Easy to install and set up
A really great phone system this one, I also purchased an extra handset and they are very easy to add. The whole system is straight forward to set up, quick and simple to add contacts, you also only need to add your contacts to one of the phones and however many you have, and including the base station, all the information you put into that one phone will automatically be added to all the others, even if you added another handset at a later date. The menus are easy to follow and simple to input data. This model has so many great features with not just caller id but you can also set them up to verbally call out the name of the caller, which is really good for maybe elderly people or if you have any sight problems, it’s a very handy feature. All in all a really good phone system which is easy to set up.

Absolutely fabulous!!
The instruction book could be clearer but I managed to work it out by just experimenting with the buttons. It's a sturdy phone & easy to use, once I figured it out! Ring tones are odd, do you really want ''Silent Night'' or ''Jingle Bells'' in April. Plenty of choices. Good value for money in my view, & it does what it says on the box. It's quite weighty, but not too heavy. The buttons are a sensible size for those of us 'over a certain age'! Good functions & having the cordless up-dating phone book entries as I input into the corded phone is a brilliant idea as having to do it twice is annoying. Altogether, I am pleased with my purchase & the rapid delivery.. Ordered Sunday, arrived Monday.

Very good system. Reliable and expandable.
Purchased this system for my shop as I previously had only one wired telephone which meant leaving customers waiting if we needed to check something on the shop floor. Our previous phone was very basic and had no features. Purchased this as I liked the look of the portable phone as an accessory and we now use the portable device almost exclusively. There are plenty of features which make this a great system for home or small business. The devices talk to each other seamlessly and we have had no issues in the two or so years we have had this in service. The system is semi-closed, in the sense that it is it's own little ecosystem but still allows you to upgrade and add additional handsets (which I have.) There are multiple features within the system such as call blocking, intercom calls (handset to handset) as well as a locator feature which can be handy if you have put the portable phone somewhere and can't find it. The battery life is great on the portable phone and the charging cradle is easy to use and hassle free. Installing the device is simple. Install the main, wired handset as you would a regular phone. It requires 1x power source (230v) and one line in connection. The portable device requires power only (230v) and the base needs to be powered at all times. You can add additional handsets - check compatibility first but there are many options. In my case, I purchased KX-TGD624EB for my other shop which is a set of two portable phones (one main, one additional) - I removed the additional handset and added it to this base. I believe you can add more than two additional handsets. Each handset can be named and will all talk to eachother. You can call individual handsets from another internally, or all together. You can also hand-off a call to a different handset, so you can choose where you'd like to "send" it and it will ring on the other handset. There is a phonebook memory. It's fairly small at just over 100 entries but sufficient for most uses. You can categorise entries which makes searching for them easier but a great feature for me is the ability to choose different ringtones for each category so you can easily distinguish the call before it comes through. The range on the portables is great too - at most we can be about 20m from the base and there is no drop in quality or connection. The device in the office is only around 5m from the base but must travel through two walls. There is other inteference from devices but this does not affect the quality. One frustrating feature on the portable handsets is that if there is a power cut or even if power is momentarily lost from the base (such as moving to a different outlet) then the time must be re-set on the device. This is still the case if the master handset has never lost power. I would have assumed that the battery power in the device would retain this information but apparently not. However, you don't lose your other data, such as contacts, settings etc. There are features which we don't use, such as answer phone, parental controls, call blocking, etc but this is more than suitable for my business use. In the future I do plan on upgrading to a more managed VOiP system but this current system is more than satisfactory. In summary, the sound quality is good. The calls are loud and clear and the ring is also a good volume (also adjustable.) The devices are fairly easy to use and even for someone not very tech savvy they will take little time to become accustomed to. The range is spectacular and will cover even the largest homes and most small businesses. The system is functional, reliable and the hardware is good quality. I'm sure the era of landlines is slowly dying in residential uses and I am sure larger businesses will use more advanced systems. However, this is a fantastic product at a great price.

Great phone package for homes or small businesses wanting a traditional phone as well as (up to 6) portable handsets
Excellent combination of corded phone and (up to 6) cordless handsets (one is supplied as standard). This is exactly what we wanted as my wife prefers to use a corded 'traditional' handset as a main phone, but I wanted the option of at least one cordless handset upstairs. The phone has been simple to set-up, has a good range of 'sensible' core functions (answer machine, hands free, 100 name address book, 3x 1 touch speed dial buttons (+ ability to use the keypad for up to 9 more fast dial contacts). Build quality and design are nice IMHO, the screen while only B&W is clear and easy to read. There is a usefull 'lost handset' function to 'ring' the portable handset if it gets lost down the sofa!.. and there are many more sophisticated functions (call baring, call transfer from base to handset etc. for those needing a more businesslike phone). You can connect a hands free 'headphone set' (not supplied) to the portable handset if needed, and (using an adapter cable - sold by a 3rd party on Amazon - link in one of the other reviews) you could do the same to the base station - connection would go where the normal handset plugs in. It does not support some of the fancier features - it is NOT Bluetooth (despite what some other reviewers say) and does not connect to USB or Wifi.. but for the price ~£65 I think it's good value and certainly met our needs.

Easy call blocking
The main reason for the purchase was to block scam calls and replace an aging corded phone with one that would have easy phone book set up and missed call displays. It does this well. I wanted a corded base station with battery back up so it would work in a power cut but that also had cordless stations that could be linked. This is one of the few on the market with these features. So really good. The set up is straightforward and call blocking very easy when a call rings, after you answer or programme in a blocked number beforehand. Note you need caller display from your phone service provider which can cost around £4 a month but many provide free. You can block when using the cordless station too. The display and buttons are clear and straightforward especially on the base station. The negatives knock off one star. You can not send texts (I could even with my old aging phone). However having mobile contracts now with texts included this is less of an issue. The base station only has one (not that pleasant) ring tone. Absolutely crazy in this day and age. The cordless station has different tones though. A real issue is that the base station has a battery saver mode and you would think it cuts to this on a power cut but no if you select battery saver it goes straight to it. This mode means it just works as a simple phone AND to get be out of this mode you have to take the batteries out and you lose all your settings and phone book etc. In the set up instructions it mentions this mode early on and does not explain it very well. So you think that it would be good to even switch manually to battery saver in a power cut. Well I would agree except that you lose everything to get back out of it!

Well done Panasonic.
This has proved to be an excellent phone. I decided to use if a while before I wrote a review. The base station also a usable phone - why there are so few manufacturers doing this I do not know, it seems the most logical solution. Changes made to the address book on one phone automatically updates on the other, useful. The main telephone display is clear and large text. All the functions work well and are easy enough to navigate without reading instructions. Though some menus are a little clunky one gets used to working round them. The 'melodic' ringtones are optional, there is a basic ring option. And the ringer can easily be muted on base phone and cordless independently - hurrah! Last but not least - having a cordless handset which uses ordinary rechargeable batteries is such a sensible approach! So, when the battery dies one doesn't need to find a suitable special fit one, and - in an emergency I reckon regular batteries will work too. There are plenty other positives about the phone, headset options, intercom etc., I am so happy these came on the market. My first answerphone - way back in the days of cassette tapes - was also a Panasonic and it never let me down. Long may this one continue. Well done Panasonic.
