white, grey and "council depot green". I have the mint colour and is matt so it does not look wishy washy. In all an excellent product and worthy the prices.

Short review: If you're looking for a small kitchen bin this is perfect for you. Long review: This bin is great, I was looking for a replacement for an IKEA bin that was poorly designed with too many surfaces on the inside of the lid and an annoying inset ridge that kept gunking up! This bin is great, there are minimal surfaces to clean, no gaps or channels for crumbs and gunk to build up in and the lid seals really well when it's closed (keeping smells contained). The hinge feels really strong and the lid is easily removed or opened. The carry handle is also super useful. Material wise it's also great with a slightly textured finish that doesn't accumulate dirt and wipes clean easily. It's a truly great bin with a 10 year warranty!

Nearly cancelled this order to buy a cheaper alternative, but it’s a nice compact size, great colour and feels reasonably substantial. Glad I kept it.

I have this outside for my dog trash bin. Love the size. It can hold up to 2 weeks of trash from my 2 frenchies. Have not noticed a smell other than if the lid is up and it’s warm out. But I don’t have the lid open long. I have it in a covered area next to the house in the shade. Easy to change the main garbage bag too.

Good quality and size

Well-built and sturdy - does what it's been designed to do. I love the pop of colour contrasting with the neutral palette I have in my kitchen. It's great that the lid can stay up. Works best with Brabantia's bin bags (included 3 free samples) but other brands that'd hold 16L works, too. Easy to wipe clean. There are cheaper alternatives but this one definitely has a much better finish. And I couldn't get this colour in cheaper alternatives so all up, worth it for me.

This trash bin has such a sleek design, it’s incredibly lightweight, easy to clean and fits perfectly underneath a basic kitchen cabinet/or in other small spaces. Perfect for a small family or couple who doesn’t require a larger capacity trash can, as it would fill up too quickly and become cumbersome to constantly have to empty otherwise. Additionally, I will say despite the measurements provided for some reason when I opened up the box and took it out, it still seemed so much smaller than expected. So again, if you’re looking for something with style, easy to use, and meant for small spaces, this is the right bin for you.

I love this trash bin! Even my girls do. The color matches my island cabinets and backsplash. I bought it to fit under my sink. It if was just an inch shorter and an inch wider, it would even be more perfect. I need more space at the top between it and the cabinet so the cabinet would not get dirty as much when putting in trash. I love the lid. I use my left wrist to easily open it without getting my hands or lid dirty (I do the same with one handled faucets. Keeps water from getting all over the counter). I told my family to do the same. I love how the top keep bags in place. I can still use the old grocery bags that I saved before CA banned the stores from freely using them. I also found out that the bigger grocery bags stores sell for ten cents fit almost perfectly. Also, Costco sells small 4 gallon bags that are about 4 cents a piece that are 17 inches tall and 18 inches wide and still have some left for overhang.
