Would it help with a person with aphasia, helping them to pronounce words?

Contact the University of Michigan Aphasia Program and ask them. Probably the best program in the country.

Yes. But in return, this is a great product and as you don't use it all the time, the batteries last a lot. I have used rechargeable ones.

dose it have a book slot in back

Hi Phyllis; Yes, it does have a book slot on the back. We have never used it. The cover for the book slot (blank protector) is 2 1/4 by 1 3/8 inches and reads: "Insert Bookman Cards Here." and, "To purchase see your retailer or call 1-800-Bookman". Also, the second small button from the left on the front right under the word "Franklin" is the "card" button. That button brings up a screen that describes the Bookman features and says that for a list of available titles, visit www.franklin.com. Hope this helps. Best regards, Fred.
