⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fast, Addictive, and Surprisingly Competitive — A Perfect Game for Any Group
Fast, Addictive, and Surprisingly Competitive — A Perfect Game for Any Group Bananagrams has become the most-used game in our house, and that’s saying something considering how many board games we’ve accumulated over the years. It takes less than a minute to explain, seconds to set up, and somehow keeps everyone—from casual players to word-game obsessives—totally hooked. Gameplay & Quality The tiles are solid, satisfying to handle, and feel like they’ll last for years. The pouch is sturdy and genuinely portable; you can throw it in a suitcase, a backpack, or even a coat pocket. The speed-based style means there’s almost no downtime. You’re constantly thinking, rearranging, scrapping ideas, and then triumphantly shouting “BANANAS!” like a lunatic. It’s great. Why It Works for All Skill Levels One of the game’s real strengths is that it levels the playing field. Strong word-game players do have an advantage, but speed and improvisation matter just as much—sometimes more. I’ve seen someone go from confidently building a crossword masterpiece to panicking as they redraw half their tiles. It’s honestly more dramatic than it has any right to be. Replayability Endless. Every round is different, and because it’s fast, you always end up playing “just one more.” It also works brilliantly as a travel game, a family game, or something quick for game nights where you don’t want to commit to a two-hour strategy marathon. If Scrabble is a polite dinner party, Bananagrams is the friend who shows up uninvited, steals your snacks, beats you at spelling “quixotic,” and somehow makes you thank them for it. Final Thoughts Highly recommended.

Perfect family game!
We bought Bananagrams for our family, and my daughter loves it! It’s a really fun and simple game that has also helped improve our daughter spelling. The tiles and pouch are great quality, and the game is easy to set up and play anywhere. Perfect for kids and adults.

Our family's favourite game!
This seems to have become our "default" game as a family now as we all enjoy it so much! My youngest is 10 (and has been playing it since around the age of 7 or 8, with a little help) and my eldest is 22, so it's a good game to bring the whole family together - even my dad, who mostly hates things like board games, seemed to have fun when we got him playing! It's easy to learn the rules and anyone who is literate can play it, including primary aged children if they have a reasonably good vocabulary and can spell. The physical game itself is very nicely made, with tiles which have a very satisfying feel to them (nice and smooth, and they make a satisfying sound when you place them on a hard surface or rustle the bag!), and a very handy and uniquely designed bag they come packaged in, which seems to be well made (my older daughter has now owned her set for about 5 years and the bag is still going strong). It's a great game to take on your travels, as it's fairly small & light, with no excess packaging, and the soft fabric bag squishes into awkward spaces in luggage easily. Just be careful not to lose any tiles! I suppose the only downside is it's not the most sociable game in some respects, as each player tends to be "in their own world" when focused on the game, so you're not really interacting much with each other for a lot of the gameplay, but it at least gets everyone around the table engaged in an activity together, which can be hard enough in itself sometimes! And in fact the low demand for interaction can suit some people, we have some autistic family members who don't always want to be forced into more "full on" social interaction so this is a nice "bridge" activity to get everyone together. When my older daughter left home and took her set with her we bought another one for our youngest, as we missed having the game in the house.

Fun and fast paced word game
I love it, it's clever, fast paced - yet the game isnt over too quickly, funny, and challenging. You're trying to make words connected like a crossword, using all your 21 tiles, but as soon as you do, you pick up another tile that you now need to fit, so you're re arranging it all again, but when you do, you pick up another tile - and so on, or the other players make you pick up tiles, so you can have a small backlog. It goes on like this until all the tiles of the game are used. If you enjoy word games you'll love it, its so much more fun than slow paced scrabble. I don't think it's a great "travel game", because you need a fairly big flat space each to make your words on, but it's compact & lightweight, and therefore easy to take on holidays for playing where you have access to a table. My 11year old could play, but struggled against an adult, two children could play, I think 7yrs+ is generous, I'd say 9+ if playing with other kids is more realistic.

Good for the mind and soul
Excellent game for one or more. Really nicely made alphabets pieces, a neat and clean and addictive thinking activity both for the young and old. I love to take a pic of the crossword when finished with meaningful words especially with tricky letters too!
